  1. Dude, if you have one in your hands scale it out and tell us.
  2. I have some photos of mine when it was unpacked. I did not scale it but it looked like 1/25 scale. SpecCast sold it as 1/25 and from my experience with SpecCast they normally run correct. Sorry I can't be of more help.
  3. Welcome back Russ. If you get to the model show this coming Saturday, look me up.
  4. Awesome! Having built all the Hubley kits, I really appreciate this being shared.
  5. I have a boat load of 1/18 junkers packed away but not sure about that one. I know I have goods one somewhere. I'll keep you in mind as I dig.
  6. Nice. I think I only have the pickups.
  7. Good one Dave. You have always confused me when you talked that high tech stuff you do.LOL Tom
  8. Awesome! The Woody is my favorite.
  9. I have several Norscott Cat items and they are very nicely done.
  10. I'm going to watch this one. I have a few of all the body styles made including the hod rods. My first one is going to made into a Doodle Bug so I'll get some practice on the cowl. Thanks for sharing

    Nice!
  12. Are the ones in the Ford C cabs kits close to those wheels?
  13. I stashed some of the Ertl 69 Camaros away in the original master carton when they came in new direct from Ertl. I had three each of the white with orange stripes and three of the orange with white stripes. The were up on the top shelf of our climate controlled stock room four about four years. I opened them and all the white one were cracked up in pieces and the orange ones were perfect. This has happened on numerous cars of mine where I packed them away when new and certain ones are now junk and other in the carton are fine. Most times it's not the entire car. Some may be the doors and hood while others in the same run could be the body bad and the hood and doors are fine. Here is a bad hood on a perfect car. You can see the rough finish and blisters. I broke this one with my thumb.
  14. It is bad diecast. I have had way too much experience with it. Moisture or temperature has nothing to do with the cause, although it may change the time it takes. There are certain diecast that this is a common on. The Ertl 69 Camaro cars are about the worst, some the entire runs fell apart. It starts out with what looks like uneven patches of diecast under the paint and kind of hard to see. Some will develop small blisters and some will just start cracking. At one time I had a list that was put together by a group of us and there were a few hundred different 1/18 models on it. The only thing you can do is use parts off of them to modify the ones that didn't fall apart. I should add that paint rash is another serious issue but that is just the paint and can be buffed out if not too bad. Very Sad!
  15. Welcome. I'm SW of Phoenix in Buckeye. Get some glue and have some fun!
  16. Very nice Harry.
  17. This is sad but there may be another side to the story. I don't know what the story is behind DM it but I could guess. As for GMP, I heard from a very good source that they lost that tooling because it wasn't paid for. They also lost their building in GA for the same reason. Ertl has had tooling in Singapore, China and Hong Kong since the late 60's and to my knowledge has never lost tooling there. There must be millions of molds in China by many American companies so I would think if these were taking for no reason this would be on the evening news. To the question about value of the existing DM. In my nearly 50 years of collecting I would say in general they will not skyrocket. If history repeats they will die. It seems if a collector has no future items to look forward to, they lose interest. You will have buyers but not enough for the amount of supply. That said, there will be a few that could go way up in value, just hard to say which cars will.
  18. Non Acetone nail polish remover works great and won't harm the paint. Please note that the nail polish remover is dated, old stuff is worthless.
  19. Thanks Frank. I hope future builds can show WIP
  20. I have been using 5 min for probably 15 years with good luck. I put the two halves of a diecast tractor together once and and realized the next day I forgot to put in the steering shaft. I broke the diecast trying to get it pried apart. This was a thin butt joint with no reinforcing. I have used styrene with good results.
  21. Those look great Frank. I have that Mustang kit and never looked at the tires, 7:10-15?? What was AMT thinking? The 1/25 scale semi tires look nice as well and will fit some of the 1/18 rims. I cast the steelies from the AG 55 Chevy.
  22. Very Nice. Do you have any Work in Progress photos? Sure would be great to see.
  23. Now that is cool. Did you widen the fenders? The 1/18 cab looks like it is scaled pretty good for a 1/16 truck. I have a 65 Ford Sun Star cab to convert to a 2 ton wrecker on my bucket list.
  24. Nice! Love these old Hubleys
