  1. Why should it matter how another builder chooses to finish his or her models? I often use Alclad to replicate "chrome" trim on my cars and I use BMF as a mask when doing so. That's also very inaccurate, but in some situations, it's the best option to achieve the results I want. Sometimes I don't even use clear coat. If the paint already looks the way I want it to, why mess with it? When building a model, I don't like to limit my options. To say, "I always do this, and I never do that!" is to me, just plain silly. David G.
  2. Interesting concept. In a strange way, it works. David G.

  7. Great looking rust work! Photos are really good too. Is that a gear selector on the steering column with a shifter on the floor? David G.

  9. It's actually kind of cool. A lot more appealing than those sports-team-franchise mobiles of the 70's and 80's. David G.

  11. Yup, really. Soaked it over night and the paint peeled off like bits of latex. It would appear that I got lucky. David G.
  12. Here's a minor update. Plugging the holes in the roof with brass rod and tube stock. Soldered and smoothed. Thanks for looking! David G.

  19. I recently bought a 2013 Dodge Charger and I'd like to make a replica of it. I found a 2011 Diecast police car by Daron that I will use as the basis for the replica. Here's the starting point... ...and here's the goal. Step one: dis-assembly. The paint has been stripped. I'll be posting more as time permits. Thanks for looking and always feel free to comment. David G.
  20. Too bad I don't live in Hubbard any more! David G.
