Most of them. Some I can repair, but I might have to replace 1 or 2 pieces. Joe Baril of my Classic Plastic Model Club says he might have a parts kit for me. We shall see.

Thanks Tony and Carl! So far it has been a little bit of a challenge, but nothing I can't handle. I dismantled the T-Bird as much as I wanted to and now for some painting and reassembly. This Thunderbird is a glue bomb behind all of the chrome and assembled parts. It still looks like a child assembled it!

I got this model from Joe Baril of my Model Club and I have been staring at it for over a month. It was part of a give-away from another passed Club member and it was offered to me since I built the Vega$ '57 T-Bird a couple of years ago. It needs the front suspension, the fourth wheel and tire and a few other parts and pieces plus painting. The model is built basic and it seems to be built by a child with some skill, but not a lot. I think I will dismantle it further, paint it and rebuild it as a restomod or hot rod with wider whitewall tires and mag wheels and leave the fender skirts on.

I finished the engine assembly with wiring the engine and adding an ignition coil. The transmission pan has been added to the bottom of the trans. Now to paint the chassis black. I have also determined that this Scout II is over a 1979 vintage. -

If I made one, I would make and mount a piece of styrene the size of the transmission mount and a slightly smaller piece about 1/16 inch smaller on top. I was fortunate to find one in my parts box as automatics are getting harder for me to find. -
Thanks Carl! I need to get more gloss clearcoat and Dupli-Color Gloss Clearcoat is at Walmart cheap.

I found one in my parts box. It's not exact but it is close so that is what I am going with. -
Thanks Guido!

I haven't worked on the 442 in a while so I did a mock up to see where I am at. The interior needs decals so that is next on my to do list. Here we go!

I went to assemble the engine and the automatic transmission seems to be missing the pan for it and it is not in the kit. The instructions don't show one being used. I guess I'll have to look for one or make one. The wheels and tires have bee assembled and I have started painting the interior and the body. -

Thanks Alan! There are some subjects that deserve to be replicate. The International Scout II is one of them. I do happen to like the Rallye version and maybe I'll try to replicate one. -

Alan, I like them because they are unusual subjects that you don't find elsewhere. Shape issues be d*****! I just happen to like them! -

Thanks Charles and Jonathan! The kit was manufactured in 2021, but the kit design goes back even further than that! I also have the International SSII kit by ERTL and it doesn't have a date on it, but if I had to guess, it goes back to the '70-'80s. -

Thanks Tony! It was probably meant to be built as the box art, but as a modeler, we strive to be different. I have made a change of the paint color to include a second color for the roof and that is white. Should look great as a tu-tone of white over green. -

AMT 2021 Bronco….
mrmike replied to cruz's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Nice! Good job! -
My newest project-AMT's International Scout II. This kit is only a couple of years old, but it is molded in the same colored plastic as my old International SSII Scout from ERTL. This kit was a gift from my friend Tim Rhine and it has no decals which is not a problem for me. My body paint will be Tamiya TS-43 Racing Green and the interior will be a dark tan. The interior will have the CB radio installed under the dash and the antenna mounted on the roof. One of the things this kit is known for is the lack of a radiator on this inside of the engine compartment. If there is room for one, I will add a radiator to the engine compartment to match the one on the outside of the engine compartment.
