  1. Dan buddy....COOL project..! I love campers and camping trailers...we need more kits of them. Maybe you should start making and selling some..?
  2. Ok Ill through my 2 cents in here.... Sink marks in chrome parts. Mounting holes in bodies...we can put them in if wanted...same for holes in hoods, etc. Box showing ether white or red wall tires and none in the box. Skinny white wall tires...many kits need a wider white wall tire to fill up the huge wheel well openings so they do not look like bicycle tires on them. Continuous reissues of the same old kit...lets have some more new blood from the past please...I realize its a cost thing...annual 60s and 70s stuff please. Bring back more of the old 3 in 1 kits...it promotes buying another kit to use them on as well as gives the builder other choices to build it as. Warped or crushed bodies due to how they were in the boxes. Kits molded super thin plastic...Id rather have a thick one over one that seems see through or close to.
  3. Welcome Justin..! Many of us here build for ourselves...they only have to make you happy in the end. Over time you can achieve anything you want to do. Best advise anyone ever gave me is to treat every part as if it were a model itself....and building is no race...build at your own pace. Some of the builds here have taken them a year to complete. I am sure you will do just fine....not all of us are master builders but we all love building just the same.
  4. AWESOME BUILD..! Love everything about it...and its a 4 door whats not to like...LOL
  5. Welcome Mark from another Mark...LOL... I have been building since the age of about 6 or 7....build/restore models and promos mostly 1/25th or 1/24rth scales but been wanting to try some very large scale stuff just to see what i can do with them.
  6. My first real car was a 72 Toronado....my dad owned a 67,68,70 once...man did they run.
  7. WOW..! I really dig this resin cab....love to build some older trucks like that.
  8. Tommy...I love the wagon..awesome..! We owned several wagons id love to build replicas of...one was a 69 Chevy wagon...COOL..!
  9. Andy...I agree about the kids interests and cost issues. Me...I am on a very small income from disability and it effects my ability to purchase many things including kits to keep me busy with...I have had to pass up many reissues I have waited many years to see again due to the cost verses my income or what is left of it after bills. I have many old ones that were my dads to restore just have to find the needed parts for them...if that ever happens Ill have plenty to keep me busy for a couple of years.
  10. Awesome find Steve....been after one myself for awhile for my Ford pickup collection...nice..!
  11. Welcome James...! There are many great painters here...I am sure a few of them can help you with advise.
  12. Welcome Michael...! I have been building all my life too but my normal scale has been 1/25th or 1/24rth....been wanting to try out some very large scale stuff just to see how much detail I can add to one just seems like fun.
  13. Those Coronet bodies are too good for a crushed car diorama....they still have plenty of life left in them. I have built some nice models from less.
  14. What a buy..! Wish i could get that lucky on one. Yep the trim is very faint on them..shame cool truck....me being a factory stock guy mostly it would be stock if I found me one. Good luck on the foiling work.
  15. Your welcome Brain...I built the Super Boss as a kid was too young or lacked the skills to build it nice hoping to get one in the future to try again. My favorite diesel engines were the old school 4,6-71s with the side mounted blowers...love the old school stuffs looks 1970s and older.
  16. Welcome Steven..! Sounds like cool projects to me. Id like to try a diorama myself sometime...I have a few planed to do.
  17. Steve...AWESOME score on the GMC kit...! I built one as a kid loved it....very cool box art as well.
  18. A wealth of information here gents....thanks! I found out the hard way a long time ago to just be safe and use the original type screws if one needs to use some like me...I like trying to keep them as original as possible when restoring them when it comes to old models or promos. I remember seeing those odd Johan metal pin type ones with no screw head too...they were interesting to have to mess with. I found most original style chassis screws are close enough to work on most that had them whatever the brand of promo or kit it was. Second thing is old plastic gets brittle...I have actually coated the mounting posts with 2 part epoxy glue to help make them stronger before just have to remember to let it set up all the way first before mounting the chassis. The old screw chassis ones and promos are my favorites.
  19. Love it..! I am a wagon nut myself...I have a small wagon collection started...LOL..
  20. Very cool project....I like the older rigs.
  21. I have the same problem with mine....they always seem to be missing and everything else I have tried just breaks the mounting posts or.? I could use any originals anyone could spare for my restoration projects.
