Not the Seahawks. Looks nice - any more pictures?

Hola, mi amigo. Welcome to the site.

Nice idea. A convertible will be cool. I just finished a lowered version of a 64 'Bolt - one of my favorite Ford bodies. I like this kit too. I have built two and noticed a couple inherent fit issues but otherwise is a great kit from the reemergence of Revell.

Very, very impressive build. I like the choice of color. Looks clean. I think Hasegawa makes some of the nicest kits around. It seems even their "glass" is thinner and more clear than other kit makers. Great job. I also like the different photo series with a longer lens to compress the look.

Cool. How does this kit compare to Tamiya's 2 CV?

1977 U-Haul truck project

Nice work! That box looks great. -
I was thinking the same thing as soon as I saw that picture - I assumed it was huffing high octane petrol, though. Nice little build - I miss the old hidden-headlight Miata days.

Cool build Chris. Lots of nice detail work and great paint job. Thanks for posting.

Anyone having problems with USPS?
Erik Smith replied to Kaleb's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
That's really not an excuse to leave a package on the wrong street and wrong number then leave the package (waiting for pick up) outside on a porch for three days. -
Anyone having problems with USPS?
Erik Smith replied to Kaleb's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Now...FedEx! Twice in the last year I have received packages intended for other people with an address on a different street AND number. I called and FedEx sent by a driver two days later on the first box. The second box sat on my porch for three days so I finally delivered it myself on my day off. The cool thing is, they scan the package and mark it as delivered - so if you call, they say "we delivered on such and such date". That's nice. -

What's my problem?
Erik Smith replied to SuperStockAndy's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Here's where my battle lies: I want a finished model I want a perfect model I have not been able to do both. There is a saying - "Perfect is the enemy of good enough" So, I would ask you - who are you building for and why? I would look at the reason you aren't finishing a kit and ask yourself some questions. Does it really need to be perfect? Does it need to be super detailed? Are you building it for yourself or for others to judge? I have found I prefer finished models to perfect ones and I work through and around the challenges of each build. I still haven't finished them all, but I make a concerted effort to try. Good luck! -
Really neat project Ken. Almost motivating me to try something...

Anyone having problems with USPS?
Erik Smith replied to Kaleb's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
20 cents times how many packages a day = lots of money. Yes, the USPS is hurting that bad as well. I have noticed a slight delay in shipping times - maybe a day for priority - but nothing too bad. I had a parcel post package that took 7 working days from the east to the west coast. -
Parts kits - what's your favorite?
Erik Smith replied to Jantrix's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I like the Revell 49 Mercury. Extra sets of wheels and tires, a nice Cadillac engine, and some custom parts. I also like the AMT 67 Galaxies and Mercury Comets - mainly because they have some of the nicest engines (427s and 390s) in any kit and they are plentiful and cheap! Great idea for a thread - I am always looking for kits that I don't care so much for the subject but would buy it if I knew it had some good parts. I would also encourage photos, of which I will add later... Like now: Wheels, tires and engine from 49 Merc kit (Replicas and Miniatures has some Cadillac valve covers for it): Also - Rob, I pulled out my RC2 release (2004) of the Black Cat Cougar (I won it at an IPMS show) and noticed there are two engine blocks in the kit - any idea what the story is there? Also, I noticed there are a couple intake choices - I didn't really think much of this kit before so thanks for making me pull it out and look through it! -

I have been trying to get more station wagon kits - I would love to see how this one goes. Where is the body from? -
Spray white wall tyres
Erik Smith replied to 57peppershaker's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
There was a thread on this - basically use a circle template, cut the size circle you need, attach to tire, spray white. The trick is getting the circle perfectly lined up on your tire. You can use plastic templates, but I kept gouging the sides with my cumbersome hands and sharp knives, so I found this aluminum one online. -
Scratch Building - OMG, I lost my dizzy
Erik Smith replied to Alyn's topic in Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials
Neat idea. I have not looked in on this post because I couldn't really figure out what was being done based on the post's title. Glad I looked. A nice clear title would probably increase visits.- 31 replies

Looks more like the domain name expired. You can still get to his Fotki page and that has his email and some nice pics.

Nice overall look and build. I like the diorama too.
