  1. A bit over 200, but every one is brought with a specific car in mind to try and replicate. I too am a firm beleiver in they were made to be built, otherwise they are assorted bits of plastic dumped in a box
  2. lmao, shouldnt really say I know what you mean as I have about 150 completed in the lounge cabinets, but there is about 15 unfinished that are two or more years old. Around 200 + unbuilts at a guess.
  3. Such a hard question to answer, but probably this one

well got one bottle that fits great and one that will be turned into something else lol. Did get another couple of things made up for another project so wasnt a complete waste. Anyway paint and a couple of other things....... Paint is mainly Dupont lacquer whilst the orange is enamel. Masked off the lighter blue on doors then spayed the darker blue. Just as it flashed with the tape still on I did the orange (with brush) ,as soon as one side was finished (orange) I pulled off the mask then repeated. Nothing lifted which shouldnt which was a huge releif, hoping I'll be able to touch up orange where needed later.
  6. Wow man those wheels look great! Well worth the effort. Hope you can find the/a nose piece somewhere
  7. I love this year notchback and you've done a killer job on it, two thumbs up
  8. I share in the hope it might inspire others. I dont think my stuff is all that good (but not actually bad) but hopefully someone can take an idea I've had and improve on it or solve a problem that they may not have an answer to. I also like to help people out where I can, if they've asked a question that I know "an" answer to just like I've been helped. Other than that the club I belong to meets once a month a two hour drive each way of me ( most of them a qtr of the distance at the most) so posting also gives me a chance to share and get feedback more than said once a month.
  9. pretty much one whole wall in our lounge is taken up by model cars, centre wall the wuite cabinet is 6'x5' by 7'deep with a slightly smaller case on top and at either end of that are two 3'x3'x 1' cabinets, only have a pic of one at the moment above this one is a built in one about 3'x20"x1' and above the unpictured one is another 3'x3' 1' which is the wifes one. I only have room for about 5 more cars but have a few hundred to build yet.

thanks man! one step closer. Color finished sanding, primering then chucked some colour on this evening. Main body is going to need a little more sanding (paint highlighted some stuff that primer helped hide) and the blues a bit too dark. But thats ok the main thing I want to take away from this build is tiding up body work issues ,something I've nearly always rushed with before. going to the inlaws tomorrow night to machine up some aluminum for a couple of projects as well as this one (gas bottles fo back)
  11. Regardless of sex you do some great work, maybe the fact you're a chick makes it cooler? . Whichever its very clean and looks great.Nice color combos to. I have to agree with the 99percent finished to. Quite often I'll go back and touchup something or add something. Cant wait to see more of your builds

Usually so would I but the point of the exercise (apart from getting some of the club building again) was to get it as CLOSE to the hot wheels as possible. Thanks guys.
  13. well I meant to include Kens post here as well but I totally agree with both. Its a hard line knowing where totread when offering critisim but if done as ,Do to other what you would have done to you, approach is taken maybe it would be better received. Peronally I would rather have that sort of critique than nothing at all since as my sig says, how can I get any better if no one tells mewhat I'm doing wrong.
  14. Very very ,well nice barely cuts it so great work Bob. Hope Charlie dosnt take too long.

Thanks charlz. Well I think it may even be ready for offiicial primer, added the forgotten sun visor (twas the front cowl off something AMT). Lots of unseen work on the frame and front guards area and started on the floor and firewall. and put 1st coat of paint on wheels to match the smaller version made up the blower tiedown plate and built it up with some sheet stock for the carbs to sit on and made the scoop a little taller so now that everythings almost done I can start painting and detailing the engine. (as a side note, the engine came from a box of stuff I brought,I'm asuming its a monster truck engine as its slightly bigger than normal engines but still styrene. I do know the guy had one at one stage)
  18. Ghostman, you do some great work but dont sweat it if you dont get the comments. Been there know how it can feel But as long as you are happy, who cares what anyone else has to say ,nice to get I admit but it aint going to chnge anything. Possibly people are too used to seeing super detailed fuelers now and dont know what to say about a box stock one (or two) ( very nicely built by the way).
  19. thats what I neded to know, thanks guys
  20. or should that be chevrolret altered for dragracing lol. sorry. Right my question here is,are the Monogram plum crazy57 chev fc and the Revell Tom McEwen 57 the same or differnt tools? frames done, well gonna putty up the joints tomorrow but the designs done two old timing covers stuck together are now my transfer case , using the kits diff as its pretty chunky gas bottle mockup and exhaust mocked up going around to my father inlaws to use his lathe to make up the gas bottles sometime mid week
  25. I always use lacquer thinners to thin mine and I think nail polish is more of a synthetic lacquer than enamel.anyways Fordedsel nope ya cant brush it not nicely anyways. On average it takes a bottle and a half of polish to fully paint a model(airbrush). I tend to buy threee of each color where posible and mix two together using at least one refilled with thinners for a starting point. Then thin some more as nessecery. If not used for a while I'll always thin again right before use.
