ebay is not the cause of local shows getting smaller, shops closing or other issue it gets blamed for. As a Sr Analyst for the number one bank in the US (now retired) change is the only constant in retailing. In another 20 years, if we are still here, no one born before 1970 we recognize retailing in any way...... CHANGE created ebay, amazon and others....they alone did not create this change. -

Like many things in life ebay is a blessing and a curse. All depends how you use it. I have a number of items I bought off ebay I could not have gotten any other way. Use ADVANCED search to block results from some sellers. A true deal from ebay I just LOVE....never found it local. -
Congrats to him........love them Chargers.....

I have a number of those kits.........I sought them out after I bought my 1/1 scale Smart Fortwo. The kit is the Euro car which shares nothing with the US model body wise and few mechanicals. I owned two of them and sold both but never for few of it's safety. I sold them because I was 4-5 hours from a dealership and MB made many items on the car serviceable only by MB.....which I dislike so sold them. But when I owned them and was active in the Smart car clubs I saw a number of photos of real Smarts involved in bad wrecks.....they did shed wheels and tires as such and even some of the plastic panels but even in wrecks involving much bigger vehicles, even a few 18 wheelers, never a serious injury.....not among club members. I think they are safe.....but a PAIN to maintain. -
USPS Employees Nailed For Stealing Mail
Dave Van replied to Quick GMC's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
I bought a 1/43 die cast car from a seller in the UK once. It was sent registered mail as it was not cheap. Seller put 'gold car' in customs description. (it was a Lotus painted gold) Needless to say it never made it to me. Got my money back but USPS was not really interested in finding out the what or why it went missing. Pretty sure they know they have thieves on staff but easier to pay out than find issue. -

I used to visit Hobby Town store when I traveled. I had 6-7 stores I'd visit on a regular basis. ALL are closed now. A franchised hobby shop is not a good thing.....you pay a percentage of your sales to someone else??? Margins are slim enough already. This from someone that ran shops for many years.

I'll buy 1 or 2 of these.....but when we get a version with a stock hood......many!!!

Wait a minute........I am a big winner and I only been in one casino!!!!! In 2014 the HET National convention was held at a resort that had a small casino. One day we had about two hours to kill....the casino was ice cold (it was almost 100 outside) so we went in the casino......never been to one since I was in Vegas with my folks at age 5. put a dollar in the penny slot machine.....played for almost two hours....walked away with $1.78....almost doubled my money!!! -

People in this country think 'free everything' doesn't cost anybody anything. When a recent candidate offered 'free' college, health care, and phones......I, as a retired bank analyst, looked at how this could happen. I found that countries like those Luc live in have a 50 to 62% tax rate. WHY folks in the USA think it's all free without a COST. Thanks Luc......I understand. You really want to come here....I'd be first in line to help. -

Luc and I have known each other 10 years or more. Meeting in person a few times even. What the folks in West Virginia are truly made of was brought to a bright light around June 23 2016. Long story short....after 10 inches of rain in about two hours we were caught about 70 miles from home after a morning doctor appt. The one road home was under water....we spent the night in a parking lot 50 miles from home. No lights it could have gone bad.....but the many other trapped all checked on each other....including a number of pro Quad racing teams trapped with us. Shared what each of us had. Come daylight we headed home. The bridge that was under water could be seen but condition unknown. A few guys that knew something walked it....cleaned debris....then drove it before all were aloud to pass. Almost home....a large tree had fallen across the road. One guy was there when we drove up. As other on both sides of the tree arrived....someone had a small finish saw...many took turns trimming limbs until there was a 'tunnel under the trunk we could drive through. While I was wheelchair bound for 2 years....my trash got taken to the dump, grass cut while I was at a Dr appt, even rain gutters clean out w/o me asking or any one wanting credit. So that bad rep is far from correct.....but that's OK to most here as it makes most outsiders leave us ALONE!!! THX jUNE 23 i-64 under water. -

You could live here if you wanted........ We are not as hate filled or ugly as we may be portrayed in places. I had a good number of Brits working for me back at the bank. They loved it and stayed. It helped they were cars guys fr the most part. ANY good tech person can find a job stateside.....as long as you are average and want to work.....very hard in many areas to get folks that have the knowledge and want to work. As for nurses....I have 4 - 5 head hunters calling everyday to my house because my wife is a RN/BSN with two specialties . Another hard job that many do not want to do today. I am sure the two of you could find work easy....but I am sure it is very different culture wise..... sorry for derailing the topic
