  1. Here is one I build in the 80's as a store display for the JLE reissue Hubley's.
  2. Wait a minute! Are you talking "Modified Die Cast classes" at the Phoenix Dessert Classic? I'm going to have to step up my game, lol
  3. There are a few 1/24, sorry about posting 1/25, in this series. They also make the 59 GMC Apache with the style side bed in 2wd version. I found the wheelbase of the real GMC 150 online and this scales out to 1/25 not 1/24 The bed is a 6.5 ft and scales out at 1/24 This truck is available in 1/64 in the same colors.
  4. Fry's, on Geezer day. They have a lot of the 1/64 M2 but seldom have the 1/25. Actually this one may have come from Wallymart, we were there also.
  5. I think it was around $19.00?? I got it buying groceries and just added it to wife's cart
  6. Cool, You can have a lot of fun doing these little cars.
  7. Good looking models. I have built at least one of every diecast Hubley except the Indy car. I have one of of those started. Then I got into customizing them and that was even more fun. I thought some of them were on here but just did a search and nothing came up. When Fotki clears up I'll post some.
  8. I do not know if they have a catalog but here is a link to their Fotki page. Fotki is having issues today so maybe try later if it doesn't come up. http://public.fotki.com/crstan/replican-and-miniat/replicas-and-miniat/
  9. Awesome! That sure looks better than my first attempt at brass, lol I'm going to follow this one for sure. Build It, They Will Come!
  10. The 1/18 line autoworld has is from the old Ertl molds. Ertl did a great job on all the Authentics that they produced so if you can find the color you like in the Ertl you could save you some money. The regular Ertl cars being produced by Autoworld are the same as Ertl for the most part except added paint detailing. Go with Highway 61 for the 70-71 Cuda. Here is a link to my Fotki page of Plymouth. http://public.fotki.com/aztom/toys--models/die-cast-118-cars--/118-chrysler-corp-1/118-plymouth-diecast/page5.html
  11. This is the M2 diecast pickup in 1/25 scale. It looks right but I have not scaled it out to be exact, does not matter that much to me. I do like that it has realistic type door hinges instead of the dogleg type. The hood hinges are dogleg type but are to the outside edge so they look ok. Feel free to ask questions.
  12. I don't get here every day, sometimes it may be a few weeks. I did just look at them and your write up is much better on the Buick creating more interest. The Buick is not as common as the Chevelle and may of been a factor. But, there is no doubt more people are going to see in the plastic section.
  13. They may respond in the other section out of courtesy but the lack of interest is still there. I have to think that most of the builders posting here are plastic and diecast guys.
  14. Xonex is still in business, they just don't make the models anymore.
  15. Except for the old Hubley kits about all the diecast kits are all plastic with metal bodies. I think about every diecast kit was originally a built diecast first. I would think it should be based on what the body is made of to make it simple. All the diecast should be here. It would not make sense that if I buy a built diecast and modify it would go here and If I bought the same car in a kit form it would go in the kit section. The more that get posted in this section, the better it will be.
  16. Very Nice! there's just something about saving one from the scrap that makes one even more special.
  17. AWESOME! Can't wait t see the magazine
  18. OH NO! The white walls have to stay Here is one my good friend Larry from Ohio did.
  19. Great looking cars. I like that you didn't over do it as the originals were not that great. Years ago I made cardboard spray masks to repaint tootsietoys so the over spray looked just like the originals did. I have probably a few hundred small diecast to do some day. A lot of Hubley, Tootsietoy, Dinky and anything else that looked fun.
  20. Here is a link to some of my 1/43 cars. http://public.fotki.com/aztom/toys--models/die-cast-143-cars---1/ Sample: Old Dinky
  21. I miss going to the show. I won this there a few years ago The cars are 1/18 Ertl diecast serial number to match the tool box. I understand the cost of the show but for me It was about more than seeing what was new from existing suppliers. Finding new items you may not have thought of or even knew was out there. Meeting the manufactures and suppliers face to face helped us a lot.
