  1. Which is a re-pop from AMT (and briefly Matchbox) from around ... 1977 or 1978, if I recall correctly. Still - a great kit to spend time on this winter. Looking forward to seeing your progress.
  2. Amazing display of integrity. Thank you so much! I absolutely wish the best for your brother.
  3. Oh man, do I love these builds! So very cool!
  4. Absolutely beautiful work on this ancient kit! And I agree, the green is perfect.
  5. Thank you both! I may just have to buy one of each ...
  6. Thank you - I was surprised at how well the moldings have held up; hardly any flash at all. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Yes - I was also surprised the see that the entire body structure is molded as one piece - curtains and all! Fun to mask! Thank you! Thank you! It was a little before my time, but I did watch a couple of reruns after I received the kit (was a gift from my brother-in-law). What a gas! Thank you! Thank you! I'd love to see your build! Thank you! Yep, you should build it - it's a different sort of build, for sure. Thank you! Thank you!
  7. Thank you, Oliver. And yes, this kit has a lot of issues when compared to the "real" car, but it was a fun build, and people seem to recognize it right away for what it is supposed to be
  8. So ... if you wanted to build a '57 Chevy, which recently (or soon-to-be) reissued kit would you choose? Revell's or AMT's? It appears the Revell kit is based on the excellent 1957 Black Widow, and the AMT is based on the (in my opinion) excellent 1998 Pro Shop kit. Thoughts? Revell Kit 14551 AMT Kit 1460
  9. Finally finished this (1999 boxing AMT/ERTL The Munsters Koach kit 30098). Was a gift from Christmas (2023) from my Brother-in-law. Built out of the box, with the exception of pinning the "brake light" with a straight pin, and pinning the brackets that hold Eddie's seat, as there is no usable mounting point whatsoever. I also filled the void on the back of Eddie's seat. Tamiya lacquers and acrylics used throughout. The gold trim is Bare Metal foil, and I lost the gold finish when I polished, so I overcoated the gloss black with the same Alclad Candy Golden Yellow that I used for the gold (brass?) trimmed parts. This is the AMT kit from and a few outdoor shots: Thanks for looking!
  10. A few updates. Hopefully, I'm close to putting this on the shelf. For the pinstripes, I airbrushed Alclad II Candy Golden Yellow over the entire car, and ended up with this: And now I'm getting close to actually finishing:
  11. Beautiful work - your build is probably shiner than any D-100 was originally
  12. Very cool! How does one acquire these awesome parts?
  13. The Molotow - I gather you sprayed it (like from the refill bottle), and didn't use the pens? It looks great.
  14. Wow! That is a beautiful color! Nice work so far!
  15. Been a little while since I've been at the workbench. I managed to get the pinstripes on, after several attempts. I used Bare Metal Gold Foil, and promptly removed the gold coloring when I polished over the trim. Oops.
  16. Answering my own question, so maybe it's the wrong answer I had some Alclad II Candy Golden Yellow. Trying that over the kit chrome, and I get this, which I think is close enough for my purposes:
  17. Thank you all. Question - what would be the best way to replicate the "gold" or "brass" trim? I've used Tamiya lacquers for the body, and Tamiya acrylics for the curtains.
  18. Gifted to me by my Brother-in-law for Christmas 2023. The AMT Munster's Koach. Note the plastic tires. And the one piece body - lots of masking for this one. So far, after multiple sessions with Tamiya tape and low tack Frog Tape, here is what I have (Tamiya gloss, matt, seme-gloss, and Nato black). It's hard to see the different sheens, but it's there: Now to paint the curtains, interior, and the rear doors ...
