  1. I'll get at least one each but the Nova.......the Vette MAY be new body on the old racing chassis.....just thinking.
  2. Saw the real thing in So Cal a few years ago......A big vehicle......I have the 1/72 kit too.....should do a detailed build.
  3. They're out there.....even really nice brand new units are made!!! But it's not just that simple.....46 Bumpers are different.....I'd use a set of 47-48 w/o issue.....but then you need brackets, splash pans and you need to be willing to alter the body work on the car now. All this will come some day....right now I am finishing up my 66 Mustang 2+2 full modified restore.....one project at a time!!
  4. WOW!! I had looked at a few sedans and even four doors.....but none were very nice....I LIKE yours!! Wish mine had bumpers. Both car and model cool!
  5. Road Atlanta for sure........we ran there about six times during our SCCA racing days......we had a Holman Moody built Datsun 260Z......we never won there....but beat Paul Newman in a close race one year!! Built a few of these kits....need to photo them!!! will be watching!
  6. Remember that's just my OPINION.......I have not entered a decree or edict. I COULD NOT PAY FULL PRICE.....and didn't because I waited. That's all......not put those down that paid full or mORE........Just my OPINION. Deep breaths....
  7. I have a few....and they are nice......but all bought 2nd had as I was never able to justify the cost new. At 50% or more I paid....worth it.
  8. I'll not get into the debate about who should be in already or who shouldn't. Fact is the NASCAR HoF is 99% of the time a ghost town as far as attendee wise. And I hate to tell you but 99% of the folks at the track today could not tell you anything about Smokey. So NASCAR feels the need to get folks into the HoF that SOME fans MAY know.....which means folks of the 1990's to today. After years spent in the NASCAR biz and always at the track I attend one race a year now.....Fall Martinsville. And when you talk to others that PAY for a seat and go to the track......some claim to be fans forever.......you know....since 1998......WAY BACK in the old days. I was in the biz almost 20 years in 1998....and current fans consider that 'The Old Days'???.......See the issue????
  9. If you are well north of 50 and built much as a kid you know about those Revell kits. Difficult, at the time, was an understatement. But age and 50 years of building have changed these kits. The kits are the same...but they are not the terrors they were when we were 7 years old. A few years ago I wanted to build a early 60's rail....and I picked out of the stash the Revell FE kit that had beat me as a kid. But I found that the kit was really better than I remembered and 50 years of kit building had helped!! So some of these 'tough' early Revell kits may not be so tough as we recalled!!
  10. As soon as I saw the thread title.....I was thinking a HW theme project!!!
  11. I bought it in Dec sight unseen other than a few photos. I placed a bid on it and was outbid. But after the first and second place bidders failed to pay the Dealer that owned it just wanted rid of it....I got a deal. No history came with it. To me it looks like a 1980's build.....during the 80's Fatman street rods shop was near my house and while I was a Mustang person my buddies all had pre 1950 cars. The car looks like someone was inn the process of updating the car. It has a fresh 350 / 350 Chevy engine. Ford 9" rear and Mustang II front suspension.....old school 'cut from a Mustang' not current fabricated. Interior is new and very nice with Ididit tilt steering, new carpet and upholstery. She drives nice....stops on a dime and is a solid car but needs cosmetic work. Gas tank is a boat tank....works but ugly. Have a new tank. Paint is OK for now...I see factory dark maroon someday....maybe a sun visor, steel wheels with dog dish....who knows. thx
  12. Yours???? Mine lost her bumpers before I got her.....and new ones aren't cheap!!! I like it!!
  13. In DEC I bought a 1946 Ford coupe street rod in 1/1 scale. I then bought 2 of the IMC/Testors kits. Glad a put off starting the kit as I will now use the Revell kit. But the old kits will not go to waste....I can use the 46 trim out of them on the Revell kits.
  14. I still want to build a Giga.....but mine will look curbside to this build!
  15. VERY NICE build....good old days of P/S!!!
  16. The licensing horror stories I could tell.......but I want to stay in the biz......
  17. Very nice work.....I have one to build...someday!
  18. If they do the red/white wedge.....I'll need a few!!!! A FANTASTIC failure!!!
  19. MPC Pacer wagon??? I don't recall ever seeing one...and as a old AMC guy I'd love someone to post box pics......I do have the AMT Pacer wagon kit.......it was never altered to the 'big' grille hood version.
  20. Having run a few hobby shops, owned two aftermarket companies and still in the hobby industry......the fact $10 kits are gone is not news to me. But I feel the hobby is getting some momentum.....and I hope we do not kill it with price increases.....yes ...for two complete kits.....$37 not bad....but new comer John Q Public will not see anything but almost $40 for a small box of plastic.
  21. $50....not too bad.....better than the one I bought a few years ago that was about 1/20.
  22. I am a big fan of what John and Tom have been able to do at R2...... That said they are opening some gates and cleaning up the tool.....no new tooling. It's more a comment, 'worry', that kit prices may kill the momentum we are seeing right now. Let's not kill the goose before any eggs are laid......
