  1. Alrighty then, got 2 builds goin'. Is this the Drag-u-la or... Right !! Got it Lot's o' mock up today, primarily on the frame and interior. The engine cradle and trans are going to be a challenge ®, but the addition of 3/4 inch to the wheelbase was a cake walk. I almost didn't have to do any physical labor at all. Remember the trans hump I said I wasn't going to need? Turns out it'll make a perfect blower belt recess for the interior if I stand it on end. Might put a window in it too. As you will see in the last picture, I need to re-tub the fender wells also. So 'till something better comes along, that's it for today. A quick note: My SD card broke off inside the card reader. I managed to get out the broken bit, but if my ability to post pictures is suddenly kaput, you'll know why.
  2. I was a semi - frequent visitor to the MAMA's Boys meets and events until I moved to Vegas 15 years a go. I remember a number of your builds Lyle and this is another of your best efforts. I'm two tones of green with envy.
  3. I've been looking for an example to fashion my Hemi Under Glass motor after. SCORE !! Guess you'll be hearing from me........... Do you have a "Basic Package" deal that includes popular sized hoses and fittings to do (at least) what you did to this one? I don't know the sizes required from all of those that are available.
  4. Man oh man Tony, that's gorgeous. I can't wait to get to mine in the next 4 to 7 months. They sure look great together.
  5. There's only one thing I like about this model. EVERYTHING !! I like seeing ultra clean, uncluttered builds. 3 thumbs up !! Or 2 if you can't find a Teddy Bear with one more thumb up.
  6. I'm guessing by your signature that you are or have been an Imagineer. I would have loved to be involved in that !! At any rate, keep in mind that you are looking at a 2D image. What I am seeing in 3D may not be as far off as you think they might be. Both kits are 1/25 (I made sure of that), and at the moment neither one has tires and the hauler housing may add some depth to this that isn't there now. I'm sure you also realize from your own builds (saw your builds (NICE) on PB and I want your page skin), that paint and graphics, especially stripes, can be visually thinning. I do agree that a slingshot would be a very appropriate subject, but I would want a long one, not a "snubnose" shorty, because I would want it to compliment the stretch look of the hauler. On the up side, the Challenger fits as far as length goes (barely), whereas the Jungle Jim car had too much overhang. A short subject might make it look too blockish. I don't want a streamliner carrying a brick on it's back. Seriously my friend, it ain't over 'til the decals go on as far as I'm concerned. With me, anything can change at any time. Hey, do me a favor? Go out your front door, face Orlando, then a little south and wave at my daughter and GrandBratz in Auburndale. Let me know if they wave back. Love your input. Keep me on my toes.
  7. Right on John. I did have this whacky idea about putting a blower on a four cylinder, but if you don't use it, I'll wait until I build a motorcycle. You also have a nice way of calling me retentive. lol Thanx
  8. I'm just going to sit here in awe for a while. AAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWWEEEEEEEEEE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Okay, I feel better now. You're knocking this one so far outa the park, I think I can see where the bat hit it.
  9. Derrick, I wanted to deluge you with comments, criticisms, do a little bashing, throw out some suggestions and ideas, but you being slower than me is cake enuff. Besides, you made working coil overs. I can't make a working dipstick. I did manage to turn a one hour job into a three hour project today. Guess that means I owe myself 2 hours.........
  10. Little more on the Challenger mock up. Started by chopping the interior behind the front seats. After completing that, a test fit had the floor pan showing under the shortened body side panels, so I had to make a new floor. Don't need a trans hump anyway, right ?? Figured I'd just incorporate the rear firewall into that. Don't know if it worked yet because I need to narrow the top of the wall to fit the roof contour. If necessary after the next test fit, I'll cut off some material from the bottom of the interior door panels. There is a substantial wheelbase difference that I will compensate for by lengthening the HUG frame at the marks indicated. More on that tomorrow.
  11. Any way to put a blower on the 4 cylinder ?? Run pipes from the intake manifold to a blower plate. Brackets and angle as needed. Custom length belt..... Just throwing ideas out to help ya' man.
  12. Same thing goes for me and all of my personalities. Does not. Does too. Does three. You stay outa this.......... Best Wishes from all of us !!
  13. I learned a new texting abbreviation while watching "Big Bang Theory". It's KMN. Kill Me Now. A four banger ?? Might as well put a Harley or a Wankel in it. I'm kidding, as usual, of course. I'm sure that you can turn something so simple into a work of art, as usual, of course. Go with your gut John. That seems to have worked so far.
