  1. I have the Olsen Brothers front bumper and winch, along with the rear step bumper. (No commentary - and I hope things work out for him). Unfortunately, I knocked the nearly completed scout off my bench and the rear step bumper is pretty much destroyed. That, and the lifted suspension I had cobbled together. So, seeing as I need to make some significant repairs - does anyone know of either aftermarket parts (bumpers, etc.) that are currently available, or even 3d files that would be available? (My local hobby shop has several 3d printers, which is pretty cool). thanks in advance
  2. I apologize - I did ask about available parts earlier - I should have replied there. @admin - please delete this thread.

  4. I appreciate all of the insight. I've been able to make the printer work by running Windows 7 in a virtual machine (VMWare Workstation Player). I'm using some off-brand USB to Parallel cable. Now to actually print a decal ...
  5. Nice! Perfect color
  6. What a beautiful build.
  7. Ages ago, I found an Alps MD-1000 for sale locally and grabbed it. The previous owner was frustrated with it and had moved on to whatever he thought was a better printer (and I can see where you'd want something else for daily printing). Fast forward to 2024 and I actually got the thing to work! I'm running a Windows 7 (32-bit) virtual machine on a Windows 11 workstation and using a USB-to-parallel printer cable with bidirectional communication disabled. I've loaded a 32-bit version of Inkscape on the VM. After much experimentation and spending quite a bit of time on the groups.io Alps board (is "board" the right word?), I successfully did a test print tonight and was even able to print from Inkscape. I'm excited! So ... on to the question. What decal paper can I use with this? I want to print on clear paper as much as possible. Do I want paper designed for a laser printer or for an ink jet printer? Is anyone on this board actually using an old Alps printer now? Thanks in advance for any insight.
  8. Very sorry to hear about your Dad. Love what you've done with all of the awesome custom parts in this build.
  9. Nice craftsmanship. I agree with others on the truck - that work seems like some of the older stuff I remember seeing around my Granddad's farm - everything was purpose built. Really enjoying seeing the belly tanker. In the picture where the guy is sitting in a belly tanker - are those zip ties (!) holding those lines along the left side of the cockpit? When did zip ties come into existence? Such a cool build - definitely worth following.
  10. Nice work so far!
  11. Beautiful boat
  12. That's a great looking sheet! Hate I missed that ...
  13. Thank you, Mark! Any idea on the "Night Moves" quarter panel decals? Looking at online scans of the two (two!) decals sheets included with the Model King Camaro, those don't appear to be there. The stripes and fades / flames are definitely on those sheets, though.
  14. I'm guessing this is the old AMT Camaro. This isn't my build, but I was wondering if anyone knew the source of the markings? (image found on that auction site.)
  15. That's so cool! Do you have links to the various aftermarket suppliers you used? I've heard of Detail Junkies, but not the others.
  16. That looks really nice!
  17. Love it. Needs a bomb air conditioner; and maybe a sun visor
  18. Thank you! I'm sure with a decent clear coat, it would have been even better. It's been a few years since I built this, but I think the Inca Gold will be perfect for any number of show cars. Looking forward to seeing more Deora!
  19. That Testors Inca Gold will be perfect for your build! Nice work! Here's Inca Gold on the Tom Daniel's Vandal
  20. Very cool
  21. That looks really good!
  22. Oh, wow! That is impressive! I agree with others - carrying through with the dash is cool.
  23. Wow! I have this kit in my stash, and for so few parts, I think it's rather intimidating. Beautiful work.
