  1. I would echo above comments - the gravity feed is great for small jobs and touch up, including Alclad. It is less clean up on small jobs as well - just the cup on the AB. Siphon feed sprays more paint and you have a larger supply for bodies, etc., right in a bottle ready to keep spraying. I have an Iwata siphon feed and a "made for iwata" NEO gravity feed. The NEO is okay - it is a cheap AB packaged in Iwata clothing and has proven to be erratic in spraying. My HP-BCS is great - easy to clean and take apart and sprays very nice. Only down side is he small nozzle which limits how large a spray is possible - not optimum for bodies, but works pretty well. I hear the paasche H-5 is great for spraying bodies. It's a single action, siphon feed brush, relatively inexpensive, and easy to find parts for. Really depends on what you need to paint.
  2. I don't think it's street legal - there are no marker lights at all. That is a very cool custom model. Looks like a lot of hard work but executed wonderfully. Great paint, great body work, great..you get the picture. Thanks for posting some motivational work.
  3. Cool. Nice work on the paint. Funny how a "mostly stock" Riv looks custom.
  4. So would the scale speed of a 1/7 car going 100mph be, like, 700mph? I had enough trouble controlling rC cars going 10mph.
  5. I've done some rocks in mine. Patience required - and a place to separate the noise from your living quarters. I don't think I'd put plastic in it though - not enough difference in the hardness of paint and plastic. It seems like the plastic would loose all its high spots before it lost paint in the cracks. Could have some use though...
  6. Simon - Yes, .4 - 1.0 mm brass tube - they make it all the way down to .3 mm OD. Made by Albion Alloys. Tiny, fragile stuff but really cool - nice thin walls - more to scale than any K and S brass. I purchased it from Sprue Brothers online. No aluminum in the micro - just brass and nickel silver. It's all expensive!
  7. Those Arii kits are fun little builds of not-so-common cars. They present some challenges too, as many aspects are very toy-ish. I love the Gloria's lines and the "custom" look you gave it fits very well. Nice work and thanks for posting it.
  8. I completely disagree. Not the seller's responsibility? Really. So, screw the buyers, I'm the seller? Don't forget, it's not the sellers that make eBay (or any retail shopping) work. It's the buyers. It's called customer service. What's that old saying, "the buyer is always right"? All the seller in the OP has to do is tell the buyer, sorry, I don't ship internationally. Then set up the preferences on his account to not accept bids. Is that a pain? Somewhat. But without somebody to buy all that stuff on eBay (good and bad), there is no eBay. I don't think we can transcend this simple mistake for the decline of nations because people don't read an entire description or take "personal responsibility".
  9. I think the orange car is now blue, no? Mean looking engine - I have been thinking of picking up a V-10 to drop in something.
  10. Great look. I love the yellow. Nice work. The open roof is a great idea too.
  11. Really cool. I like the exhaust and the checker accents. Nice work.
  12. I was thinking the same thing - grab a 350 from revell Nova or even a 327 from the 66 Nova.
  13. 390 FE from AMT's 67 Comet. A very nice model engine. Would have been pretty common back then, too, and easy to upgrade for the street.
  14. Because I have seen a couple great builds with this kit - nice kit, and cheap For the SOHC 427 ...and Micro brass tube - telescoping. Pretty cool - now I just have to find something to do with it.
  15. Very cool look - I like the black wheels with the baby moons on back and yellow spokes up front. Ride height is just right. The side view mirror is a little distracting though - can't find anything else I don't like.
  16. That turned out really great. Nice work. I bet it's fun having such a little project! I like both bikes - thanks for putting up the pictures.
  17. Email Norman. He knows exactly what he has and how much. I'll get his email when I can find the catalog...
  18. eHobbies sent out a email - but the "deals" didn't seem good at all. Michael's has a 50% off coupon through the week and, as stated above, Hobby Lobby has a 40% off Haven't seen anything online that is worth mentioning.
  19. Thanks for the info. I will have to look into this if I sell more kits - I usually defaulted to USPS because, well, that's what I always did. John (OP) - you could look into this too, if you decide to ship the kit to Brazil. The other "issue" with US sellers selling abroad is the time. We can ship in the US without having to visit the post office - print everything online and schedule a pick up with our regular carrier. With international shipments, they require customs forms and you have to weigh and pay at the PO - so it takes quite a bit more effort.
  20. Cool, cool build. Nice work. A hornet can also have stripes, similar to your "standard" Yellow Jacket. In fact, some hornets look very much like the wasp most people associate with the name Yellow Jacket, and often times the two are easily confused. Now, my favorite member of the Vespidae family is the Bald-Faced hornet (black with a white face). I have seen one bite the head off of a Yellow Jacket and take the body back to its nest. Oh, yes...Nice model.
  21. EBay search yielded 9.99 with no bidders. One completed listing 20.00 with no bidders. Also a policed version 19.99 with free shipping buy it now, still available. So, $35 may be high. Doesn't seem to be too desirable.
  22. I have sold airplane models to buyers in Brazil with no problems (and Chile, Argentina, even El Salvador!). It is risky though as first class international does not allow tracking or insurance - just let the seller know. Even with tracking, some foreign posts don't seem to track anything. And as noted above - you can block all foreign bidders and this one probably couldn't read English well enough to understand the shipping stipulation. I enjoy selling internationally and find the bids go higher when adding another few billion customers.
  23. Beautiful build all the way around. Nice work.
