  1. I built several of these back in the 70's. Like most other things during those times, they were cheap and plentiful. Although I think I did pretty well with them but my skills were limited by my age. Now that my age has increased greatly and my skills at least moderately, I'd like another crack at them. David G.
  2. I'm glad to see this one back in the spotlight Darren. I'll be watching. David G.
  3. Thanks for the update. Every time I check in on this thread, I'm amazed by what I see. Looking at the texture of the dryer sheet you've used, it looks like it could also be used to simulate the interior surface of a fiberglass panel. Thanks for sharing that tip. David G.
  4. The interior looks great! Excellent color choice. David G
  5. Thanks for your kind words G. No need to be afraid to post your builds here- we'd love to see them. David G.
  6. Thanks Richard! David G.
  7. Richard I'm sorry to say that I've run out of superlatives- all your excellent work has used them up. Great work, as always! David G.
  8. It's certainly well deserved Bill. I've been following your work on this forum since I signed up in 2009 and I'm always impressed with your work. David G.
  9. Thanks Bill, maybe I'll actually finish it this time around. The paint is actually Tamiya Italian Red. By the way, I saw your '59 Chevy on the cover of a magazine. It looks fantastic, congratulations! David G.
  10. Finally, it looks like I got some good paint laid down. After two more coats of paint and some color sanding, these are the results. Our little flaw even smoothed out nicely. With a nice even color. I think I can let this cure and then do a final polish. As always, thanks for taking the time to look, and feel free to comment. David G.
  11. I finally got some more bench time, so here's another update. Now that the body fit issues are mostly sorted, it's time to move on to paint... for the third and hopefully, final time. It seems that a little color sanding will be needed. This dark spot is caused by the body filler I used to repair the sink mark that lies directly beneath it. It appears that I should have made better use of the primer. Additionally, the body filler didn't fill as well as I would have liked. Hi-Ho, Hi-Ho, it's back to the bench I go with a little skim-coat and sanding. That's all for now As always, please feel free to comment and thanks for taking the time to look. David G.

  15. Looks great from any angle! David G.
  16. Good progress. Looks great, but I think that the mud on the wheels is too glossy. A little dull-coat would knock down some of the sheen. David G.
  17. Well done, looks great! David G.
  18. Fishing line, I don't think I'd have come up with that one. Looks great! David G.
