It's good the have you here Mike. I hope you do a WIP for us when you get started, I love wreckers. I hope to get started again, took the last year off getting moved for the third "Last time I'm ever doing that again" I was having a blast ripping diecast apart and have this 1/16 truck started.

The options are endless. For the the money it's hard to beat the acrylic cases like Carney Plastic makes http://www.carneyplastics.com/default.htm They make wall cases for 1/24 but I use their 10 car 1/18 case, they are deeper and allows more space above each model so they don't looked crammed in. The one on the right has 1/25 models in it. If you want them more decorative, say for the living room or den, add a wood trim frame around them like the one in the center of this photo. It's only 4 pcs of wood and slides over the case. Keep your eyes open at yard sales for old "Insider Storm Windows". Here's a wood frame I made with one several years age for some 1/43 cars.

Cool ramp truck. 1/25 semi wheels and tires are pretty close to 1 ton 1/18 tires. I have several photos of ramp truck saved for future projects.

Great start. I have this kit someplace as well. I had a real black 56 and a baby blue 73 back in the day. Had a lot of fun with both of them.

It's starting to come together nicely. I don't remember ever seeing a cutout in the door like that. What are the wheels off of? Here is one a friend of mine made several years ago from a 1/18 40 Ford.

Looks great! I have one of these on my bucket list as well. I picked up one at a show awhile back that someone started. I saw this one a BJ in 2009.

Ertl Made the Loadstar in 1/16 diecast.
