  1. Went yesterday to my HL.....well stocked.....did have a number of kits marked down.......picked up a AMT 1923 Ford delivery van for $14......decent deal.
  2. Just had my full eye work up last week.....could not see for a day!!!! But modern eye care has come a long way....Mom went blind before she passed with issues that are today cured. Good luck!!
  3. Manufacturing in the US can be done and done well. Last month I visited the Ford Rouge plant (Dearborn) where all Ford F-150's are built.......a fantastic plant (you can tour) that builds great vehicles. (I own one FY I) There are things that need change I will not get into for fear of a major political meltdown. Toyota and Honda build cars and components here so things can change. BTW I gave up on Chrysler around the MB buyout.....down hill since....very sad.
  4. Me three!!!! But folks say something major is missing. Advent and AHM have had these molds.....may be they got damaged or missing parts.
  5. I have all of those Corvair based showrods. They build up fine with only the front axle ever giving me any issues..... This started as a ebay junker.......
  6. Not mine......My buddy TK finished this recent reissue. We both love these kits.....he finished one first!!! Box stock other than plug wires. Thanks John G for the reissue!!!!
  7. I pray all goes well for you. I have had over 20 laser eye treatments.......not fun at all for sure.....a number of them involved an injection in my eye.....really hated that!!!. In a way you are lucky....Mom had the same thing happen in the 1970's and it laid her up for months.....so thing are much better today. Eye care has come a long way. Good luck.
  8. These kits never looked so good!!!!!
  9. Try a search of forum.....I know we have talked about this before....not very positive reviews IIRC
  10. The 1/1 stock coupe roof is a bit odd......very complex set of curves side to side and front to back.......then there is a complex curve of the 'C' pillars. check my 1/1 a few posts back!!!!
  11. Got notice they are on the way!!!
  12. Great info/pics!!! thx
  13. Oh....I agree........in fact I think comparing photos almost never really works. When I take the new Revell body out to the barn and my 1/1 46 coupe......it looks good to me. I think you have a good critical eye and have seen a good number of 1/1 cars. thx
  14. Don't leave us hangin Tim......what do YOU think!!!
  15. OK.....I got my kits Friday but had a family reunion and a car show this weekend. I got the kit out today.....and to me it looks 100% dead on. Not all will agree.....fine.....but I have done design work in the kit field and I doubt there is any correction I'd make to the Revell kit. You can take a photo that will show the Revell kit as correct or just as easy to take a photo that show the Revell kit as inaccurate. My PERSONAL opinion is it's a great tool modification. Notice my 46, same as 48, has the roof 'hump' some have accused the Revell kit of having!!!! Maybe Ford messed up in 46!!! Thanks
  16. Kinda sounds like the UNC staff member reminding all at the college that asking simple questions like 'Do you play golf' was racist and insensitive. Lets not get hyper sensitive over simple things.
  17. Love the 'Birds!! Nice work! Terry's Plymouth on US 74 Charlotte had one of each color in stock into 1971.....IIRC they ran adds i the paper offering them below sticker!! I told my Dad he NEEDED to buy one....he thought they were silly.......I reminded him for years of that 'oass'.......
  18. In the model train hobby people buy on speculation all the time. It's not looked down on.....Any one is allowed to buy when an item is produced....the fact you want one 4 years later means you may have to pay a price.....
  19. I have lots of Modlhaus product on my shelf and in my stash. I truly hate to see them go.......but fully understand. I've run model aftermarket businesses and it can run your life. The number of products they offered is mind boggling and will never be seen again. Thanks to Don and Carol.....God bless going forward.
  20. Don't want to shop there because they play 'Christian Muzak'.....fantastic.....means I get pick of the litter with my 40% off!!! I wish more folks in my area felt the same.......way too many kits sell out before I get to them!!! I figure we will soon see a '13 hours' type film exposing what's behind that Muzak!!!!
  21. Well said.....They do not wear their 'faith' on their shirt sleeves....if you understand that. And it is correct they play light pop christian based music.....but much of it is indistinguishable from typical retail muzak.....no in your face music, signage or verbiage. I boycott a number of movies if certain people are in the film. My loss.....or maybe the studio's loss of cash. Either way MY choice. I don't get om the net and rant about those actors....or the films....I just ignore and not pay my money. I wish Hobby Lobby was treated the same way. The retailer has done much less harm to this country than a number of 'famous' people have. I have a few friends that make a decent living working for HL......what's wrong with that?? Thanks.
