  1. Well it sure looks the part! Kudos on a great build.
  2. I'm probably in for the Chevelle and the Willys. And the Cougar, and the Riv. Who am I kidding?
  3. Guys, I've used Firefox for years. Along with Adblocker Ultimate and Cookie Autodelete. I never see an advertisement. Never. It's seamless and works perfectly with this forum and any others I visit. If you're using Chrome or Explorer or Edge, you're doing it to yourself.
  4. I know this isn't what you meant, but I bought this vintage early 90s Floquil airbrush last year. Probably made by Badger. I've never seen another one.
  5. Bob, I always love following your builds. I like the measured, practical approach you take, and the neatness of your work and work area. Frankly, I'm a mess when I get started. I love the 53 - great to see it being built by a pro!
  6. So, Amazon shipped a package (via USPS apparently) for my wife - in theory. This morning I was working in my driveway. I came in to get a drink and found this email waiting: Unfortunately, USPS ran into an issue when attempting your delivery. They will try again. You can contact USPS for more information. I was in my driveway all morning, No delivery was attempted. Detail left by the driver on the website: Cannot deliver. Mailbox full. *!#@%!! I called customer service and finally got a chat bot that "transferred" my text conversation to an "associate" who finally assured me my package would be delivered by the end of today. Right. I'm holding my breath. What a cluster...
  7. A little more headway this morning before it gets too hot outside. The new buckets line up fairly well but some tweaking and shimming will be necessary. These old cars have such miserable gap tolerances. Now waiting on some 7" round retaining rings.
  8. I am sure you are correct. I don't see signs of body work, but that doesn't mean anything really. I am aware of that trim being correct, but honestly, my eventual goal is to remove the existing trim in favor of a pinstripe of some kind. Although, in the meantime if you could let me know who might have the trim, I'd be grateful. My searches have been unsuccessful. I also really like the low profile hub caps! The originals protrude way too far for my taste. I was under the impression that the small hub caps were an option on 6 cylinder cars only, but I may be mistaken. Another item I am going to add is 10" tires in the back. Those wheel wells will swallow a lot of tire!
  9. Thank you! As far as I can tell this is a "Classic" model. The passenger side is missing the front dog leg of the trim . The one I had was mangled. The original color was a two tone brown and tan. I'm happy that the color was changed, just wish they'd spent a bit more time and money on it, but that was years ago. At least it's shiny! Fun fact: It already has a 74 grille in it. The previous owner broke the 77 grille (plastic I think). The 74 grille is all some kind of pot metal, including the surround. The surround on the 77 is aluminum.
  10. Yeah, nothing like the possibility of instant death or serious injury to keep the pulse pounding. The other big issue I'm having is age related. It just hurts to crawl under the car and is even less fun getting back up. So I try to make sure I have every tool I'm going to need. Never works, but I try.
  11. Thanks, Nathan! It's a 77 so has the stacked rectangle front headlights. I'm not particularly a fan of those so I am now installing some 74 round headlight buckets.
  12. After a long bout of procrastination I finally got the new shocks, dropped spindles, shorter springs and front sway bar installed. I should point out how much I hate installing front springs. This might be the last set I do myself. Car is dirty from the shop.
  13. Just re-read William Gibson's Neuromancer for the umpteenth time since the late 1980s. Funny, I found out about this book through a Commodore 64 video game of the same title. Other than a few anachronisms such as the failure to predict the cell phone it holds up really well as a dystopian vision of what the internet might have been. The entire Sprawl Trilogy is excellent, as are some of his other works. They really bear re-reading because there is so much detail and nuance, it's easy to miss the first time through.
  14. Just think of the overload springs and heavy duty shocks on the back of that! Great concept and well executed! Note: Has that gal got pants on?
  15. Outstanding detail! Don't beat yourself up on the little stuff. This is a show winner in my book.
  16. Love these! You did a fine job of building and detailing these kits.
  17. I live on a rural county road. Wash and wax brings dust clouds from cars passing at 60 plus mph.
  18. I'm really liking this Zippi! I think you're killing it! (in a good way) Like most of us, I'm not prepared to pay for an original kit, so I might fire up the printer for one of these as well!
  19. I made an offer on this lot and got them cheaply as well! Both complete in open boxes. Sure the 64 is not the new Moebius offering but I like the old kits equally, for different qualities.
  20. Got this lot from eBay very cheap. Yes, parts are missing here and there but that gives me the mental green light to modify to my tastes. Patent Pending is complete minus wheels and tires and a few minor things. Glue on some parts but not too much, so it will be easy disassembly. Riviera appears complete with an extra chassis and tub. Body is molded in gray but the rest is yellow. I'm guessing a different issue was molded entirely in gray. No motor in the International. Time to fire up the printer! The Mythos appears complete, but I have little to no interest in it, so it may be a parts kit or trade fodder. The McLaren sadly has no body, but maybe I can find a print file for that too...
  21. This has always been one of my favorites. Well done! On the sconces: Perhaps use a paint pen for the gilding? Maybe also mask the "glass" and trim it with a very sharp blade. Just some random thoughts.
  22. I have something similar to this. Works amazingly well. If you have a sawzall this'll make your life easy... https://www.amazon.com/MixKwik-Paint-Shaker-2-0-Reciprocating/dp/B0DVBJ8QD8?ref_=ast_sto_dp
