Revell 30 Model A Ford Production Halted?
Dave Van replied to Daddyfink's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Kinda on topic. Go out there and look up the laws in China. Some interesting and scary laws about true ownership of items CREATED in China. Lets say I hope we stay friendly with them. -
Great concept!

Rattle can painting outside
Dave Van replied to SamBred's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
You must be near me!!! I am on the VA/WV line. I'll paint in my garage at anything above freezing but not bodies. Chassis and parts look OK but bodies I'll just wait until low 50's day. My garage is unheated and drafty so it's close to outside!! -
My 2.5 car garage would only hold one car. Three pick-up truck trips tot he dump and I may get two in it. Thousands of magazines went in one load. (recycle bin at dump) Real car, model car, model train etc etc since no one wanted them for free. I hope I don't regret purging that many magazines someday. Some items were Dad's estate stuff...old broken tools etc......kept holding on to them.....but figured it was time to let go.

Grew up in a 63 Lark wagon with the sliding roof. So all Studie's hold a soft spot for me. We drove it, my parents did, cross country twice. Great cruiser. -

Got the Piranha 'art box' version for $9.99, some Tamiya weathering kits for $2 each and some model train stuff cheap!!! And on top of that a MPC Space 1999 transporter at 40% off.......a good haul!! -
Thanks Guy, I bought the AT-ACT, cargo version of the AT-AT, and it went together much as the U wing. No painting on the AT-ACT but molded in two colors. Bet thing is the model is fully articulated and is very solid. It could almost be used to film stop action it works so well. Can't wait for the film.

I have a lot of stuff I'd like to move.....but it's low priced stuff that once you count my time, Paypal fees, ebay fees, shipping.......you end up with almost nothing. So they sit in the basement. -
2 weeks ago at Petersen....for color ref...... Great work!!!! I built a number of these for AM to use as display and a few went to McLaren HQ. NOT an easy build. PS if you ever want one get them......molds are gone per folks that know.

ebay is not the cause of local shows getting smaller, shops closing or other issue it gets blamed for. As a Sr Analyst for the number one bank in the US (now retired) change is the only constant in retailing. In another 20 years, if we are still here, no one born before 1970 we recognize retailing in any way...... CHANGE created ebay, amazon and others....they alone did not create this change. -

Like many things in life ebay is a blessing and a curse. All depends how you use it. I have a number of items I bought off ebay I could not have gotten any other way. Use ADVANCED search to block results from some sellers. A true deal from ebay I just LOVE....never found it local.
