  1. Good Idea Randy. I hope you post it here.
  2. I picked up a Lotus and a Ford Benetton Tamiya kit in 1/20 scale. Is anyone here familiar with these kit, mainly the engines. I would like to know if they could be used in a 30's hot rod and look right. Also got this but I'm sure I'll never build it.
  3. Still one of my favorites Mike, I kind of need one that scale, I have a 1/64 diecast, a 1/43 diecast, a 1/25 model, a 1/18 diecast ... I may even have an HO Slot car.
  4. Nice! I have not seen these yet, but I don't get out much either, lol Thanks for posting Randy.
  5. Nice job Manny, the burn out looks so real. I am quite aware of the diecast cancer but this is the first i've heard of it on Danbury. I don't have this Camaro but I have all the pickups, hope they are ok.
  6. Welcome Mason,
  7. Nice job, You sure know how to wreck a car,lol
  8. You did a great job on the rust, looks real. The only issue I see is too much rust. The Stainless, aluminum and pot metal trim will not rust.
  9. I do see a lot of the F-150's. The stretch of I-10 from Dysart to Verrado Way has the unmarked cars catching speeders. I go through there three times a week and one has a car pulled over just about every time.
  10. I hope you finger heals ok. I like the car, especially the welded doors and seat belts.
  11. Very Nice, looks real. What is the deal with the LRP's mounted on the trunk? I have never seen that before. Here in the West Valley of Phoenix, DPS is using plain wrappers, not only are they not mark but they are using maroon mini vans, blue compact sedans and several other plain family type cars and pickups.
  12. Very Nice work!
  13. Not the type you show there. They are nothing more than a large bath fan type motor. Jenn-Air and I'm sure others make high end kitchen fans that do use a large squirrel cage blower, good for a large booth. I think they are 6in duct.
  14. Dale, On the squirrel cage fan the motor and all electrical connections are outside the flow of the flammable exhaust. A loose wire connection, even on 12volt, can cause plenty of spark to ignite paint fumes. On real explosion proof motors the electrical box is also explosion proof as well as the conduit feeding the motor. The conduit is sealed with a special fitting that is packed with a fiber wadding and poured with a cement made for that purpose so vapors can't enter the electrical system. Open light bulbs near the spray is also a very dangerous situation. I have been criticized on here about going overboard on safety, but having been a state licensed electrical contractor for 30 years, I've seen way too many disasters from improper wiring. You can NEVER be too safe!
  15. That one is only 53 CFM. but the correct type of fan
  16. I darkened the dark colors to make it easier to count the block. I would say these are standard 16x8 molded face block. The man door is 11 block high (11 x 8.5 = 93") the door knob 5 block (5 x 8.5 = 42.5in). That would be a standard commercial door around that time, 7'9" door, probable 32" wide. The Garage door looks to be 8' x 8' Did you find out what fire truck they used? http://images46.fotki.com/v28/photos/1/1403291/11775965/FireHouse2-vi.jpg Anyone know why the Fotki "Code for forums" is not working?
  17. As stated above the inline fans are not a good idea, unless you are only spraying acrylics. The computer fans are not really safe either. ANY fan in the air flow would needs to be explosion proof, not practical for a home spray booth. Although the computer type fans are brushless they will still shoots sparks out when they decide to go bad. I have had a few burn up in my computer, it's not pretty. Go with the squirrel cage type and play it safe.
  18. Thanks. I think they look more like mufflers in the photos than they do in person. I'm going with them but I'm going to sand the end ridge a little to make it thinner. It's just great to be working on something.
  19. Okay, I know you think I forgot about this build, Shortly after starting this we decided it was time to move for the third time that "We are never doing that again". So we started building a new house and packing to old one. Almost a year later I'm finely getting my junk unpacked. Anyway, enough of the excuses, it's time to get started again, although I still have little time between getting house stuff setup. I kind of accidently came up with some mirrors and would like to know what you guys think. They don't need to look factory stock as the truck is a light custom. So what do you think, does it look proportional? Real?
  20. Thanks Guys. I lost the older one already, I figure I have a few years with this one,lol Right now he wants to start them all. I can get the decals from a guy in Utah but it's a 6 week deal ..... A VERY long time to a six year old
  21. That is looking great. Where are you getting the DPS decals? I need a set for a snap Chevy my Grandson built.
  22. Model Kit: $8.00 A day at the workbench with a proud 6yo Grandchild: PRICELESS He wants to have Arizona DPS decals, so I'm off looking.
  23. Isn't 5-6 inches a little close with a rattle can?
  24. I looks nice, Like the used look to it. iBorg, Your mail box is full. Contact me about 55 chevy parts.
