  1. That's funny, I was thinking something along those lines as well, when the chat thread came up... Not to get the chat back, but just to show Gregg our appreciation for what he has set up here for all of us to enjoy. I wanted to make it a surprise, though, and racked my brain for a bit to figure out a way to get the message out to everyone without him knowing. And then, who would hold all of the money?.. etc... Maybe get him a really cool gift or something if we got enough bucks together... But, anyway, since that cat kinda just "tore through the bag", I want to say: THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, Gregg!!! Your forum definitely is very much appreciated by me, and certainly MANY other members as well! Thanks again, Gregg! You're one heck of a guy!!!
  2. Oh cool! I love the Munsters and so does my Dad! It's his favorite show ever. I'm definitely planning on building a Dragula for him one of these days and these will come in handy! Actually, "Hot Rod Herman" was my favorite episode. Remember when Herman pulls the shifter out of the car and it has all kinds of tranny guts dangling from it? LOL I laughed so hard at the beginning, when Grandpa was sitting and reading the newspaper- "It's says this year, the Yankees are out for blood. I'll tell ya, that sure is a whole lot funner than playing baseball..."
  3. LOL! Ditto on that one! For some of the stuff on there, you could buy the REAL 1:1 part for nearly the same price! Maybe that's why he states in big bold lettering "These parts are for model cars and not real ones" (..or something to that effect) At least he's kind enough to make sure nobody is mislead!
  4. Dominik, I don't now what else to say, except... This is a TRULY AWESOME dio! GREAT job! Thanks for sharing with us!!

Yep, Dave's right about the wheels not being stockers. These cars came with the "bottlecap" style wheels. Very cool looking build, BTW. Color looks sweet as does the stance. I almost bought this kit a few times as I love these cars, but the "curbside factor" has stopped me. In fact, I own two e30's at the moment and also totaled a third one, BAD! (Lucky to be alive after that crash actually! My mouth blew the two center vents to smithereens and took a good size chunk out of the dashboard behind it. Knocked me out cold...)
  6. Welcome to the forum, Ken! Very nice builds you have there! That Fiat is downright WICKED looking! Thanks for sharing those!
  7. That's a BIG part of the problem right there. Some people DO buy them. However, I would think with the listing fees and all, the guy would make the same or more profit if he sold stuff at reasonable prices. From what I remember, when I sold on ebay, the higher the Buy it Now price, the more it costs to list. Unless the selling fee structure has changed.
  8. Yep, I was just thinking about this exact topic while on ebay the other day. I always come across this "seller" that I think everyone is probably referring to. I guess it's not proper to give his name on here, especially since it's HIS stuff and has the right to ask whatever he wants for it, but I've wanted to send him a message on the 'bay several times to "express my feelings" towards his pricing. It wouldn't be a friendly message, that's for sure! So, I just said "to heck with it"... If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it at all, I guess! I always see a Honda mini trail (or trail 70/90...forget exactly what it is ATM) on there that I'd really like to have that's been parted out of the Ford Destroyer Monster Truck kit, but this guy wants 20 bucks for it! Like Crazy Eddy, his prices are INSANE! ...except, the other way around!
  9. Very nice job! One of my all-time favorite cars! I really, REALLY hope to own one (1:1 version ) sometime in my life before my battery dies. My father's friend, Phil, owned a really cool one when I was a kid. I always loved when he came over because of that car. It was a pretty powder blue metallic with blue interior (Factory color, but I forget the name of it). Pretty sure it was a '67... Even though I was only like 10 years old, I'll never forget when he sold it (I wanted it soooo bad!). The guy came from PA and picked it up at my dad's house near the Jersey Shore. It was Phil's first car in high school and I think he was about 35 when he got rid of it. I remember seeing the tears in his eyes as it left on the trailer and then I started to cry as well. It was a sad day...
  10. Sorry if this is old news, or has been posted on here before, but I just came across something that I think is REALLY COOL and figured some of you might enjoy it! The "Dolphin Boat" ...and a small writeup I found on it: http://www.postsbuzz...e-dolphin-boat/ I think it'd be a pretty cool subject (for all of you scratch-builders out there) for a model as well!
  11. Yep, it's 1:87 like Harry said. I remember watching clips of this on youtube while the airport was still under construction and some of the last few "bugs" were being worked out. I kinda forgot about this, although, I don't know how... because the whole thing is just absolutely mind blowing. The whole layout (tons of trains, working cars, firefighters hosing down a building that's on fire, etc...) has to be THE most incredible layout I have EVER seen in my life. The whole thing is inside of a huge warehouse or something. It seems they are always adding more stuff to it. Definitely worth checking out! I could hang out in that building, looking at all of the different little "scenes" for weeks!
