Hmmm. In checking, I see that this reply box has everything you're missing. Very odd.

That's what I posted a link to, above. Art made the foil mold, sprayed the inside of the foil with PAM nonstick cooking spray to act as a release medium, poured in Devcon, let everything cure, removed the part and finished as necessary with an X-Acto blade and paint or BMF. My only question about that process is that PAM doesn't lay down in an even, fine mist - I use it for cooking almost every day and it gets kind of spotty - and I wonder how that may affect the end product. But finally, someone - Chief Joseph - has come up with an illustrated tutorial of a way to do it. Thanks.

Scale size, as noted, is .24 inches or .61 centimeters. I don't mess with my own calculations (because it makes my head hurt) and just go to the scale converter at the very bottom of this page, which I've bookmarked: http://www.scalemotorcars.com/forum/

"As is" on a car for sale. I've also seen it on eBay for kit listings. Just another way of saying "caveat emptor." -
I have no shame. Here's what Art said about foil casting the other forum, where he's known as Biscuitbuilder (2nd post on this page). It's pretty much what Chief Joseph describes. http://cs.scaleautomag.com/sca/tips_techniques/f/9/t/64136.aspx?sort=ASC&pi209=1 I have also seen recommendations to use Testors clear glass cement as a filler in the foil.

That one should be tested for STDs. -

Are you talking about inhaling vapors from building materials? I knew a guy in college who loved to huff airplane glue out of a paper sack but never built models. He certainly wouldn't have passed a drug test (and as I recall, he rarely passed any tests at all in college). (Why do you think they call it DOPE?) -
A little late on this subject, but Harry, your examples are terrific. I've often wondered If the tonneau I made for my Bentley would have been better in papier-mache, and you proved it.

There is nothing wrong with this kit that can't be handled by an experienced builder and turned into an awesome piece of work. Heck, Cruz could make a Barbie car look like the real thing.

What they said. Expert work in every detail. Question - I know it's on the 1:1 car, but why does the driver's seat bottom have a hump toward the front and the passenger seat doesn't?

New paints and offer from Spaz Stix
sjordan2 replied to sjordan2's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Not my offer. Just passing along the e-mail because I thought it would be of value. My experience is that Spaz Stix stuff is available both ways. Check out their website at spazstix.com -
Everything I see looks great. Beautiful paint. I would say that most experienced modelers on this forum recommend painting all body parts at the same time and in the same way. Don't know if you did that or not, but your posts indicate you painted them separately at different times.

Welcome to the forum Larry. But watch this thread carefully, because the moderators may move it to a more pertinent thread, such as something under Car Kit Reviews. It's a bit too specific to a particular kit for the General forum. If you can't find it, send a personal message to a moderator - Casey or Harry - and ask where it went.

Real or model, this is one of the most awesomely beautiful cars of all time. I wish there were a large-scale kit of it.

120-shot gallery of the sublime and the bizarre, as described below: For drivers and dreams The tag line of the 2012 Essen Motor Show was 'For drivers and dreams'. To a large extent this covers the nature of the event, which caters to both the tuner and motorsport enthusiasts. Although the tuner displays can be a bit overwhelming to the more sensitive among us, 'Essen' has achieved a workable balance between the two main themes. At this year's show, they were treated to a display celebrating the imminent 50 year anniversary of the Porsche 911 and a collection of historic racing cars from the first 40 years of the World Sports Car Championship. Also on hand were a relatively large number of manufacturers, showcasing both their latest racing cars and their lines of aftermarket options. For the more tuner orientated visitors, the show once again boasted a small track on which the latest drifting machines were exercised. As always the remainder of the twelve halls were filled with a wide variety of exhibitors offering all the automotive related merchandise one can dream off. Making the most of the relative quiet of the preview day, our photographers explored the vast Messe Essen and have returned with this 120-shot gallery. http://www.ultimatecarpage.com/event/306/2012-Essen-Motor-Show.html

If this man likes it - David Eicherly, a master of these kits - then you know it's good. Just superb in every way.
