Thank you Dann! This kit was a challenge to build and part may have been me trying to build it, too. I just hope the new Revell Jag XK-E Coupe is better to build!

Land Rover Series III LWB
mrmike replied to mrmike's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
The Story The National Crime Agency sends a team of investigators to Alston-at-Harkness and the McCann Farm. While they are looking around at McCann Farm, Agent Barchans of the NCA is at the Police Station with PC Dunbarton questioning him about Alfred McCann and what he knows about him. McNally walks into the Police Station to check up on PC Dunbarton and Agent Barchans says no comments to any information to anyone. Dunbarton explains that McNally is a former Boston Police Department Police Officer and that he can be trusted. Barchans wants McNally out of the Station and the area. The Build I spent a little time on the Land Rover yesterday. I painted the hubs and the lugnuts with Tamiya Semi Gloss Black.. I got the driveshafts and the radiator installed. Then, I noticed that the lower radiator hose was missing and I made one out of some tubing I had lying around on the bench. -
Thank you Chris!

1971 Ford F100 Ranger Pickup
mrmike replied to mrmike's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Thanks Guido! I was going to start painting the F100 Ranger today, but it is raining and 8-12 inches of snow later. This is what I get for not watching the forecast like I should! -
Thank you Carl, Chris and Gareth!

I have been rereading the instructions and staring at the box art again and I have decided to go with the deluxe tu-tone paint scheme (orange over white) instead of the combination tu-tone paint scheme (white, orange, white). I once had a '79 F150 with the deluxe tu-tone paint scheme (silver and dark blue) and it just seems simpler and more attractive to me. -
For a second year in a row, I'll miss the sidecar racers. Those guys are just plain nuts when it comes to racing!

Thank you Bruce! Yes, this is the Heller kit and it is the last Heller kit I will ever build!

Yes, the Estate known as "Robin's Nest" was torn down. The Estate was sold for $8.7 Million. Thanks Kurt and Carl! Yes, there is only one Magnum PI and that is Tom Selleck!

I just read that the Isle of Man TT Races have been cancelled for 2021. Thanks Covid-19! I have always looked forward to these races in June, but not this year. This is the second year that the TT Races have been cancelled.

The plastic in this kit is definitely brittle! I broke the cowl for the Ferrari. I decided to add a piece of .020 styrene about 2 inches long and glued the whole thing together. I'll use my Dremel to grind the excess away when all has dried. I added the broken pieces of the engine cover and glued those back on with plenty of glue. A little sanding is required later when this has had a chance to dry. Magnum PI will return...

Thank you David!

Thank you Bart, Ray and Trevor!

Thank you John and Michelle! I doubt you would be able to find a 318 CID engine at all. You could use the AMT '71 340 CID engine and add a 2-barrel carb to the top.

Thank you Larry and David! To the unsuspecting viewer, they wouldn't know the trouble that I went through with this Jaguar. While the hood seems long, the chrome strips on top of the fenders make the hood seem even longer!
-
JR, they all look great and the first place finishers are well worth the wins!
-
The body got a bath in Easy-Off Oven Cleaner and as I was rinsing the parts, the hood bent in my hand rather easily. Then the mounting ears for the hood lid fell off and it reminded me that the plastic has become brittle. I must be extra careful with this body so I don't break anything else.

The Story The Forensic report shows that the gun that McNally found was used to kill Johnny Wilson. Since no one else knows the pass code to Richie's house besides him and Charles Dennett, Dennett was to one that had taken the coin collection while Richie was out. Dennett is arrested for murder and grand theft of the coin collection. Richie accompanies McNally to BPD Headquarters and he examines the coin collection and he says that it is his. The coin collection will be photographed and returned to Richie after the court trial. The Build I have finished my Jaguar XK-E and it is posted in Under Glass. My thanks to all who have viewed and commented on my WIP.

This is my '63 Jag XK-E painted with Tamiya TS-86 Pure Red with a Tamiya TS-29 Semi Gloss Black interior, wired engine and built out of box. I removed the side windows since they were molded as part of the interior door panels.

Thank you guys! This is an excellent kit to build! Even changing the engine and transmission was easy and well worth it! I get tired of seeing the same kit with the same engine and transmission all the time!

The Story McNally walks back down to the front desk at Boston Police Headquarters to turn in his badge. Det. Darvell approaches him before he turns the badge in and asks if he could talk to him. They walk over to a far corner of the lobby and Darvell says he is just doing his job and he is trying to shake any and all information out of whoever he talks to. McNally says that Darvell needs to relearn how to talk to suspects and people in general. All he is doing is getting people mad at him and not doing his cases any good. He tells Darvell that he needs to relearn investigative techniques and to start over again. Darvell listens to McNally and he says he is sorry for the trouble he has caused. He turns and walks away and McNally suspects that Darvell will not bother relearning anything and continue on irritating anybody he talks to. The Build I started final assembly of the Jaguar XK-E Cabriolet by adding the front bumpers and grille. I work on the rear of the Jag later and then do a polishing of the body which has a lot of fingerprints, especially on the hood.
