Drive your Chevrolet to the levee...
Jared Roach replied to sjordan2's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Ok cool replie man! I didn't say anything about welfare, and it wasen't gm's fault, it was retard Rick wagoner who screws up the whole company, makes people like you hate it, then goes and quits. What I'm saying is I really don't care what the company is in finachially, if I like the car, I'm gonna buy it, simple. Gm and Chrysler vehicales are way better looking in my opion then Toyota or ford, when I see a new ford, I think, "look at me, I got plastic bling bling". Oh and btw, I'm from canada, driving my good ol' gm automobile, do I care, no. -

Exectly^^^^ Now, I don't like the new rides they produce much, but give me a brand new silverado(don't even mention ford, I hate em and think there ugly), or there 10-15 year old products, I'm fine with it. Why do people like me support automaker using tax money to say alive, is because I have been around gm vehicales all my life, and always buy gm. Why you ask???? Simple. Everybody has a choice and a opinion, and that's mine. I don't think GM is going in the can any time soon, think about it, if there weren't people out there like me who would accually support them, then they would never get back to normal and wold STILL be taking ball outs, Like I said give it up. -
UPDATE! Not much, but I got it painted, yes the paint looks outta scale, do I care, nope, I like it, and that's all I got done, gotta get some of the dust out, then one more coat, and then clear Thanks for lookin.

You know what, I'll bite and leave a comment. This is pretty stupid on gm's part, but some of you guy's need to give it up. Yea we know that they've been in the hole asking for money, so u don't have to bring it up over and over again. Alot of people say gm's worst time of vehicales was in the 80- early 00's, but all for there own. I my self LOVE my 99 sonoma, just love it because it's a gm. I eventually wanna drop in a 350, and do other numerous things to it. One more thing, everybody saying "I'm going to the ford dealership next" is getting really annoying, do we really care, NO!!! I like all domestic cars, and every car now a days is made in foriegn parts of the world, and I also Canada isn't really "foriegn", just thought I'd let everybody know that this is a bunch of stupid stuff, and give it up about gm, we still don't here complaining over toyota's "problems". I'm just getting real sick and tired of the childish comments and such. -
Here's what I'm working on: The Tamiya morris mini. I had to fix the cowel, which was broken when I opened the box. Have to fix the hole in the floor(my fault, was gonna do something different, but changed my mind) and got it primed. The Roof decal I printed off and I think it turned out pretty good. I got the front suspension/engine done as far as I can till I get it attached to the chassis. I also got the exhaust done: It's gonna be the silver and the cleared with the wet look clear: This is my FIRST Tamiya kit ever, and so far I'm really liking it. The only problem so far was the broken cowel, but that was a easy fix. I will not have many updates over the next 2 weeks, because of exams and stupid stuff, but I'll keep you guys posted. Thanks for lookin.

Oh my, wow! Man Im loving your build of this already! I'm a HUGE fan of s-series trucks and I own a 99 sonoma, and the detail your doing is sweet. I have a question? Did you take the kit's front k-memeber and used it in the back? or just the t-bars? Do you have any pics of the front suspension? Did you modifiy it any? I'm very interested in this and can't wait to see it done, because I have this kit waiting and want to do it stock, so let me know. P.S.: Do you know which number your syclone was? Because it probly in the syclone/Typhoon data base.
-
Ok guys, got it done, and not happy. This kit fits together so bad, look at the gap in the rear bumper, yea... grill looks like garbage, taillights do too, didn't come with side mirror glass, and the did I already mention FIT ISSUES!!! What I do like about the kit, not much, but it is a different piece of subject material and love my lisence plate I made, it's a nova scotias plate that says "YJ GOAT", came out great, and thats about it. Near the end I got sick of looking at it and just through it together, but what ever, it's been staring at me since december. here it is, almost didn't even want to show it here, but I know some guys were waiting, so here it is: Now on to my Tamyia morris mini, and hopefully it will go together WAY better. Thanks for lookin.

Anyone up for a new CBP... edited street trucks in
Jared Roach replied to mopar01lee's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Cool build idea! But I think it is limiting ALOT of participation. Buy saying no street trucks, "stuff has to be scratchbuilt or kit bashed". When I get my 1:1 truck to were I want it someday, it will kick alot of stuff on the strip, but will still be street legal. Also, think about this, what about the 1991 GMC Syclone?? Can do STOCK the quarter-mile run in 13.4 seconds, and some very minor mods and you can get into low 12's EASILY. What I'm saying is that mini trucks done as all out 9-8 second drag trucks is rare, but there is many people that would do it if you could build it as a "drive to work mon-fri, on the weekends go racing". -
Looks good so far! I say go with this combo:

ok guys, go a quick update. Desided to just leave it as is, but am probly going to do the rims in black, but not sure yet. It's almost done, just gotta finish the side window trim, and the engine bay in black, then I can polish and and put it together. The interior, and chassis is now done. Yes, I do have the shifter, just forgot abbout it. Before I get to polishing. Thanks for lookin

GMC SONOMA 1/20
Jared Roach replied to baddgass's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
That's very sweet, I love it, don't like the wing but it still looks cool. What if you a red stripe on the lip of the rim to make it stand out some? -
Now That is really cool, I like it.

GMC Syclone
Jared Roach replied to Customizer's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Makes me wanna start mine Now, but have other stuff to finish first. Very NICE build . -
ok guys, got an update: Just desided to mock it up with new wheels. It is now cleared, and I choose to use wheels from the amt 300c and I'm gonna paint the spokes charcol or black, don't know yet. I might do black rally stripes, or a black super stripe, don't know yet. Also finished the valve covers and intake piece, and hand painted GTO on it. My hood has on it two faint black marks on it, not very notcibe but there. I find yellow is the hardest to paint, I like painting black even better then this, and I hate painting black! Here's some mock up pics: So guys let me know about the stripes and the wheel color, because I'm undesided. I gotta wait a bit before I polish it out and tape it up and paint the window trim. Thanks for looking.

93 chevy x-cab 4x4
Jared Roach replied to cobra98's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Looks good so far! I wouldn't use the topper, I think they look dumb on pick ups. You can also buy 1:1 toppers with no windows, so ya -
GMC Syclone
Jared Roach replied to Customizer's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Very cool! I picked up the reissue a bit ago, and it looks awesome. Do you have any engine, chassis, interior pics??? -
Ok update, got some color! But it needs a few more coats and then clear, and it is the same color as the preveous pics, just different light. It looks alot better in person then it does on camera, when it's finished I will get some outside pics. Allso got the black painted on the engine covers, now I just gotta tape it up again and painnt the intake black. Thanks for looking.

Never seen this build before, very cool build Nick and good job!
-
Very cool! I just love to see stuff like this built, stuff that you usally don't see often. Plus I love cars from the 80's and 90's.
-
looks awesome, can't wait to see it finished. I have this kit, took the v8, and it's now in a mini, and I'm making the rest of mine into a replica of my mom's old non-turbo '90, but the interior is totally different. This is my favorite style daytona too, so i'll be watching
