Eyes are ok, an Optivisor is definitely required. Long ago in a galaxy far away I received a gunshot wound ti my upper torso in the area of my left shoulder. Decades later, apparent nerve damage has slowly eroded the feeling in my left arm/hand. While not profound, it effects the fine motor skills somewhat. G

Paint! I have found no definitive answer as to the color of the material used for sealing the hatches. I went with a grungy earth tone to set it apart from the rest of the finish. A wash with a darker color, then dry brushing got me here. I added some speed tape to the area of the stenciled serial number. Sources make reference to the fact sometimes these numbers were deliberately obscured for security reasons. G

Actually in reading that, I believe it was my old watch commander's order. G

Moving right along. The construction phase is complete thanks to many, many reference photos. Olive green plastic is the Tamiya kit, gray is Dragon spare parts, white is all scratch with some PE bits and bobs tossed in. Tamiya tape on the turret replicates the tape covering of the US star markings. That prevented re spraying the star in the field. On to primer now. G

I built this as a way to experiment with a monotone finish. Its modulated, tinted, and chipped all done with acrylic, oil and enamel. Now she sits while I contemplate my next steps in weathering. This was a nice fun build. G
