  1. ...dang near! Nice looking rig. Takes me right back a few decades, thumbing through those magazines and dreaming of the possibilities.
  2. I think the main reason for this is that the old fogeys like us are the ones with disposable income. Companies have to chase the dollars in order to stay in business, at least short term. I mean a single average kit is around thirty bucks. Also, younger generations are focused on social media and have incredibly short attention spans. Nowhere near long enough to actually spend the time creating something like a model car kit. Sadly, I just don't think most of the big model manufacturers will survive the demise of our generation.
  3. Not my first choice either, however, everyone has different tastes. I'm old enough to think 15's are great because I like the bigger sidewalls and the ride quality is superior to the big hoops. I really lost interest when wheels became more of a fashion statement and actually degraded performance in some aspects. Here is my 67 Lemans with "age appropriate" wheels. In my opinion, of course.
  4. Not a car but just snagged this lot of great diorama bits for the opening bid. I'm especially stoked about the gas pumps.
  5. I like these Sterlite bins you can get from several places. I get them from Dollar General. I keep tires and wheels and other parts in them. You can see the contents through the sides and they come in a variety of sizes.
  6. Of course, you have to eat the dog food first....just saying.
  7. Looking great! I love to see the creativeness on this board. Great chassis work.
  8. This is a really great looking build. The interior really pops! Also, nice save with the steering wheel.
  9. That is superb craftsmanship! A great exercise of imagination - which is what modeling is all about!

    The Yard

Really impressive! So much detail it appears real. At 1/35th it's even more so.
  11. They do call it "practice" when it comes to medicine. I am continually amazed at the different outcomes that can be had by simply switching doctors.
  12. This has always been one of my pet peeves. It's almost perverse how a company decides to create tooling in a scale that isn't compatible, sometimes even with their own products.
  13. Great looking build! Very authentic. As always, the added details make it convincing.
  14. I have that kit and it seems to be of really nice quality. I don't remember what I paid for it but I know the shipping was not cheap as I got mine from Hobby Link Japan in a large box with many other kits. Thanks for the heads-up on the Amazon possibilities.
  15. Good to hear. Persistence can pay off. Unfortunately, so many companies have outsourced customer service to locations where it's VERY difficult to even communicate, much less obtain said service.
  16. I have Mod Podge in my arsenal as well.
  17. Geez, that sucks! eBay is going to eventually manage to bring themselves down through gross incompetence and reliance on AI. They won't be alone in that boat, either. If this kind of idiocy becomes the norm for them, people will get fed up and go elsewhere for their needful things. I hope you get your issue resolved asap.
  18. I use a variety of glues depending on the situation. Zap CA. Tamiya Extra Thin, Plastruct Plastiweld, Elmers for mock up. But I do like this for general assembly:
  19. I have found many sellers to waffle on descriptions: "I don't know if it's complete", when the instructions are right there. Just pure laziness. "You be the judge, look at pictures to be sure what you're getting.", then posting a couple of blurry pictures of all the sprues in a mixed up pile. More laziness. And the recent useless AI description trend just makes me want to shop elsewhere. Even more laziness.
  20. Nice to know info about the chassis and body. Thank you.
  21. I had to have the 71 Demon to replicate my high school buddy's car. Man, he flogged the poo out of that poor Dodge! I had also been wanting a later model Corvair for awhile. (And I grabbed the Monza 2+2 - because Roadkill.)
  22. That's almost like...FREE in US currency.
  23. I'm happy to have four of the five. I've got one minty T-Bone Stake and a gluey parts car which I used to supplement my Moon Mixer which had some important delicate parts broken in shipping. Along with the Patent Pending which is open but mint, I also have a un-built 1979 Advent release called The Medicine Man. The der Guber Wagen is sealed mint. I read somewhere on this forum that the Guber Wagen was modified to make the T-Bone if I recall correctly. I also would love to see all of these kits reissued so everyone can enjoy them at reasonable prices.
  24. If you mean the Revell show rods, they can scarcely be found in the US, either. I paid dearly for those and never looked back. The hell of it is that now I have to decide to build them or not...I also have a T-Bone Stake that is a re-builder. Maybe I'll scratch the itch that way. Still looking for the Meter Cheater.
  25. Man that sucks! Your back is...well, everything. Get better soon.
