  1. Wow! That Lincoln is taking brass modeling to the next level, unbelievable. Here is the work in progress. The AMX is a cool model I had not seen before. It is not solar powered though. It is battery operated car controlled by a photo cell, like the one in your "Dusk to Dawn" yard light.
  2. That's them, now I just need to find someone that wants to trade them for hidden headlight versions. Thanks
  3. I need to know the same thing. AMT had the regular grill but the body does not look very accurate. I want a few for the Revell kit. The AMT grill will not fit the Revell. Tom
  4. Thanks Jake, I knew they were 1/24 = 1/25, I guess it was the other thread I mentioned that. The sides come off the speccast bed and was hoping on just using them on the 1/24 bed. It would be a little short but I'll have to see if it looks right. That said, I just scaled out the size of the 1/24 and now I'm having second thought on getting one. This is a large truck and sitting next to 1/25 may look just too large. I may have to hook up with the local guys here and get a closer look. Rob, Thanks for the web info. That looks much better.
  5. Yes, I was aware of that. The desire for the Super Duty in a kit started in 1999. Hard to believe it took this long.
  6. SSB Resins has been making the Super Duty rescue trucks for some time now. http://ssbresins.com/index.php I wish this new one was 1/25 scale, it would make kit bashing easier.
  7. Wow! Not sure how I missed this one. My last Super Duty was a 2006 4wd dually and it's not a whole lot different than this one. It's closer than anything to date. The way the bed is made I wonder if they plan on Dually sides in the future. Does the grill angle back at the top as shown in the photos? I know it was mentioned that the built kit is just dry fit together but the grill is my concern as I have a diecast model that has the same possible issue. I plan on getting a few and modifying then to match my old 2004 extended cab single wheel and 2006 crew cab dually trucks. Speccast made a diecast dually extended cab I can rob a bed from.
  8. I'm ready for more.
  9. Ok, what am I missing here? I like the 48 Ford so I went to ebay and found only a few, none from China and all in the $200.00 range.
  10. Very Nice. Danno, the scale is in the title, 1/43. It would be nice if more information was given when posting models on here. I think these may be resin.
  11. Thanks guys. Ray, I sure hope to meet you some day.
  12. I know I'm late for the party but I got busy doing next to nothing. I had a great time at the show and enjoyed the awesome builds. I'm going to get back to the bench and get some stuff done for next year. Here are my photos. http://public.fotki.com/aztom/toys--models/plastic-model-cars-kits/model-contests/desert-scale-classi-5/ Sneak Peak: This one was built by John Teresi .... Incredible. For all that were involved in putting this show together, Thank you.
  13. Thanks Neal. I have used the white paper before but the Camaro script needs to show the body color under it.
  14. When I tried that several years ago, they looked good on paper but were kind of transparent and didn't show up on a black surface. Fred Caddy made the decals for the 1/18 Camaro but the ones for the front apron and the trunk were incorrect. Thanks
  15. Now that is cool! Nice build
  16. Very Nice!
  17. Nick, 4 5/8 in would = 4.625 x 25 = 115.625 in. I do think that would be correct for the 1/25 scale.
  18. Here you go, the man behind the car. Check out the model cars that Mike built. http://www.fabulousfurnitureon28.com/index.html
  19. Nick, you case use any measurement that you can find on the real truck. The wheel base is probably the easiest to find but overall length should be on-line. You can multiply the 7 in by 25 (1/25 scale) and get 175 inches. If the truck is true to 1/25 scale it should match the real trucks overall dimension for that year. You can do the same with the wheel base measured from center to center of the wheels. Hope that helps.
  20. Looks great. Ertl made that car in one of the GTO turquoises. It may have been the light color. A few years ago the 1/18 emblems decals would have been a hot seller. I could use some correct Z-28 emblems.
  21. The Tahoes and Silverados are listed as due in July / Aug now. The Tahoe will also be done as a LTZ in Red, Silver or Black in addition to the police version. Based on the photos shown, it will have realistic type door hinges. Should be nice but at only $35.00 retail I wouldn't expect too much detail under the hood or on the chassis.
