Nice work! Those rubber parts are a little weird on the Gunze kits - great job converting them to plastic. I love the look of these cars and your model is looking very nice.

I really like the Impala - the brown is different and in a good way - great work.

How To Make Opening & Functional Doors, Hoods, and Trunks
Erik Smith replied to nwmud's topic in Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials
Because not every builder actually thinks Camaros and Mustangs are the only cars in existence. Here is one of the few all-four-doors-opening models: It takes quite a bit of work to do on a kit. -
Cool. I like the finish. Nice clean construction too. I was at a dealership the other day and saw a car with a matte finish - it also has a list of hinges you couldn't do - like take it to a car wash, rub the paint too hard, etc. - so, cool look but more difficult to maintain than a shiny coat.

They are plentiful - HobbyTown USA, MegaHobby - really most hobby outlets carry them. They would be found in boxes such as this: is there a particular kit from ROG you can't find? Many are just reboxed versions of US market kits, too, but at a higher price.

Ever look at a box top and think "What the?". Ever open a box and say "HEY, WHERES THE <insert missing part here> THAT'S ON THE BOX?". Was there nobody at AMT in the 90s who looked at these built models on the box and said "You know, I don't remember the real car having such a high front end"? You know you have some crappy looking models on the box - some totally misleading pictures - let's see them...

Another great job. Beautiful paint job.

Nice work. I like that color. Great model.

I use Insta-Cure Gap filling super glue - purple label - 5-15 second set time. I also usually use an accelerator to set instantly. I didn't know it was called Bob Smith Industries before post #3. I have Maxi-Cure and Insta-Super thin too, but use the purple one by far the most (the thin is okay but is really easy to flood parts and leae a mess - and glue your fingers together). I use "super glue" for almost everything - from engine block halves to shocks to seats - it is strong, dries fast, and, very important, it fills seems and gaps. I not only use it to put parts together but also for filling sink holes, ejector pin marks, etc - small dab, hit it with the accelerator, and your ready to sand in seconds. I DO NOT USE it on "glass". For that, I use Testors clear canopy glue stuff.

Great work - clean, smooth, and beautiful. I love the over-the-top styling on this car. Spectacular model.

Nightmare Kits CBP - aka Masochistic Modelers Anonymous
Erik Smith replied to Jantrix's topic in Community Builds
Do you want it for your model? Yes, it's horrible. You can see the + and - on each "armrest"? That's where the batteries go. -
I think you will need to explain a little more exactly what you are using and how you attempted to apply it. Just saying "I have the ink" doesn't let anybody know if you are using india ink, paint, or?...Also, are you airbrushing, paint brush?... As Ray stated, you can use Tamiya's clear paints or Alclad II's paints, labelled "Hot Metal".

Brian - I can kind of get an idea of the model, however, the pictures are out of focus. I do like the color scheme and decals.

Cool and great idea. Nice work on that little Ford - little as in scale smallness. I like the custom touches. I have a small collection of "off-scale" kits that are fun to build and offer something different. In the military section, there are numerous kits in 1/35 and 1/42 - even some with full engine detail. People are missing out!

MCW paint - Sandpiper Chevette is one step closer. I have never used MCW paint, so I ordered extra for all the mistakes that are inevitable.

I went and picked up one of these kits yesterday - it is a great kit, easy to find, and, for today's standards, cheap! There is a lot to like here. One thing I thought of immediately...is there a kit or resin transkit available to convert this kit to a Charger Coupe (a non-RT version)? I can sand and amend the hood, but the taillights looked to be a little challenging to convert.

Kind of a weird set up. Does it blow air back into your face? I made my own box so me posting is kind of a waste, I guess

Maybe Harry (or somebody with some PS skills) could do some clean up and see if the "too many vents" thing helps. I have already said I like the overall design. But I was also in the crowd feeling it could be better. So, lets see some improvements! Ill give it a go with my extremely limited skills and Gimp.

Fujimi Mad Police model kits. Post Apocalyptic Police!

Cool review. Interesting wheels - not sure the point, but different and kind of cool. The dark tinted glass is a drawback. Hope is doesn't rain or snow in that dystopian future.- 38 replies
