Well, yesterday I got the new AMT Grumpy's Toy Nova. Today I got 6 inches of snow with that much more still coming.

Also there are un-built promo kits out there too.

Entertainment doesn't have to be deep to be fun. And as silly as it was it didn't have under car neon or exploding NOS (an oxidizer, not a fuel). I'm with you here.

Realistically, I doubt any of us bought or built ALL of the new kits, so it's just a popularity thing anyway. We all buy mostly on subject matter that interest us and the model companys usually do something to interest everybody. I'd say it was a good year no matter what you liked, but from what I've read about accuracy, fit, detail and quality, and appeal to a wide group of builders it would seem to me that the Revell 57 Ford hit the nail on the head, and that's a kit that I didn't buy. The 70 Cuda that I've been waiting for fell short on a few things but it's so much better then what we had I'm happy with it.

I will tell you that it's a lot of work to get rid of the Belair trim no matter which version you build! I know this movie had a lot of real cool cars, but has anyone else realized how silly the rest of the movie is?

I drove to Indy and back earlier today, and when I started the car my talk radio station was doing the pre game stuff for the football game. So I went to my AM talk station to find a basketball game on. Back to FM and the classic rock station. After a couple of songs they went to the football game. So to the oldies station where I found another basketball game on. I hit the seek button and on came rap. I turned the radio off. I guess it;s time to buy XM or something.

Lots of old Fox bodied Mustangs around here in better shape for lots less. Look around, you can do better.

I just bought a Grumpy's Toy Nova, an AMT kit from about 1988 or '89. I got new base trim bench seats, Grumpy's Toy decals, and stock steel wheels. I'm pleased with that.

Reminds me of the Monty Python skit, "You don't have mice, you've got sheep!".

I'm not against import cars, I've owned several, and own one now. I am saying this kit would have got more respect as a Toyota with TRA speed parts. (as it now has been explained) To me rocket bunny congers up images of a bad Robot Chicken skit.

Just checked the forecast, a low of -15 Monday, and a high of -15 on Tuesday, after more snow on Sunday. Great weather to stay inside and build, if I didn't have to get out into it and go to work. Danged global warming.

lordairgtar, I've been inspired by this thread and have started a build of Project X as it was in the Hollywood Knights movie. I've spent a lot of time on the net researching on many sites and I can tell you after reading hundreds of posts that the current version of project is universally disliked. It's about one or two defenders against about forty or so against on every site. It's not just H.A.M.B.

It may be a great kit of a fantastic car, but in that color it needs a Hello Kitty decal on the door. The Japanese sure look at things differently.
