  1. Stef, I should have noted the Linberg Corvette is 1/18 scale. Here is the 57 Checkerboard, Walmart Exclusive box. At least I didn't see it with the other 57's??? And a better photo of the 32 Chevy Tom
  2. 1) Was your introduction to modeling at home? Yes 2) From whom? Older brothers 3) What kind of models (cars, planes, trains, etc)? Cars 4) What did the person who introduced you to modeling do for a living ? Students 5) How old were you? 8-10 6) About what year was your introduction? Late 50's
  3. I'm not sure what year it is, Sorry The yellow 89 I posted earlier was also made as a 1990, Corvette did not make the 89 ZR-1 and rumor was corvette had Ertl destroy the 89's but couldn't have been all of them. The Corvette pros on here may be of more help.
  4. I didn't see this one on the list.
  5. Here is the 89 ZR-1 made when it was originally to come out. 1962 50th Anniversary set. I should have all the 50th Anniversary kits. AzTom
  6. If you can live with diecast, First Gear made a very nice one.
  7. You do learn something here every day. I have been using Spot & Glaze putty on models and real cars for 40 years and never saw a two part type. The tube I have looks like that tube, but not sure about the "Professional" name. That said, it's probably 10+ years old. Mine is red and dries in minutes. I like it because you don't have to mix it and it dries quick.
  8. Welcome. Looking forward to seeing your models
  9. Here is the 48 Chrysler in Cream. Having dog leg hinges and very little detail underneath, I'm not sure they will sell that well at that price point.
  10. Motorcity Classics has announced it will be running some of their 1/18 line again after several years of producing nothing. Here is a list of the cars coming, the Good News! SKU# Name Color Scale Pack Size MSRP 11161 1931 Ford Tudor Chicle Drab $ 115.00 11162 1931 Ford Tudor Rubelite Red $ 115.00 12251 1931 Ford Model A Coupe Rubelite Red $ 115.00 12371 Camper Aluminum $ 120.00 12451 1931 Ford Tow Truck Weathered $ 120.00 12511 1931 Ford Roadster Stone Brown $ 110.00 12681 1932 Lincoln KB Duchess Blue $ 120.00 12682 1932 Lincoln KB Soft Top Up Rubelite Red $ 120.00 12741 1931 Ford Pickup Hessian Blue $ 110.00 12821 1948 Chrysler Town and Country Sumac Red $ 120.00 12941 1957 Studebaker Golden Hawk Tiara Gold $ 120.00 12942 1957 Studebaker Golden Hawk Arctic White $ 120.00 13121 1949 Ford Woody Meadow Green $ 120.00 13241 1939 Chevy Woody Permanent Red $ 120.00 The not so good news, The price has jump significantly and they are the exact same colors they were done in before. That I don't understand. Change the colors and have a chance to sell one to a collector that may already have one of the lod ones, like me. I have everyone one of these.
  11. July of this year. For you 1/64 guys they made a some pickups a few years ago that are very nice. I can post a list if interested. And some cool hot rods.
  12. #1 I have had good results with Alclad although I have not used on the cars I play with. #2 I also use the #11 blade backwards, but snap about an 1/16in of the tip off first. Easier to control and cuts better. #3 I like the Line-O-Lot tapes, comes in sizes from .10 to 1/2 in wide.
  13. Jim, The Bondo brand Spot & Glaze putty you show here does not use a hardner. It will set in minutes right out of the tube if used as intended, thin coats.
  14. Welcome, Some great builders on here.
  15. Thanks Manny, I have a stake bed on that truck as well. I just haven't decided what I wanted to do with them yet, really need to learn the weathering finishes. Chevys just look natural rusty
  16. Sure a lot of Ohio ties on here. Welcome from one more, Garrettsville in the NE. Tom
  17. Welcome Tony, My Grandmother parked cars at the Flea market in Hartville until she was 92. I grew up NE of there in Garrettsville, Tom-C-Toys. Looking forward to your builds. AzTom
  18. I just received a note from my friend at Yat Ming USA. Yat Ming had a few higher detailed cars but also had many low end cars that were done very well, including my favorite, the 41 Willys in 1/18 scale. Here is a copy paste of the note: "Dear Valued Customer, As the toy industry tries to stay afloat, some factories struggle to remain open. This time it is Yat Ming factory who will have to part ways and close its doors. Effective July 2013, Yat Ming will close the factory and leave the business of manufacturing die cast products." This is so sad. Get them while you can. AzTom
  19. Very Nice. I have a ton of 1/43 but none of these American Excellence resin cars. I may have to fix that
  20. Nice! Is that the plastic Mobil roll off truck?
  21. Nice, wouldn't that be the Find.
  22. Mike, That is Awesome! I did a street version type gasser and have one set a side for a true gasser. I like the lift off front end, didn't think that far into the project yet. Tom
