  1. Even our taxi's are a bit "over the top" here. G
  2. Mom had a "71, Champagne gold with a dark brown vinyl top. I took my driver's license road test in it. MrsG had a purple '72 when she lived in Gurnee. Yeah, I'd buy it. G
  3. No tattoos, against my religion (really), no piercings either (same reason). I have a smartphone that I use daily to direct my detectives. GPS and such is a wonderful thing. I live and work in Nevada so it's a hands free automotive environment for me baby. I too have electricity and indoor plumbing, air conditioning as well. G
  4. If I had the room to place the finished piece, it would already have been built! The green tape is Tamiya tape cut into thin strips to better replicate scale "speed tape". I wanted to create a visual difference between the sealant material, a form of "plastic" sheet, and the fabric tape. Thank you all for the comments! G
  5. I rotate my cop car builds periodically. My Chief and one Deputy Chief keep models on display in their offices as well so I'm in good company. The chief was a helicopter pilot in a past life and the DC was a cop in California. Lots of the guys and gals are retired from other police departments and keep models or diecasts of their cars at their desks. G
  6. I sent a few folks here for an all inclusive stay. G
  7. Hey you can't park that thing here. Good job sir! G
  8. I drove quite a few of these. In all honesty neither looks "right" to me. If you cannot "split the difference" go with the lower photo. G
  9. What he said. G
  10. Geez, might as well build a whole new model. Thank goodness I didn't drive but one. Thank you all who gave advice! G
  11. Good stuff Phil! I like the desert camo on the Gundam. G
  12. I wanted to take a break from complicated detailed builds. I have a vacation coming and won't be home for a couple of weeks. So, I pulled this off the shelf of doom where it has sat for nearly a year after a mishap with the aftermarket metal tracks. I bought a new set of Fruil Model metal tracks and went at it. G
  13. "Just the facts, Harry." G
  14. So true. Trouble is there are some corporations that include comps into the budget specifically for the services. 7-11 has a budget for "cop coffee". I get the point of the commissions, I truly do. I've been in the business for nearly 37 years now. Hey, I'll take a deal just as fast as the next guy. Thing is, I don't expect it, or believe I'm entitled to it, and I make dam sure doesn't progress into bigger issues. I'm what some would call a "professional". G
  15. Yeah, old Mr Siegel lost his mind............................ G
  16. and therein lies the reason behind giving the boys in blue a "break" on the bill. Win-win situation for all involved. G
  17. Now a days, when you are "86'd" from a casino you are allowed walk off and come back the next day. Back then, it meant you were taken 80 miles out of town and placed 6 feet under. Huge housing growth has unearthed, ...........ahem, ...........a variety of concerns for the local gendarmes. Seems they had to hire back some retirees to deal with the rising cold case rate. Lets not get started on what has been revealed with Lake Mead's level falling at a rate unseen before. Sleeping with the fishes isn't confined to back east. G
  18. I handled a homicide that occurred after an argument over the last hot wing. Had a homicide over using the last of the toilet paper. Responded to a homicide where one neighbor killed another for taking his newly snow shoveled parking spot. That was just "a day in the life" where I worked. Here they call nearly everything a "Major Incident", back home we called it "Wednesday". G
  19. The wee beastie is quite detailed. I like the way the cockpit looks. G
  20. That really pops! Good job sir. G
  21. This is another one that I really like. G
  22. By the way, I took care of that thing for ya. My favorite. G
