  1. This truck looks like it's just going on it's first delivery run. I have one of these and this is quite inspiring! Very nice, clean work.
  2. Recently acquired toys include the 1/8 Revell 79 Trans Am which I got cheaper from Germany than any US vendors had it, and these two bike kits. Although the boxes (boxen?) are a little rough, both are mint inside.
  3. You should try reading Reddit or one of the other social disaster platforms. If this is our future, I want no part of it.
  4. Immaculate work!
  5. I almost bid on that. It's very cool but I'm...over extended, both financially and kit wise. I took an inventory and found I have 36 1/8 or 1/6 bikes. ? Congrats on your win, and definitely post pics when you get going on it.
  6. My dad was a big stamp collector and he gave us boys some of them to mess around with. I got into it a little when I was younger. What I know about stamps is that rarity and condition are huge in determining value. U.S. stamps that are canceled are generally not worth anything unless they are rare. Now days even having a hinge installed on the back that disturbs the gum can devalue an otherwise pristine example. Full sheets and what they used to call plate blocks in mint condition have some value. I can tell you that you should enjoy the stamps in the photo for what they are - a slice of history, or pass them on to a kid to perhaps get them interested. Unfortunately there is no reason to think that any of those in the photo are worth much at all. Generally, you can buy thousands of canceled stamps for just a few bucks. We sifted through them for hours as kids.
  7. Beautiful work! Keep posting pictures please!
  8. Nice find! I have several 1/8 cars. All of those are very desirable kits. Be careful with that Jag, the front suspension and core support area are very fragile. (Ask me how I know)
  9. Man you did a great job with that old kit! I built one 30 plus years ago in the same color scheme. Didn't look quite like that...?
  10. Found one on Amazon if you're willing to pay $50 for it. On the bright side, it will last for years! https://www.amazon.com/Pledge-Floor-Finish-Gloss-27/dp/B002YC438C/ref=sr_1_2?keywords=future+acrylic+floor+finish&qid=1670705925&sr=8-2 Oh, and here's the Quick Shine for a much better price! https://www.amazon.com/Quick-Shine-Multi-Surface-Finish-Polish/dp/B007TSJLCE/ref=sr_1_6?keywords=future+acrylic+floor+finish&qid=1670705925&sr=8-6
  11. Look for Pledge Revive It Floor Gloss. Same stuff.
  12. I like the longest bed because it balances the cab well.
  13. From here it looks like you have plenty to be proud of. Nice looking mild custom!
  14. Looks like you still got it! Nicely done.
  15. Perfect build. The weathering is top notch!
  16. Very cool! For some reason I especially like the spilled gas detail. Looks real!
  17. Just hit the Hobby Lobby in Waco. Pretty decent selection of kits at 40% off, no coupon required. I got a Revell Jeep Wrangler Rubicon, an MPC 78 Dodge pickup for cheap, and I also picked up a couple of Revell 29 Roadsters which they now have at list price of 39.99. I won't be buying new kits at that price. Tomorrow is last day of the sale. For now.

    First Diorama

Wow, sign me up! I'm all about easy and cheap.
  19. This. Basically new in box. 1983 issue. Not everyone's cup of tea, but I'm strangely drawn to these old bike kits. Unfortunately this one smells like the bottom of an ashtray. The cardboard and paper soaked up the odor badly. The plastics - not too bad. I set it out in the weak sun that we had today and it seemed to help. Wiped off the box with a towel dampened with Windex and that helped a bit too. I burned the box it came in. Any other suggestions for odor removal?
  20. Can't say for sure on the 40, but many cars of that era didn't really have the wheels well centered. I don't think the design engineers really cared that much. I had a 48 Chevy Aerosedan that had a problem with the rear wheels and my 54 F100 had the same with the front wheels. The solution in both cases was aftermarket springs that had relocated pins for the spring perches. I had planned to install Posies "down and forward" springs for the F100 before I sold it.
  21. Really crisp work there! I'd drive that.
  22. Welcome aboard, Steve! You have some great retirement plans! I'd like one of those Trans-Ams, but I'm about out of room...maybe the kitchen cabinets over the refrigerator where my wife can't reach....
