  1. IMHO Dale Jr is done. Not that he's washed up or anything.......if he returned and dies in a on track incident I KNOW NASCAR feels it would be their death blow. So keep him in and around the sport but out of a car.
  2. Good to see you.......I have a number of yuor kits.....nice stuff. I tried the resin kit biz for a total of about 5 different kits....a tough biz to keep going for as long as you have.
  3. WOW....very cool.....nice to see some rail subjects.....I was a model railroader before model car guy.
  4. NICE WORK!!!! I love movie cars and plain janes.
  5. If I get time I'll see if this 'law' is still in place. But the muscle flexing going on right now......I'd not spend a lot for tooling in China. But look how much they copy and don't even think about it......Do you think if you have 200 tons of tooling sitting in a quasi state owned shop in China you can just walk in and take it??? Glad I ain't in charge.
  6. Hope this is not rude........this was my two day build to just finish something. Inspired by last American Hero...... box stock dirtied up...thx....I'll watch your more advanced build.
  7. I bought 900 Monogram 1983 Bill Elliott NASCAR Thunderbird kits. It was back in 1988 when a drug store Wholesaler in Harrisburg NC went out of business. I went to the close out sale and saw the kits offered for $3 each....still a good deal. I asked for a discount if I bought the whole case of 12 they had open and was offered all they had at $1 each.......if I bought all 900. I bought them all. I needed help just moving them so I called my buddy that owned a hobby shop and had a truck. We ended up spiting the 900 into 3 loads of 300 each. I got 300, he bought 300 and the hobby shop got 300. So I ended up with 300 but I did buy 900. If you every bought one of these kit at Toledo model shows.....might be one of these!!!
  8. Wonder if they will do the Ambulance in 1/24 that they do in 1/35??
  9. Pretty sure it is a Pegasus kit........NOT a Moebius kit......but nice work.
  10. I built a mask for Halloween........gave out candy....had fun....
  11. Very nice clean build..........
  12. During my Analyst days I had to become informed about manufacturing in China. At that time tooling created in China was owned by the state if push came to shove. While all parties are happy no issues. But it could get ugly fast.
  13. Kinda on topic. Go out there and look up the laws in China. Some interesting and scary laws about true ownership of items CREATED in China. Lets say I hope we stay friendly with them.
  14. Great concept!
  15. You must be near me!!! I am on the VA/WV line. I'll paint in my garage at anything above freezing but not bodies. Chassis and parts look OK but bodies I'll just wait until low 50's day. My garage is unheated and drafty so it's close to outside!!
  16. My 2.5 car garage would only hold one car. Three pick-up truck trips tot he dump and I may get two in it. Thousands of magazines went in one load. (recycle bin at dump) Real car, model car, model train etc etc since no one wanted them for free. I hope I don't regret purging that many magazines someday. Some items were Dad's estate stuff...old broken tools etc......kept holding on to them.....but figured it was time to let go.
  17. Thanks for the pics!!!! Not perfect but a good start!!! thx
  18. Picked up one Wed while traveling.....looks great. Can you say 'Oly'....
  19. Stopped at Beckley and found two more Tamiya weathering kits.......kits A and C.
  20. Barboursville WV had spy car and 71 Bird.....little else but some train stuff I picked up.
  21. Grew up in a 63 Lark wagon with the sliding roof. So all Studie's hold a soft spot for me. We drove it, my parents did, cross country twice. Great cruiser.
  22. Got the Piranha 'art box' version for $9.99, some Tamiya weathering kits for $2 each and some model train stuff cheap!!! And on top of that a MPC Space 1999 transporter at 40% off.......a good haul!!
  23. I use the sealer #1699 for most of my work.....and I use it as a 'scale' primer.......I do sand it. There is no one correct way....what works for me may not work for others. I just share what works for me......it or a variation of my way may work for others. thx
