  1. I have been pondering this very question myself. The new Corvette ZR1 kit does not come with carbon fiber decals in the kit. Can I use SMS decals and STILL be legal for OOB class? The 1:1 car utilizes c.f. everywhere, and painting it black would look horrible. Judging by the rule book, it seems like I would be okay.
  2. Nice work, Ryan! The purple looks really good on this 'bird. Hate to see that '34 leave your avatar, though!
  3. As cool as some are, I just don't have the room. When the man cave is completed there will hardly be any room on the walls with the built kits I have, let alone boxes!
  4. Prayers and best wishes to you and your wife, Johnny.
  5. Awesome job, Raoul! That color is great and your carbon fiber work looks top notch! This is my next project after my SWC Willys, and seeing yours has definitely got me stoked about building this kit! Thanks for sharing. Ed
  6. Great job on her, Mat! I am glad you were able to get one and build it, that's what this hobby is all about!
  7. The "Hero Edition" Vette was a one-off black and red striped ZR-1 that was raffled off for a childrens charity. If you won, you also got a '67 Vette in matching colors. Very cool!
  8. Thanks for the pics! I have been waiting for this kit and have two saved for me at Hobby Town! It's nice to see Revell getting the details right lately.
  9. Have fun, Fuzion! I enjoy the Smokies and I know you will too! Be sure to hit up the Nascar race park while you are there!
  10. Great question! I post because I like to get opinions and critiques on my stuff I'm building. I don't get offended if somebody doesn't like it or they pick out a flaw, it makes me look at it and try to correct it for next time. I guess because I can't organize a club here in town it makes me post, too. You guys and gals are my model car club, and I think all of us, no matter how well or poor we build, like to show off our stuff from time to time! As far as commenting on here, I like to see what other people are building and commend them for their work.
  11. I'll be going this year, but I don't know if I will show or not. Depends on whether or not I get three sets of rims in time. Great show and a good place to find a great deal on your next project. See ya there!
  12. I'm not saying a cheaper Vette, but one that can be competitive on the world market. A little smaller to fit on european roads,a great interior, and handling that is world class. Corvette racing competes with Ferrari, Porsche, and BMW on the track, and they have no problem selling high end sports cars. The perception is that the Vette is very capable, but plays second fiddle to the other marques in terms of quality and craftsmanship. Do what it takes to make this car and charge accordingly. Bowling Green has no problem pumping these babies out right now, so the market is definitely there. But Chevrolet can not sit by and continue to let their demographic get older and older, then you will be building Buicks! The ZR-1 is a step in that direction, and even at $100k it is still a bargain for the money! It can be done and should be done!
  13. I really like the lines on this car, but if I had the means, I would not buy one. Would be a short lived fad, and I would lose alot of money trying to get rid of it! Being a really big fan of Corvette, I am always trying to gather as much info on the C7 as possible. It is still too early in the process to see where they are headed. I am in the camp of people that say the Corvette should be a world car and appeal to more people than the demographic it currently does. The "sideswipe" car from the Transformers 2 movie was cool, butprobably wouldn't play on a world stage. If they can do this, there are no limits to what the next Corvette can achieve whether it be at the track or on the showroom floor.
  14. That is incredible, dude! The blue sutis the car so well, and those wheels look right at home! Well done!
  15. Beautiful car! I too have purchased this kit, opened it, looked around, then promptly put the top back on it! Knowing what you started out with makes this Caddy that much more impressive! Great paint and excellent attention to detail!
  16. The Avanti is a true classic beauty, this design will be fresh 100 years from now. Nice resto on a great kit!
  17. It is a great magazine! The vintage car show pics are the best! I also read that they are trying to go subscription based, but it would be like $49.00 for a year to keep the content up and the advertising low. A small price to pay for all that inspiration! I really like Rod and Kulture as well. It is a bi-monthly and has alot of great pictures and articles.
  18. Everyone on this forum is an inspiration for me to build better models and work on the little things that produce better results. With that said, the two builders who I admire the most are Clay Kemp and David Thibodeau. I always thought Clay did amazing work until I saw his builds in person and was totally blown away by all the details. David is my favorite painter and there is not a week that goes by that I don't go to his fotki account and check out something for a reference pic.
  19. Bob, impeccable job as always! This car looks killer in white with the black roof! I will be waiting for the RoG kit to come out after hearing all of the issues with this release. Fujimi is either hit or miss. I just built their Volkswagen GTI and this thing was uber detailed inside, so it's kinda confusing to me why they would "cheap out" on this interior. Probably just wanted to beat Revell to market with this one! Anyway, great job again and keep 'em coming!
  20. Dan, superb job on this 'ol beater! Really like the work you have put into this!
  21. This is a great model! You have done a wonderful job on it, the paint and wheels look really good!
  22. Nice job, Mike! Rally cars and Japanese GT cars are some of my favorites, and this Mitsu looks awesome!
  23. Nice work on a great Jeep! Really like the weathering on it.

Thanks, Mike! Now I gotta go and buy one of these for myself! Awesome job, the orange looks perfect on it!
  25. James, wonderful job as always! The paint looks like a close match to the real car. Excellent save on the wheels, too! This is my favorite kit, I have the Badboyvettes livery, Luc Alphand, and the Ron Fellows tribute edition to do, but thanks for sharing yours for the inspiration!
