  1. Cool mate, thanks a lot, always been interested in this car but no one seemed to know anything
  2. Mike, are you sure? talking early-mid 70s at Freemont here
  3. I've seen a few over the years, of the two I've built only one was as the kit http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v392/awesome55/no%20cars%20like%20mopars/superbeeoutside2.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v392/awesome55/no%20cars%20like%20mopars/sbmotorcloseup1.jpg the other was as a pro mod http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v392/awesome55/doorslammers/superbeedone001.jpg
  4. I've got the lindberg 67 442 and the revell 55 vert. This might give me the motovation to build them,I've done the vert a few years ago, must take some decent pics of it.
  5. very nice, clean build ,two thumbs up
  6. think the stripper musta been a bit of a slapper, hiro came back with a funny pink rash all over (funny cause the nailpolish had to go through black lacquer and lacquer primer to touch the body). and some damaged side trim but a bit of putty some sanding, a bit more putty its as good as new again. And now its Back in Black I know this is the other side but it looks just as good now will give a slight wetsand tomorrow if I get a chance so I can re lay the red. Stock motor pic, nothing special just didnt see the point of hiding such a nice looking offy flathead more pics here if youre interested http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v392/awesome55/whats%20on%20the%20bench/
  7. Thanks guys Erick the offy heads came with both the issues of the AMT 49 merc kit I have. the one with the red car and the one with the black
  8. Well I'll show you the pics of it foiled but its visiting a stripper at the moment, couple of little chips in the red that I wasnt happy with . Not so long ago I would have done a sub standard repair, but not any more( well to be completely honest I did but wasnt happy with it ). swapping this flathead out for a more stock one as the wont be opened to see it

Not surprise you're happy man, that looks great! Going by the rest of the engine, maybe dullcote the rocker cover?
  10. Thanks guys,really appreciated
  11. Thanks guys, John coming from you that means a lot ! Still messed up on the main body paint (came up a little too high with the blue:angry: ) Dusty ,sorry dude but I will be getting to the rail soon along with his 57 chev fc, 69 barracuda fc and the monogram front engine and still have the snake /goose fc combo. He'll need his own shelf soon lol. Wayne, yeah used your tut to lower the hight on this one(as well) though this one seemed to have a few more issues than most especially reguarding the tin work fit
  12. Very cool, its great to see different types of cars being built like this
  13. Hi Tom, looking good, but as you asked forsome advice.......... i would shorten the very back of the floorpan a little to centre the rear wheels in the opening, this is probably going to mean you need to lengthen all the front frame a little but isnt hard to do. New pics are much better by the way.
  14. Thought I had put up the finished pics but hadnt so here they are. Have to get a new one so I can have another go at this one
  15. I was kinda hoping that with a new frame half of the problems with this kit would have been solved. Guess not. Mines in the drag section if you want to check it out. Had to butcher the tin in mine after modifing the ride hight.
  16. looking good, and I'm really glad to see the guards match the body colour
  17. dont know what mold release they used but talk about a pain to remove, took a couple of attempts to get it to where the primer would stick. Then smoothed off with some 2000 then sprayed the black for the base. Havent got anymore of that red that was on the spoon and worse still have no record of what it was , so sprayed some more spoons black and sprayed each with a different red polish from left no.22 then red silk ,then no.14 ,then the original spoon. Went with no.14 got to leave it to dry so I can polish and foil it. interiors just roughed in at the moment, once the reds properly dry I'll go back and clean everything up. only just cut the front seats off the sprue to take this pic
  18. thanks Niko.last pics
  19. Well the pics are sure big enough to see any flaws (which build wise "I" cant). Looks great man, mine are only coming into this good around build 200.
  20. Thanks and I hope it works ok, I think it should. Yes and no. Resin is softer so its easier to sand which means you have to be more careful so you dont sand too much. It also needs super glue to be glued and you have to be careful about cleaning it or stripping paint as some common mediums (ie brake fluid) can melt it right in front of your eyes. The main thing is there's a whole world of unkitted cars out there that is available in resin form which can give you a whole new array of cars to build. I'm not going to get into the whos best/worst debate but I will say jimmy flinstones stuff is cheap (if you have a mishap its not a lot of cash to lose) ,I've always found the outside of his bodies to be great, quality wise though they are on the thick side inside which can be a little trickier to deal with but again they are cheap.
  21. Jimmy Flinstone, Hirohata merc (I think, had it for a while cant remember). Using amt 49 modified chassis and sectioned interior. This is the ride hight and the spoon is the colour everything above the chrome trim will be, below the trim will be gloss black. Staying with steelies and will add white walls to the tires.
  22. Thanks guys, getting close to done now
  23. nice looking camaro Earl
  24. great build man ! Love mustang ll funny cars
