I T- Boned a Palmetto bug one night in Florida on my BMW. Think giant flying cockroach that would have taken me right off the bike if I hadn't had a windshield. I was convinced it damaged the fairing but to my relief it did not. G

I've seen windows kicked out, cages knocked askew fom the floor, doors knocked off kilter, and a variety of lesser damage from prisoners in the back seat of a lockup car. We tried to use the purpose built vans for transport as much as possible. I saw the back door to a Ford kicked so hard it jammed. This from a handcuffed and belted prisoner. NOTHING is perfect, ................. except unconscious in the trunk, wait, did I say that outloud? G

The St. Louis Metropolitan Police used two door cars until the 1959 model year. Even then, the first of the four doors were assigned to the Canine Division. Efficient and safe prisoner transportation has been, and always will be, a topic for discussion. From the first "Black Maria" to the most modern police vehicle, conveying someone who doesn't want to go, has been and will be, a challenge. G

OH MAN! I need about a case of those decals. I wish I'd have waited to build my NYPD Ford now. Looks like I need to but a few of these............................. G

I know the copper in the pic. They staged that just across the street from his house. That is, in reality, his son who is 13 now. G
