  1. Paulie may have moved slow, but it was only because Paulie didn't have to move for anybody. Jimmy was the kind of guy that rooted for bad guys in the movies. Vinnie, don't put too many onions in the sauce. G
  2. Thank you all! Kevin I intend t round up the accessories for a Duplex Drive (swimming) Sherman as well as the T6 swimming Sherman used at Okinawa. Both of these projects are in the future though. G
  3. This is my completed build from the "All The Rest - Part 2" Community Build. Armor modelers always seem to depict our vehicles as used and abused. Heavily weathered with a "to hell and back" look. Well I went the other way. This is a brand new M4A3 Sherman on it's way to being shipped overseas. The tank is a Tamiya kit modified to look right off the line, no tools, no tow cables, no crew gear. BMF was used to replicate the sealing material. I scratchbuilt the shipping crate and the entire section of the railroad flat car . G
  4. Completed. G
  5. Final mock up. To prevent silvering, I applied the decals in a puddle of Future, Then I brushed a layer of Future over the top. When that cured for 2-3 days I flat coated the entire thing with MM Acryl clear flat. I sprayed a Krylon semi gloss finish on the wood base. Final assembly tonight. G
  6. Hey Harry, can we pin this topic? Fantastic work and great inspiration here on these pages. G
  7. Built this for my middle son. Revell's Bullitt Mustang with AM 1/48 scale decals. All the color is Testor's square bottle enamel over a Tamiya Silver Leaf base. Before touch ups and clear. G
  8. A viable option............................. G
  9. Moving right along. I added some detail using 2mm wide strip and some 1.5mm rod. That's Krylon Gray Primer. I'm very pleased with how the deck turned out. That's simply one brushed on coat of Testors "CreateFX" enamel stain. The color is called "Driftwood". Airbrushed some color. I want it to better represent the Army's flatcars. I went with Tamiya XF-73 to add contrast between the OD tank and the OD flatcar. Weathering and markings to come. G
  10. Well, at least it's acrylic. That's a whole lot easier to strip. I've got one panzer that's sat in a tub of Windex and water twice now. Windex eats Tamiya acrylic clean off. I repainted it for the third and put it away for a bit. G
  11. Sounds like you are doing everything right but the darn AB isn't cooperating. G
  12. Interesting already! I love that kit. G
  13. I have found that most acrylics like MiG, Vallejo and some MM Acryls have a tendency to lift from bare plastic. Danny there is no right or wrong with pre shading. When attempting detail work, he best course of action with any acrylic is thin it and lower the air pressure. I'm fascinated by this kit as well. G
  14. Interesting, looks like a detailed kit. I like the multi color parts on the same sprue. G
  15. Work week starts tomorrow so I wanted to get as much construction done as possible. This however, required a trip too HTUSA for the 1/4" square tube. It was much easier that fabbing something from what I had on hand. G
  16. Looking good so far! G
