2012 POST APOCALYPSE/ZOMBIE HUNTER COMMUNITY BUILD
Agent G replied to Dr. Cranky's topic in Community Builds
NICE! G -
My 25 year old son asked if I could replicate this: http://www.cebudanderson.com/oldcrowcar.htm He has no inteterest in model building so I said "of course". Hobby Town had a shelf full of '08 Bullitt Mustangs at a good price so I modernized the concept a bit. Some paint, decals, and yards of tape later I got this: The build and paint is on the Mustang thread in Community Builds. G

Thanks Mike! I'm sticking a fork in this one. She's done! G

2012 POST APOCALYPSE/ZOMBIE HUNTER COMMUNITY BUILD
Agent G replied to Dr. Cranky's topic in Community Builds
Being an avid armor builder, I can wholly relate to this Mark. My goal is building one example of every tank the Marine Corps ever used. Now that said, I have stocked up on Shermans for WWII and Korea. Each one is different, each is painted differently, and all are poo pooed at my local show. The "experts" all agree these are what if builds as certainly there is no proof that existed. When confronted by my references, books, photos, etc. I am scoffed at. I recently entered my TZH pick up in a local show. The staff about lost it. I will never attend this event again as this kind of mentality is not for me. Keep at it bro. G -
Driver's side finished. These decals are still wet in the pic. I am slowly getting the star and bar to settle into the curve of the body panel. Photoyucket is acting like $&!% so these will be all for this evening. G

Jonathan that will look spectacular when finished. Keep at it. Thanks Dirk, I originally wanted to use a AMT '73 to replicate the 1:1 car but found the Bullitt on sale. can't beat a deal. G

Take a deep breath, mask, mask, and mask some more. Burnish it all down and remember one word. OVERSPRAY It'll look killer when done Jonathan. G
-
Sorry it took so long. Lots of stuff happening here. Old Crow is up on her wheels now. Interior looks like it belongs. Shiny. I'll give it a final polish, then the decals will go on. After a few bits and bobs she'll be done. G

Where does your nostalgia lie?
Agent G replied to JollySipper's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
We drove the biggest baddest four door cars on the road, and while some were faster, no one ever outran a radio. We carried revolvers, a baton, and a pen. Our computer was between our ears, and we were expected to use it all the time. Large steel rimmed sun glasses were the norm, as was a "porn 'stache". Lots of us had 'fros, regardless of our ethnicity. We were a hard working, hard partying bunch of cromagnons as there ever was. Hide the women, children, and pets, the boys of the bloody third district have arrived. G -
Separated at birth?
Agent G replied to Darin Bastedo's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
My partner and I had the opportunity to eat with Carrot Top at a local restaurant. He and his bodyguard were seated next to us and CT caught on right away as to who we were. Long story short we moved the tables together, and had a good time for at least two hours. He's a real nice guy and a real gentleman. He had hidden that hair under a cap, otherwise I'd never been able to stop lauhing. G -
I actually accomplished quite a bit on Old Crow. Body's polished, and a bunch has been assembled. I'll have pics tomorrow, I'm just to frikkin' tired right now. I spent all morning babysitting the Gaming Control Board at their monthly meeting. It's like watching paint dry. G

Do you have a Unicorn subject?
Agent G replied to martinfan5's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Lindbergh's Dodge Charger Police Car. Oh what a miserable excuse for a "new tooled" kit. I am currently 3/4 through my second attempt to build this misfit, and am pushing myself to finish. The first is 99% done, and sitting, waiting, until I get the inspiration to complete it. Where this inspiration will come from I haven't a clue. G -
The one model you are most proud of.
Agent G replied to Romell R's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
This Concorde was part of a series of kits released called "street racers" or some such. This came with a wing the size of a 737, which was duly discarded. It was molded in purple and had enormous chrome wheels. I left the ground effects intact as it's a one off "maybe" car. I scanned the PD image from department letterhead, and colorized it prior to printing. This was in the academy library for years and the chief we had at the time liked the markings better than what was on the real cars. Come to think, it might have been prior to '99, more like '95-'96. Yes Danno I killed Mr. Jesse's career, much like I killed my own time after time........................... G -

Jonathan, some questions are best left unasked........................................ Unicorns and rainbows got me banned once, so now its kittens and sunshine. G -

I guess this has to be my favorite. It was featured in "that other mag" about 1999, in fact it was in Terry Jesse's last column. Simple, direct and to the point. Krylon white finish, and all the decals except the license plate were generated in my computer. I made the light bar from toothbrush handles. G -

Stupid Things You've Done While Modeling
Agent G replied to Jdurg's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I've done that, but fortunately it wasn't in public. Now for something a little less dumb............................ yet equally entertaining. Long long ago, in a place called my parents basement, I took the liberty of shooting an "empty" spray can of purple metalflake enamel with my BB rifle. Some would find it amazing that I can remember the color nearly 50 years after the fact. I on the other hand will NEVER forget the spout of purple metalflake enamel erupting from the can. Nor will I forget the way the jet of paint propelled that can throughout the basement, covering everything in it's path with purple metalflake enamel. Everything, the floor, the walls, the pet turtle, every m+#$!^ %^&*ing thing. G -