  12. Wow, Joe!!! This is just INSANELY AWESOME!! I'm at a loss for words... GREAT progress so far! You have a serious gift for building these things! Keep up the SUPER work! Thanks a lot for sharing!
  13. Well, I just got done seeing this in person and, I gotta say, the pictures here don't do her much justice at all... Thanks again for sharing, Felix. GREAT work on the car, and It was VERY nice meeting you! P.S. Thanks for the dollar! I really wanted a set of those slicks bad!! LOL
  14. Man,that thing is creeping me out! LOL
  15. Absolutely OUTSTANDING work! Gonna be one bad Camaro! Some real eye candy here...that's for sure! Thanks for sharing!
  16. Boy, you have one heck of an imagination, Cranky! I'm lovin' the way this baby is shaping up and can't wait to see what's in store for her next!
  17. Yep, like George said, he's just backed up on orders AFAIK. He seems to really care about his customers and is very honest (unlike a small percentage of casters out there, who will take your order and money, ship you the product 6 months later, or when they feel like getting around to it, ...or even at all! I won't mention any names here). I can vouch for his Camaro conversion kits though. When the first ones came out, I ordered the 74-77 conversion kit and an extra "high spoiler" from him. He actually emailed me to tell me he was a bit backed up, but I did get my parts and they fit & look great! Now, I just have to finish the darn thing!
  18. Yep, he'd look good in that for sure! Maybe better in black though, with some purple and dark gray fog airbrushed all over it. Oh...and the shifter would have to stick at least 2 feet through the roof (... and definitely a T-handle to top it off ). I was thinking... It would be REALLY cool if they made the jaw hinge and hooked the throttle linkage to it (so, when you floor it, the mouth opens up wide!) LOL
  19. LOL! Yeah, I forgot about that car! I wonder how much that blower weighs... Those front springs must be crying!! That diesel is completely insane! I never even saw that before..
  20. I have one that I bought used at a swap meet. It definitely looks pretty old, but still does the job well, unless the paint is thick at the bottom of the jar. Honestly though, I hardly use it. It's kinda noisy ( might be just due to it's age though ). I usually just give my paint a quick shake by hand and use those little wooden coffee stirrers if it needs more. The little testors square bottles fit nicely in it, never tried a humbrol tin or anything in it though, so I couldn't tell you about that. I don't think it's worth the price for "just shaking paint", but then again, I'm sure there are probably some people who have one and love it. edit: I guess I was typing at the same time as Mark, but, like he mentioned, I had to replace the dry-rotted band as well and use a regular rubber band (forgot about that..).
  21. Whoa! Lot's of awesome drag cars everywhere!! Have I died and gone to heaven? Some of my recent drag racers:
  22. Welcome back home, Harry! It feels so good to come back to your own place (whether you were 10 miles away or 1000) after even just a couple of days. Man, you ain't kidding! I was in Chicago a little over ten years ago and distinctly remember riding in a cab (the first and LAST time!). The guy was blasting some old Michael Jackson cassette and weaving in and out of traffic like it was a formula one race. I had never squeezed my butt cheeks together for so long and hard in my life as I did during that "ride". BTW, Chicago is such a beautiful city IMO. I remember going to the Navy Pier to some Jazz Club/restaurant (The BeBop Cafe or something...). I had such a great time there!
  23. I'll never EVER forget that horrible day. I was 19 years old at the time. I was at work (Marty Sussman BMW in Pleasantville, NJ) and was on my way up front to speak with my service writer. On the way there, I was passing the customer lounge and happened to notice the first tower on TV with smoke pouring out of the side. I stopped to check it out (It was probably a minute or so after the first plane had hit) and they were saying it was a small personal aircraft or something. I thought to myself "Wow, how the h*ll did that happen??" and continued back to work. About 10-20 minutes later, I noticed just about everyone at the dealership was crowded around the television up front. I then learned what really happened and my heart sunk lower than I've ever experienced in my life. It bothered me so much thinking about all of the innocent people, that I couldn't catch even one minute of sleep that night. I had to call out the next day because I was too tired to go in (and still really shook up). My most sincere prayers and condolences go out to all who were involved, both directly and indirectly.
