  1. I always enjoy seeing models of classics. You did a great job building on this Bentley which definitely was an awesome car for its time. I once got placed behind a Bentley from the same era with dualie rear wheels and tires for what I had hoped would be fast parade laps of Pacific Raceways. I was in my 65 Falcon V8 4-speed. I figured I would never have a chance to get up to speed but it turned out the Bentley was driven by the Chief Track Marshall and that car had a huge amount of torque and the weight and extra tires meant it really stuck through the corners. I Had to hustle to keep up. It was a real surprise.
  2. Looks like it came right out of a 63 Ford sales brochure!
  3. Looks like a Lotus 30
  4. Very sharp looking Golf. I owned a VR6 GTI for many years so the R32 was my dream car.
  5. That is one great looking first gen Falcon. Well built.
  6. You captured the look of a hot rodded Olds incredibly well
  7. I had no idea that MPC snap kit could be built as such a good looking Mercury
  8. I have always really liked that four hardtop design on all the GM name plates in 59 and 60 but you do not see them very often as models so great to see your Cady.
  9. Excellent in all respects
  10. I really enjoyed looking at your vast collection of Corvette models. Some very interesting builds.
  11. Beautiful period two tone
  12. Ever well done, good looking, very modern and radical update to the Europa.
  13. Thanks for the report Bernard. A friend was at the GNRS and said there were no models on Friday and only 2 on Saturday. When the GNRS was still in San Francisco there would be a big number of models on Sunday because you got in free if you brought a model and there would be model picks by full scale luminaries. [At least when I attended in 1999]. Hopefully there was a good turn out this year although like you say maybe resulting in fewer NNL West entries.
  14. This very potent 4-banger is certainly very well detailed
  15. Thanks guys - The actual car has been in the Reno car museum for a very long time but I am unsure of its history leading up to the movie in 1955 and before it went in the museum. It was at the Pebble Beach Concours a few years ago for the special Mercury class.
  16. Thanks Ray - The previous builder started doing the chrome on one door with Molotow but I only used it for the interior, the engine components and touch up. Whenever I do a BMF job I just think how lucky we are to have that product. Thanks David - The first really cool car I ever had a ride in as a kid was a new 58 Impala that inspired the model below. You are correct that the 58 Impala was one of the most custom looking stock car ever produced. Thanks Bernard - It really was a well engineered and engraved kit although my example had a lot of flash. This is the second one I have built. The first I did about a quarter of a century ago inspired by the car mentioned above. There was a Revell 58 released a few years ago that was apparently based on a diecast. Thanks Larry Thanks Oliver - It would be pretty straight forward to build a replica of Steve Bolander's Impala from this kit just needing chrome wheels and 59 Cadillac taillights. The red trim decal did not go on well. The carrier turned white and wrinkled in places. Had to trim it with an Exacto and apply Future so keep it adhered.
  17. This my second completion of the year. There was also a Secret Santa draw for unfinished kits. I got this already painted AMT 58 Impala. I finished it from the box only adding different wheels, tires and exhaust tips. The kit came with opening doors but no rear-view mirrors.
  18. Awesome livery on an excellent model
  19. Thanks guys. It was a surprisingly fun project.
  20. Very commendable first attempt. I think I saw that the Uncertain T real or replica is at the Grand National Roadster Show this weekend.
  21. I got this kit in a Secret Santa kit exchange. It was built as a near replica of the car the James Dean character drove in the 1955 movie Rebel Without A Cause. It was built directly from the box except for the center hood bead that I did by cutting a groove and embedding wire. The paint is Tamiya spray can black and the white walls were brush painted. I even watched the movie during the build process. It is a pretty nice kit with posable front wheels and an opening trunk. The first time I built this kit over a quarter of a century ago, I chopped the top. In the meantime the great Revell kit was released.
  22. Great looking Supra. Is that the way it sits out of the box or did you lower it ?
  23. Congratulation on another cool completion. I was always attracted to Desotos because they were rarely seen where I lived in Canada.
  24. I really like your interior and engine enhancement. Great job on first attempt at Ghost Flames - something I would be reluctant to try.
