  1. Love the 'Birds!! Nice work! Terry's Plymouth on US 74 Charlotte had one of each color in stock into 1971.....IIRC they ran adds i the paper offering them below sticker!! I told my Dad he NEEDED to buy one....he thought they were silly.......I reminded him for years of that 'oass'.......
  2. In the model train hobby people buy on speculation all the time. It's not looked down on.....Any one is allowed to buy when an item is produced....the fact you want one 4 years later means you may have to pay a price.....
  3. I have lots of Modlhaus product on my shelf and in my stash. I truly hate to see them go.......but fully understand. I've run model aftermarket businesses and it can run your life. The number of products they offered is mind boggling and will never be seen again. Thanks to Don and Carol.....God bless going forward.
  4. Don't want to shop there because they play 'Christian Muzak'.....fantastic.....means I get pick of the litter with my 40% off!!! I wish more folks in my area felt the same.......way too many kits sell out before I get to them!!! I figure we will soon see a '13 hours' type film exposing what's behind that Muzak!!!!
  5. Well said.....They do not wear their 'faith' on their shirt sleeves....if you understand that. And it is correct they play light pop christian based music.....but much of it is indistinguishable from typical retail muzak.....no in your face music, signage or verbiage. I boycott a number of movies if certain people are in the film. My loss.....or maybe the studio's loss of cash. Either way MY choice. I don't get om the net and rant about those actors....or the films....I just ignore and not pay my money. I wish Hobby Lobby was treated the same way. The retailer has done much less harm to this country than a number of 'famous' people have. I have a few friends that make a decent living working for HL......what's wrong with that?? Thanks.
  6. My kits are in the mail.....when they come I will compare to my 1/1 scale car and check the roof.....if wrong it will be easy to spot.
  7. Love it!!! I did a counter General model.......owned by two ladies from West Virginia...... General Grant!!!
  8. No....but the RR in my photo above is a RM kit based on the SB kit.
  9. NOT being rude........(showing my build) I really like this kit. Some say it's to simple....wrong scale (vs 1/25) but it builds well and looks spot on to me. I want to build a few more in other colors....but only one so far/ I'll be watching.....
  10. I have been in the hobby business in many different forms since 1980. It started working on my days off in a buddy's hobby shop to today doing freelance work for the manufactures. During the late 1980's I was part owner of DNL Hobbies which was the manufacturing arm of Deb's Model Emporium hobby shop in Charlotte NC. We did a lot of business with Steven's Intl. We even went to Steven's twice for big close out sales buying LOTS of OOP imported kits and accessories. IIRC Steven's carried our DNL line at one time. Good to have you here.
  11. His last FB post was odd to say the least.......it will never happen....
  12. Been tempted to try this since the 70's.....be watching!!!
  13. Future as clear since 1983.....no yellow yet....but could happen....someday.....
  14. I've had my own battles over the years so I fully understand. Prayers to you it all goes well with least down time.
  15. I always tell them my 46 Ford needs some work......'click'....
  16. I like the scammers that leave a message that sounds like a cross of Yoda, Tarzan and Frankenstein!!! 'Call us you must...or fine will be greatly expanded....only call once we will....WARNING!' I PLAYED IT 20 TIMES BEFORE i DELETED IT.....HOW DID THEY NOT TRICK ME WITH SUCH A AUTHENTIC MESSAGE!!!
  17. A REALLY interesting project!!!
  18. Think what things would be like if scammers put half the effort into positive helpful activity???
  19. To add to....... The Daytona body work had been perfected building the Charger 500......so it was more 'finished'. The Superbird was kinda thrown together so Petty would return to Plymouth....otherwise he'd stayed with Ford and history may be very different. Roof was somewhat 'rough' and the front fenders were old Dodge units.
  20. GREAT interior!!!! I like the kit.....maybe wish it was 1/25......but builds great!
  21. I have a few M&S kits.......but they are now beyond my price point........another reason I myself left the biz...... BTW.....M&S kits are very nice....so those that can afford...go for it!
  22. The LTD II shares A pillars and windshield/roof front with S&H so something to start with....but more than I am able to do.
  23. Wish someone would do a plastic 77 Thunderbird......we could use it as a start for a number of conversions.
