Masking those decals must be quite a task. Thanks for clarifying how you do it, though. I had seen some of your decals printed on clear sheet and couldn't figure out how you did them. Now I know. Cool work!
Followed along with the WIP - learned a lot and enjoyed it. The finished product is great. I really like the mirrors - they add so much to the look of a postal Jeep. Excellent job!
I really like this build. The only thing I like better is the attitude you seem to have - the kit has no door handles, so, I'll make some.
We can all learn quite a bit by everything going on here.
Very impressive work. Clean and beautiful.
Now, about this printing on foil...how did that work? Regular printer? We had a thread awhile back about this so I ran some tests from my HP inkjet onto BMF and the ink wouldn't dry - it just rubbed off. Any tips?
I know Mini Cooper wheels are tiny, but those wheels look really small or the rubber is too big.
I heart minis so I will be acquiring one of these when available - we will see how it stacks against Tamiya...
I think it depends on your base coat. Are you using Alclad II gloss black base? A lacquer base will not allow the chrome paint to "bite" and will rub off easily. The Alclad II base is an enamel.
