  1. HATE the early entry at an extra cost thing......... Like the toll lanes on LA freeways.....if you are rich enough you get special privileges. Don't have the cash....tough you sit. I have the same feelings toward 'floor rights' or whatever early entry is called. I HAVE put on two national shows......so I am fully aware of the work and time needed.
  2. WOW.......
  3. Love it!!! With the Der Beetle Bus coming and some work.....we can build again....
  4. There was a real nice resin body of the Pontiac.....I did the decals for the kit....still have a few for those wanting to attempt.
  5. The Javelin did not run regular NASCAR Cup events before 73. They used the BOXY Matador to little success. You are referring to Roger Penske racing correct.........not Penski???
  6. SCCA C Prod was just the 'armature' version of SCCA Trans Am. I was crew chief on a SCCA C Prod team (3 years 1 win at Charlotte ) and our 260Z Datsun was a Trans Am 2nd hand racer. The difference between SCCA club racers and SCCA Trans Am car is mostly in name in the early years and even when T/A went tube frame cars the specs for club SCCA cars followed soon after.
  7. This 56 Ford ran weekly shows at Metrolonia and Hickory NC. It ran Limited Sportsman and ran a 240 cid 6 cyl.....one year this car and a team car one almost every race. Penngwen decals.
  8. Happy to get one more chance to get a few things I never got around to.....
  9. As already posted the T/A books are a good thing to have......lots on the net too. Few of the kits sold as T/A racers are not real accurate. But most of what you need to build good models. Between aftermarket and kit parts it can be done. Some of my T/A models. Fantasy T/A builds.......
  10. Looks like many I saw in the period!!!
  11. Went to my store Sat.........lots of SSR KITS.. a few Mgnums, planes and space shuttles. Passed on all of them. Son visited the Huntington store still have Dodge, trailer and 40 Ford combo....most of the common car kits.
  12. Just wanted to see if years of watching it held up!!!
  13. Charlotte is a hobby shop wasteland....... I worked in a few different hobby shops in Charlotte during the time I lived there. At least with Hobby Lobby you do not have to mail/internet order glue or a bottle of paint. As I said it's 1.5 hour to Hobby Lobby and 2.5 to local hobby shop. So I'd love ANY store I could buy simple hobby supplies....Hobby Lobby or LHS.....At least in Charlotte you have something within 30 minute drive.
  14. Wife enjoys sewing and knitting......so we visit Hobby Lobby about once a month (it's 1.5 hour away) I got a Garlits FE rail kit for $15....not bad.....but was more happy with what I found in the scrapbook dept. It was a nice corrugated paper that is chrome plated. It will work great in dioramas after it's dulled a little with clear flat of a rusty brown color. At 99 cents for a 12 x 12 well worth it. I buy much more 'craft' stuff than kits......
  15. You know I like it!!!!!! Nice!! (I own a 1/1 Matador)
  16. One word about Prepon..........'Slackers'........ I loved her as a redhead in 70's and in 'Orange'.....but see Slackers.....
  17. The only production plastic model kit of a Mustang II notch......only one I have ever seen.......Entex issued it too.... As owner of two 1/1 scale mustangs I'd love to find a 1/25 kit too......
  18. Should be easy to find the box on the net......But I have run a hobby shop or in kit manufacturing for more than 30 years, never seen at show, shops or ebay. I've won many a bet with folks over kits they think they have......like years ago folks saying they had a 76 Torino kit (we do now but not in 1980) only to bring it in and it was the JoHan 72 Torino. I myself hope you are right and can find a box picture.....as it would give me a new 'grail'. thx
  19. Eden in that episode of Andy Griffith show was, and still is, a benchmark in my noticing women!!!
  20. I'm pretty sure you know that's not true......... But after 30 plus years working in the industry at every level from retail shop to kit manufacture.......... I've seen projects pushed by one or two individuals at a company just go away when those folks are no longer there. Being pretty big flops I don't see anyone putting their neck on the line anytime soon......it will be a while before new plastic runs in those molds. If you know different please share. thx
  21. The only mass produced plastic kit of a Mustang II coupe / notcback was a 1/16 scale Entex kit back in the 70's 80's. No 1/24 or 1/25 coupe was offered.
  22. The number I saw dumped at Ollie's I doubt we will see them in the Revell catalog. Plus the folks that backed that project are no longer at Revell.
  23. Funny how your mind recalls things differently than what really happens........I've seen Poppins 100's of times....my kids wore out a VHS when they were little!!!
  24. Didn't she have a line in that film??? 'feed the birds'.....
