  1. I got stuck on the making the rear end mounts for my pro mod frames (out of brass, cant bend styrene for peanuts). Everything would start coming apart at the other joints but I've since learned about transferring the heat so will get back to these in the new year. extended the front end and through the rear guards and chopped the top on this, all 1sts for me at the time and this one was finished but I wasn't happy with it so need to redo part of the frame and somewhere there's a 59 caddy with a chopped top that the bondo warped the roof on
  2. I agree looks great from here too.
  3. beautiful Bob, I'm so jealous , it'll take months to get that kit over here and I cant afford to mail order one at the moment. Great job even if it was a quick build
  4. and should have the mad magazine firebird fc anytime now
  5. Mike, I just went and checked for you, The firebird chassis is way to wide to fit. The olds chassis fits pretty good and wheelbase is pretty close. The pro sportsman (55 and 57 Chev) are almost made for it (you would need to cut off just bebind the wheel tubs on all of them) and those kits are still pretty easy to get hold of, that's the way I would go if it were me.

Thanks David, well got the glass in ,interior and chssis in and gave the body one more polish session (about 15 minutes) finally getting there with paint taken a while and still have a way to go.... but getting there. For anyone yet to build this the interior/chassis are very/were hard to get into place because of the shape of the body so take your time . I forgot to put the roll bar in so will see if I can get it through the window tomorrow.

Thanks Michelle, Had/having issues with photobucket since yesterday afternoon, but have finally got into it to post these. all in all so far its been a really nice kit.
  8. I think what I like most about your builds (apart from the outstandingly superb finish and mind boggling attention to detail ) is the fact that you build a lot of the (maybe not obscure and defineatly not second rate) cars but the ones you rarely see depicted. Great work as always,
  9. very nice Jim.
  10. Street machine ? Building it with the hemi .Black outside with silver stripes on the back, black interior with grey carpet etc. Cleaned up mold lines and sprayed everything in primer on monday, yesterday painted everything thats going to b black (nearly everthing ). Last night starteed detailing the chassis and wetsanded and cleared the body. The body as I started last night chassis body after clear before polish Body and engine are Duplicolor black acryilic/enamel as is the clear , chassis and interior are Dupont black basecoat as it gives a nice satin sheen. Apart from the color scheme I had/have no idea where this ones going other than working on some basics.

  13. Wow David, you can really see the improvment with each build. Congrats man. And great job on my second most favorite car in its best color too:rolleyes:
  14. I agree. And once the body's on half that work will seemingly disapear ,leaving you to wonder what you were stressing about .

  22. Hey Derrick, looking good man though I personally think the body looks a little too short (lenghtwise behind the doors). Really nice shape though. Your engine work looks killer, very clean and well detailed. I'll be watching .
