  1. Thanks to a friend who can scan and make such things my pickup window has one fat bearded guy, a house, a pickup, a Camaro, 3 Harleys, a bunch of guns and 2 dogs. No women or kids.
  2. Again, this is correct for US models, euro spec 70's were still swing axle, so it depends on just what model was modeled.
  3. Didn't he get into some trouble over some "unauthorized" Batmobiles some years back?
  4. Still looks better then Testors chrome silver.
  5. The whole concept of a dog interacting as a human never worked for me.
  6. VW never imported type 3 notchbacks or type 34 Ghia's into the US, so I supose those cars don't exist either?
  7. "Cal Look" Beetle = good! "California Wheels" Beetle = wrong!
  8. Who in their right mind would "California Wheels" a VW ?
  9. X2, it's a home market spec car. 100% correct 1968 euro standard.
  10. Here in Indiana there is no inspection law, just buy a plate and go.
  11. When Rat Rods first started comming around they wern't what they are today. They were bare bones and in flat black or primer, maybe a Mexican blanket on the seat. More of what is called a nostalga rod today. I was sick of the way too smooth slicked up billet sleds that "Street Rods" had become and was glad to see a breath of fresh air. But soon I started seeing junk with no floor boards, no front brakes, farm implement tires, hack welding, raw sharp edges, and in one case a cut brake line hammered flat and folded back on itself! If they trailered this stuff to the shows it would be one thing, but these things are out on the same streets my grandkids are on, and it seems most of the time driven pretty wrecklessly.
  12. I've got the Modelhaus parts and they are first rate! Also, I worked at an Oldsmobile / Cadillac dealer back in the 70's, the last car I saw badged as an F-85 was a 1973 A body (same as a Cutlass "S"). It even had a 3 on the tree!.
  13. AMT never kitted a 69 Road Runner, that was Jo-Han.
  14. President Kennedy had so energized the country. It was just so hard to believe anyone wanted him dead. History through rose colored glasses, like any political figure 50% loved him, 50% not so much. Where were you? I was in the third grade, and home sick from school. I was watching TV and saw the live footage.
  15. Loud and vibrating pretty much sum up a Manx! They arn't a car for the timid.
  16. I must agree, don't tear it up, build another one!
  17. Thanks guys! I think I have one of those Beretta kits in my stash, and severial parts on the resin page look good to me!
  18. I'm sorry, I didn't make myself clear. I ment that the 39 Chevys that GM built were reskins of the 37 and 38's that they made. As AMT made a 1/25 37 it could be used as a starting point, but it would require more work to be correct. Yes, all Monogram 39's are 1/24.
  19. A LARGE tree is down accross the road 1/4 mile from here, everyone on the other side is without power.
  20. It's silly here too.
  21. The 39 Chevy was an update on the 37/38 Chevy, which AMT made, but would require more work and is 1/25.
  22. I attend 4 or more shows a year, we are lucky to have 3 each year right in Indianapolis and 1 just south in Columbus. I also try to get to Cincinnati each spring. I go for the swap meet and for inspiration at the contest table, and to see old friends. I havent entered a contest in years and rarely stay untill awards are givin.
  23. I had a Gold Wing rider tell me that Harleys got to be much better bikes after Honda bought them and straightened 'em out.
  24. Those center caps were never used on any Corvette, or any other Chevy with those wheels. That S-10 owner has used something else that fit those wheels. You might try the bare Rally wheels with exposed lug nuts from the AMT 72 Corvette kit and add your own center caps.
  25. I take my Meyers Manx to quite a few shows every year, and I always have to hear about "The one my dad built, only it had a "Porch" motor in it", and of course every other dune buggy there is a "Gen-u-wine real Myers Man-x". The best one was the guy parked beside me with a 351 2bbl Mach 1, who bad mouthed my "under powered junk furr'in" car all day. I left at the same time he did and had the front wheels off the ground when I blew around him. I let the turbo blow off beside his window!
