  1. IMHO, the Revell 93 Cobra kit is probably the best donor for these, mainly for the 87-93 style seats and dash. edit: also, the same year GT convertibles would probably work, except you get the "cheese grater" tail lights with them. However, you can get the pony wheels or the turbines with one of those. I guess it depends if you're looking to build a "stock" coupe or not....
  2. How 'bout something like this: Type in "Inciner8tor" in google... There's a bunch of info out there on this car. One turbo per cylinder. I'm sure it's not "ridiculously powerful", but it is pretty neat and interesting!
  3. Yep, that whole week was pretty bad for me... I seriously felt like I had just lost a family member or a best friend. Again, Felix, I think you did this one GREAT JUSTICE! You should be proud! Shortly after his death, I started to build a replica of the #3 as well. I didn't get very far, though. I was graduating from BMW school and starting my career at a dealership and put the models aside for almost a decade. My life just got way too busy, unfortunately.
  4. Thanks a lot for taking the time to do this, Jason! I'm still waiting for one that's decent enough to do a replica of my 1:1. First, I won an AAM on the 'bay and I was sooooo excited! ....until I took it out of the box, that is. The part that bothered me the most was the roof. It was absolutely TERRIBLE!! So, back on the market it went.. ( I wish I kept the interior tub, however... ) About a year later, I bought one from RR, and, like you said, the roof was VERY thin. In fact, after a bit of "normal" handling, the A pillar broke at the top. I fixed that, started to work on it for a bit, and again, as you stated, I found that the quarter windows were different from one side to the next. I cut out a window for the driver's side and tried to place it in the passenger side to see how close it was ( I was hoping to use the first one as a template for the other ). No dice... It was WAY off. I remember reading something about Revell coming out with a 87-93 coupe in the future. Does anyone know what ever became of that? I think they would sell the HECK outta those!
  5. That is the main reason I fell in love with model car building! There are so many cars I'd love to own, but not enough money or time to own more than just a couple. Welcome to the forum, Ryan! Your GN is looking great so far!
  6. That's really cool, Lee!! Congratulations & great looking build.
  7. LOL! That's awesome! Is that Mr T?? "I pity the fool who puts a beanbag in place of their car seat."
  8. That's only your 3rd build? I think it turned out GREAT! I love the color combo that you chose (green with a white gut always looks great in my eyes). Seriously, you should be very proud of yourself! You don't even wanna know what my first models looked like when I was like 5 or 6 years old... they could probably make a maggot puke... Don't be so hard on yourself... You'll get better and better with each new build and learn new tricks/methods along the way. I can envision some really top notch stuff coming from you in the near future if this is what your 3rd attempt looks like! Just keep at it, man. Pretty soon you'll be looking at your finished projects and saying to yourself "Wow! I can't believe I built that!" Also, for using metal tape, the chrome looks great. You have to get your hands on some BMF. You're gonna love that stuff! Just make sure to use a fresh x-acto blade when you cut it. Take your time and just let the weight of your knife do the cutting. I'm looking forward to seeing many more awesome models from you in the future! P.S. The other two cars look great as well. Keep at it, you're doing an awesome job!
  9. Quite a few decal sets for the trucks here: http://stores.ebay.com/Modelcarkits/NASCAR-Truck-Decals-/_i.html?_fsub=2315024014 A bit pricey though if you ask me...
  10. Here she is... Supernatural.
  11. That thing was AWESOME!! IIRC, he wanted to sell it, or did sell it, because he was planning to build another one (a different Ferrari). I could be wrong, though... been a while since I saw it. Definitely worth looking up if you've never seen it though. It was VERY, VERY cool!
  12. VERY Nice Work! I think it came out great, Felix. Big E was my all time favorite driver. I was 19 years old when we lost him, and I'll admit, I cried like a little girl in my F150 that night on the parkway, all the way up to north Jersey to go back to school for the week. I pretty much lost interest in NASCAR all together after that one...
