Wrecked Ferrari 458!!!

It seems the 'Busa engine is a popular swap in the Smart car. I've seen quite a few like that. Pretty cool! -
Wrecked Ferrari 458!!!
Wayne Buck replied to stevehansen's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Ouch! I hope the Volkswagon is ok.. -
Thanks for the response, Matt. Yeah that's what I was planning on doing if I couldn't find a casting. The only problem is, the tail lights are completely different. A 67 Chevelle wagon has the same tails, but to my knowledge, nobody makes one. I guess I would have to make them. On that note, does anyone know of any 67 Chevelle and 66 Elky kits that would line up and "look right" without doing a ton of work?

STERN wheels question for you casters.
Wayne Buck replied to whale392's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
I would be interested in having a set or 2. They would look pretty cool on an auto-X style Mustang or Pro Touring in my opinion. -
Hey Guys, I'm looking to build a 1/24 or 1/25 67 El Camino. I searched for a bit and found one caster who used to make them, but I emailed him and he told me that he no longer casts them. Does anyone know where I could get one of these? Thanks and I hope everyone is having a great Memorial weekend!

Wow!! That looks beautiful! Super sexy in black! I think I'm gonna have to pick one of these up now... and have you build it for me!

Need pointers on paint detailing a firewall
Wayne Buck replied to Monty's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I like to use sharpies when I can. If markers are not an option, I'll use a good quality, small paint brush (no bristles sticking out of it) with kind of a flat, chisel shape to it. Dip the brush in the paint and then brush most of it off so a bunch of paint doesn't pour out of it when you touch something. Hold the brush almost parallel to the firewall and very lightly and carefully use the side of the brush on the raised wires/hoses. -
I found my camera takes better pics of models when I stand about 6-8 feet back and zoom in on the car. Maybe that'll work for ya? Cool car! Looks pretty mean and I like the color on it! GREAT job!

Need a Company name
Wayne Buck replied to Nick Winter's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I actually really like "gluebomb garage". That's funny as heck for a scale model tow truck name! I might use that one myself if I ever build a wrecker. -

Man, that is just beautiful! Outstanding job, John! -
Thanks for the kind words. That's funny! A lot of the models I buy end up getting opened on the way home from the store! I'll be sitting at a stop light checking out the parts and look over and notice a cute girl looking my way. lol They get that look on their face like "look at this guy playing with toy cars". My fiance is cool with the models though, and even buys them for me.

There's something you don't see every day! I like it! GREAT job!

Best styrene tube for constructing chassis'?
Wayne Buck replied to Deckerz's topic in Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials
It depends on what you're building, really. I'd say on average, 2mm wide would probably look ok (still a little narrow IMO), but you want them to be around 4mm tall. If you can only get the 2mm square stock, maybe you can put 2 pieces together and fill in the seam. Like I said, it really depends on what you're trying to build. -
Kyle Petty 42 Mello yellow stock car and Hauler
Wayne Buck replied to Mudpit602's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Nice job so far! That's gonna be a really cool combo. You did a GREAT job on all of the little details. Do you remember what you used for the spark plug wires on the stock car? They look to be a perfect size for "race car" ignition wires. Thick, but not too thick. You reminded me, I have that same trailer somewhere in pieces. Gotta see if I can find them all and build it. -

If you're using it for framerails, it's gonna be a little too thin. 2mm = around 1.8 inches in 1/24th scale -
29' Ford
Wayne Buck replied to Mr.Zombie's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
That is really cool! GREAT job! Dunno how I missed this one. -
LOL, I dunno. Just thought it would be a cool one to keep complete on the shelf due to the tin box...and maybe worth something if I ever got into a jam. I knew I wouldn't be able to hold out anyway. hehe You're right though, Harry. Building sure was a lot more fun than looking at the box! Besides, it seems stuff like this is never really worth THAT much down the road. After holding on to it for decades, the sentimental value always seems to heavily outweigh what it will sell for and you end up not wanting to get rid of it anyway.

Neat idea! Thanks! Sometimes if I need something like that, I'll just wrap a few rounds of electrical tape around the back of the blade. I'll have to try that.

Nice Job! The intercooler looks really good!

That is one slick lookin Riv! GREAT job! I really like it a lot!

LOL, I just picked up the 25 T as well. Prolly gonna do that one soon. It's nearly impossible to resist the urge to open em. At least for me it is! I already knew in the back of my mind as I was buying it, that this one probably wasn't gonna stay sealed for long. Funny you say that, because that is EXACTLY what I was thinking as I was laying the decals on! My mother is a BIG Giants fan. I never really got into the football thing too much, or any sports for that matter. I guess you could say I'm just 100% gear head. I have a feeling you might be right on that one.. Solely because I was thinking of buying a boxed kit to put inside of the tin so it would be "all there" again. Thanks for the comments, guys!

I like that a LOT! Definitely gonna be an interesting project. I really like the color too!
