    MG-TC

I am currently on a British motor vehicle kick and this kit was gifted to me by the Co-Treasurer of my Club since he knew of my fondness for British cars. This is the Monogram MG-TC in 1/24 scale and the copyright on the kit is 1982, so it is an old kit. I plan on building it box stock and in the same colors as the Tamiya Morgan 4/4 I built last year...Tamiya British Green with Model Master Dark Red seats. I find this amazing especially since an MG-TC was restored on the TV series, For The Love Of Cars, hosted by Philip Glenister and Ant Anstead (pre-Wheeler Dealer days). More to come...
  2. Thank you Vince!
  3. Thanks Tom and Bob! Bob, I took the pictures maybe five minutes after I had finished painting the Talladega. The paint was still wet then. I have A/C in the house and it had been running for several day straight until it rained. Now I am having an elecrical issue with the outside lights tripping the breaker. If it isn't one thing, it's another!
  4. I have finished rehabbing the interior. Since I used flat black on the entire interior, I coated everything but the floor with Model Master Semi Gloss Clear Lacquer. I misted several coats and it didn't interact with the enamel paint I used twenty years ago. The floor was flocked with black embossing powder and I misted a couple of coats of Model Master Flat Black Lacquer over the embossing powder. I created a new shift lever for the automatic transmission with a piece of thin sprue. A mockup with the chassis. I need to finish wiring the engine and add the radiator hoses and the air cleaner. More to come...

    2015 Bullitt

Adding the headlight detail was easy, but you have to find the left and right headlight pictures and resize them to fit the model headlights. I was fortunate enough to be able to find the left AND right headlight pictures of the same car on Goggle Images. Use a little thinner and remove the silver paint on the lens and add your picture with some gloss clear to hold the picture.

    2015 Bullitt

That's interesting, Jeremy. I built one as a tribute to the late Robert Urich of Spenser For Hire fame. I may have used the same paint!
  7. Thank you Tom and Lee! Tom, I did learn something about this mess I had created. Slow down and CAREFULLY read the instructions. I think I may have gotten cocky with this build since I built the Ford Transit Mk. II by Italeri.
  8. Thank you John! I'll keep that in mind when I get back to this build at some point...
  9. Thanks Steve! It is a great color and straight from the spraycan, too!
  10. I know, I know...it's humid outside, but it's nice and cool here in the house. I decide to paint the Talladega this afternoon with Model Master Royal Blue Pearl over Model Master White Primer and it looks really good! I'll let this dry for a few days and go from there. More to come...
  11. Thanks Geoff! Like I said previously, it will be much later
  12. Well, it has been about 4 weeks since I last posted about the '61 Impala SS409. Just for the heck of it, I placed the model into a plastic box and covered it completely with Easy-Off Oven Cleaner and I left it for a week. I removed the model from the box last week and using a stiff bristle brush and Dawn dish detergent, I removed a good share of the paint. At some point and it will be much later, I'll sand off the remaining red Model Master paint, reprime with Dupli-Color White Primer and repaint with Dupli-Color Light Blue Metallic. Then we shall see if the paint dries completely.
  13. Thanks Dominick! There will be more...
  14. I haven't gotten a whole lot done on the Foose Coronet, but I do have this... The hood louvers are gone and the hood is almost ready for primer. Just need some more sanding. I got the wheels and tires assembled. I started to assemble the engine and I drilled the distributor for plug wires. More to come...
  15. Thanks Guido! Been working on the Talladega today. I added the distributor and fanned out the wires to be criss-crossed later. I'll make a ignition coil as well. When I removed the fan and belt assembly, I broke the mounting pins. I drilled the water pump, engine block and the fan belt assembly for new pins. This should tell you a lot. I was on a 4-speed kick when I built this model, so I drill a hole into the floorboard for a parts box Hurst shifter with T-handle even though the transmission was a C6 automatic. I filled the hole and will added embossing powder and paint it all flat black. More to come...
  16. Thank you Steve, Bruce and Tom.
  17. I spent some time on the Talladega chassis this morning. Repainted the chassis and suspensions, detailing the suspensions, and adding the wheels and tires. The engine is coming along slowly. The distributor and the heads have been drilled for plug wires and paint touchups on the block. The hood and body were washed and now I am thinking more about painting the body and not worry about the decals. More to come...
  18. I've been thinking about the wheels and tires for this rebuild. The kit wheelbacks seem to be a tad soft around the edge of the rim. I decided on a set of Pegasus Chrome Shuey's with tires to replace them with. Then I drilled the distributor and heads for plug wires and I repainted the rear differential and the air cleaner and made a set of shocks for the rear. More to come...

    Volvo 760 GLE

Thank you everyone! This Volvo was definitely a different type of rebuild!
  20. Thanks Cliff, but Bond drove a DB5! Not a DB4.
  21. I may leave mine in white, unless I can find another set of decals.
  22. Thank you Curt, Steve, Anders and Rich!