  13. Like Mark (Scale-Master) said, the atmosphere would be a major problem. You can only "atomize" the air/fuel mixture so much... The little particles of fuel would probably be larger than the gap between the electrode and bridge on the plugs, and it just wouldn't be able to ignite the mixture to put it simply. Also, Harry is right about the tolerances, parts, materials, etc... I'd be willing to bet that it would cost a million bucks or more to do!
  14. WOW!! Way to go, Gregg!! Congrats! I have a few websites of my own and know how much work they can be to maintain... also, the cost of having a large volume of traffic... Hats off to you and thank you so much for this awesome forum! MCM Rules!!!!!
  15. Dave, I don't think I left even one comment throughout this whole build as I watched it progress... Reason being, I was left TOTALLY SPEECHLESS every time you posted an update! This is an absolute MASTERPIECE! Seriously, I cannot find a single word in the English language to describe how completely incredible this car is! I've always loved the 3rd gen Camaros and Firebirds, drag racing and absolutely LOVE the 10.5 tire cars. That class has gotten so wild & dangerous lately that it has quickly become my favorite to watch. Cars slammed to the ground with "steamroller" tires will always have a special place in my heart, but the Outlaw 10.5" cars = PURE AWESOMENESS!!!!!! Thank you sooooo much for sharing your build with us! I'm sure I'll be coming back to this for years to come whenever I feel the urge to salivate uncontrollably. Can't wait to see what's going up on your bench next!!
  16. I like to go in the automotive section of "yahoo answers" and help people from time to time when I get bored. Anyway, I ran into one that I thought some of you guys might get a good chuckle out of: http://answers.yahoo...06134642AA5fzeH What is this world coming to?
  17. With Cranky "behind the wheel", I can see this turning out to be one awesome build (as always)! For some reason, as I'm looking at the pictures of this monster's progress, my mind keeps playing that song - "Ow.. Ow.. Chick.. Chicka.. Chicka! Oh Yeah... Ooohhh yeeaaahh!" Great work so far! I'll be following this one close, as this is one of my favorite kits too. I have one of these sitting in my collection that I've been wanting to build for a while. Just trying to decide what direction I want go with it... BTW, I recently started watching your vids on youtube, Cranky, and I love 'em! Thanks for sharing your builds and knowledge! You are a truly unique and awesome person!
  18. Lookin' really great! Very interesting and "different" subject. Keep up the great work! She sure is gonna look really purty when done. Dave, from the looks of it, I'm pretty sure those are R/C car tires and rims (foam-rubber tires, like slot cars have).
  19. Looking AWESOME, Wayne! Great work as usual! I could totally picture that bad boy digging deep into the 6's. Can't wait to see it all finished!
  20. WOW!! That sure did get "Wiped Out"! I'm so glad to hear you're ok. We've been getting some crazy weather here in the states lately. If that was by me, I'd probably be trying to sneak in there at night to see if I could find any salvageable kits/supplies in the rubble! LOL ( Please don't try that though... that was just the idiotic and childish side of my conscience speaking out loud! )
  21. I thought those were really cool as well when I saw em. They were selling for 7 bucks or something though... a little too pricey for me. Sometime last year, I was at my local wally world and saw them on clearance for 2 bucks a piece, so I grabbed every one they had left with the intent on keeping a few that I really liked and selling the rest. I still have 20-30 left in the packages. If anyone here is looking for a particular one, pm me and I'll take a look & see if I have it. I have 7 or 8 of the funny cars displayed in my living room. The "Bye-Focals" are pretty neat though.. never saw those before. Thanks for sharing!
  22. I almost bought it because of that. Free shipping kicks rear!
  23. When I was a little guy and really starting to love drag racing (10 years old or so), I thought the pro-stock Probes looked really cool. They're not a bad looking car if you ask me.
  24. That made me think of the drive through ATM at my bank that has braille on the buttons!
