Rick...he did get some from garage sales years ago but most he bought when they were new. Many of his got damaged and lost parts years before I got a hold of them...then a few years ago we had a breakin here and several large boxes of his old unbuilt kits and promos were taken while other build ups were damaged...some look like they were stepped on even? That is just my problem there old or rare models and promos but since they were his I cant give up on them. The kits others have donated and sent me go to the disabled builders group unless they send one for me in the batch to build. I do have some of my dads that I have already restored and a few that were not damaged there on display in the house here. Nothing wrong with asking me...its how we all learn...

I have the same problem with our hobby lobby....most stuff never shows up here and I miss a lot of stuff that comes out....bummer.

The only real thing that kills my drive to build is trying to find parts or a certain kit for the build...gets old after a lot of time goes by looking.

I have 2 67 Cadillac Coupe Deville HT promos from my dads old stuff but sadly they both need a lot..sorry no photos of them. They need body,glass,bumpers,wheels,taillights to restore them. I also have a Johan 68 Coupe DeVille HT...needs glass and body though...bummer.

Things I hate.... Trying to find the much needed parts to restore them. Chassis screws always seem to be missing. Needing 70s series width white wall tires and none for them. Doing weeks worth of bodywork just to have a bad can of paint ruin it all when you have to strip it. Things I love.... 60s and 70s models and promos. Johan snap kits. Building keeps me from living a bored life. The satisfaction of restoring an old kit or promo. Building vehicles the family owned when I can find them. My brother modelers.

Our truck left me stranded yesterday.... ...guessing it lost spark had plenty of fuel.

OUCH...! been there done that...a few years ago I almost cut my thumb of with a razor knife tool. Any kit can be built...one just might not like it or it might not be a good one but they all can be built...there are times where id build anything just to kill being bored.

Shame they do not do the Bates house in 1/25th scale.

Me I am a mostly HT kind of guy but all those are cool.

Mine built very well...would build more of them.

Matt....hang in there buddy things will get better for you in time...sounds like you have had a touch of my kind of luck.

I thought it was Bill....molded in blue body is not too bad off but the roof part is shot...be nice to find a kit part for it...it still has the hood ornament.

Id like to find the Johan snap kit Javlen or AMX kit....never could find one in decent shape reasonable.

I have one too Charlie...its molded in blue a HT with a metal chassis but the roof part is shot....think its a promo?

I have never sold one of my builds...traded a few over the years and built some for others to have for free. Shipping is always a BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH shoot....they ether get there ok or not some people just do not care on the job and have no respect. Usually if someone sends me something for myself Ill have it the rest of my life and will be part of my collection...a friend of mine passed and he left his collection to me about 15 years ago...still have all of them.

Nice!... I have that one with a metal chassis...roof part warped cracked and brittle though.
