  1. Bill - I suspect this is true for many of us -- I build for several reasons: I like the vehicle; I stumbled across some interesting history about the vehicle; my parents/grandparents/others had some connection to the vehicle or one like it. And, I'm a history buff, so when I'm not building cars/trucks, I'm building 1/72 WWII aircraft (mostly). Your comments really rang home for me. I was aware that the midgets were very popular after WWII, and that was my interest in them. Plus, there are all sorts of marking options. I did dig through the ol' stash just a bit ago. Turns out, I do have the Edelbrock Equipped V-8/60, but not the Offenhauser one. I'm going to keep my eye out for more of the former, and at least one of the latter. If anyone has any built, I'd love to see them. I hate that I missed when they were hot items.
  2. Reading the reviews, I would have expected them to be popular kits - trailer included. Bummer.
  3. I was thinking I'd like to pickup a couple of the Revell Midget racers (Edelbrock, Offy) but man, oh, man! The few I've seen are only on eBay or Amazon and are pricey. Anybody know if these might be reissued in the near future?
  4. Might be the best the ol' Mythos ever looked! Very cool!
  5. I've never seen one built. Excellent work.
  6. That is one sweet build!
  7. More!!!! That is one awesome looking machine!
  8. The best that base kit has ever looked! Very, very nice!
  9. Went to Ollie's today, just because of this thread. Had only been once - a while ago and thought, "blah". I was nicely surprised - Daughter and I loaded up on kits. While checking out, the girl at the register said, "my boyfriend was really excited that we got all of these kits in. He loves building these things." That made me happy - there's hope for the future! Now, to visit the Ollie's across town!
  10. Wow!
  11. Keep up the good work!
  12. Yeah, nice work on the T-Tops!
  13. Very Cool! Anybody ever hear the "Leave it to Beaver" spoofs on the radio back in the 90's, "Starring Clint Eastwood as the Beaver"? What a hoot!
  14. Too cool!
  15. More or less 1/24. Monogram's Tom Daniel's Vandal.
  16. That looks nice. You might could clear coat the wheels so that there is paint barrier between the tires and wheels in an effort to stop the melting. These are still cool cars - and black is always nice.
  17. This is awesome.
  18. I like it! Very impressive!
  19. Ya gotta build it with those awesome decals!
  20. That is sharp!
  21. I gotta agree w/ Anthony. That second car looks just right!
  22. That's very nice!
  23. Ohhhh.....nice!
  24. I bet that's got one nasty exhaust note...