  14. Yeah, that guy. But with your name David, wouldn't it be Crazy Diamond ?? Nice pic, they look great together.
  15. It just hit me why I like the color combo so much. When Brett said "regal". It's the same as a Crown Royal bag. I'm not a drinker, but I used to use the bags to carry my Dungeons and Dragons dice around in.
  16. So, now that I am back from hiatus, let's get serious with this bad mamajamma. The first thing to do to determine nose height here is make sure the body isn't too tall. Thanx to some great design work by Dodge and outstanding precision from Revell on the lower body molding, we have lost the front spoiler, rear roll pan and exhaust cut outs, along with the lower side trim. Just under 1/4" all around. In the morning I'll mock up the HUG chassis and see where she sits. One final note. I've opened up the front grille and lower air dam. The grille will get mesh and possibly only 2 headlights. Remember when low beam and high beam were in one light?
  17. Got some paint done today. Going with Gold, Chrome and PURPLE. I figured I'd make the interior of the coffin look like it was upholstered in purple. Goes good with gold, yes ?? A side note. I'll be working on 3 builds now. This one plus The Bride of Deora (TYVMM), and the Hemi Under Glass. I picked up a 2009 Challenger and have already made mods to it prior to mock up for the hauler housing height. Excuse the doodles, I was trying to get a marker jump started after it got paint on it.
  18. I'm with John, Virgil. Do your research on FED's and I think you'll find what you want and possibly see a new trick you hadn't thunk of. Also, there's that Corvair water pumping front engine rod on here too. You could bump heads with him.
  19. For a minute there Doc, I thought you were making a Back-Up pickup type of wheel stander. I like this even better. It wouldn't hurt my feelings if you tried to duplicate the paint scheme of your collaboration on the panel truck and airbrush trailer. You know, the one I threatened to tie you to the back of ?? Have fun Sir Crankyhead.
  20. Here's a build from a couple of years ago. Just felt like doing an off the wall all out sillymobile and this is the result. Prime theme circus colors with heavy red and green "anodizing" throughout with a mix on the wheel spokes. Wired engine, plumbed fuel tank, filled the water bucket and even though I fed the Dragon and the kitty cats, they're getting into mischief anyway. Interior is Ken's Fuzzy Fur. Changed back door decals from "Hottest Show On Wheels" to "Hottest Wheels On Show". This is why I get paid the big bucks folks. Well, this is why I PAY the big bucks. Enjoy.
  21. Welcome to Modeling Heaven. We do have one rule. You must switch from Chevy to MOPAR. Sorry, but it is a rule I read somewhere written by somebody that REALLY likes MOPARS. Unless. of course, you still want to build Chevy's, in which case you ignore the rule.
  22. Doc, I am having a blast. Bart, one of my favorite growing up memories. John, that's high praise coming from the King of Imagination. Whoopie !! I built a rollcage to fit. Now if I can just find or modify or make a seat in a more reclining position. After I clean parts I may even be ready to start paint on some stuff like the frame, engine / trans / differential assembly. Going to do a lot of purple to go with the gold and chrome. Well, my Hemi Under Glass arrived today, so no more excuses about getting back on The Bride Of Deora (TYVMM). I'll jump on it first thing, um, sometime, uh, probably soon. Okay, tomorrow, fine. And not to freak out because I'm workin on this and that simultaynee, simulat, simpllec, ...at the same time.
  23. ....and Batzilla is coming on strong from the back of the pack.........I thought I missed this 'cuz I was old. Wrong. I missed it 'cuz I said to myself, "Pancho Villa Rat Rod? I don't need no stinkin' ".......well, you get the idea. I should know better than to look for the ordinary outa you by now John. Looks sweet and eager to fry some pavement.
  24. I'm not a fan of the Volare or Pro-Touring or even trucks for that matter, but man o man, I am a fan of Pro-Quality model builds and this is one for sure. Your pics would even make great computer wallpaper. Bravo
  25. Old Guy Stuff: Check out John's Merc build in Under Glass. Remember I left a glass on table. Better get it before I hear about it. Go downstairs. Why did I come downstairs? Glasses !! I'm looking for my glasses. Well, they're not down here. Back upstairs I go. Look at computer monitor. Hey, there's John's Merc. How cool is that? Oh yeah, I need a glass of root beer. Back downstairs. As I head for the kitchen I think, "What am I gonna tell John he hasn't heard over and over?" Got root beer, back upstairs. Sit down, crack knuckles and prepare to type. Phone rings........ Four days later, I'm thinking to myself, "Why hasn't Teresi started another build?" Check Under Glass. Yup, it's done. Can't remember what my comment was. Search both pages; no comment from Batzilla. You'll all be there some day........ BTW, nice build John. Keep up the good work. Can't wait to see your next project. Where's my glasses...........
