Then yer gonna luv this: All items shown are pre-gloss / flat

I gotta give that to you Andy. If this was a more long term project, I'd slap an Allison or a 1/16 Blowed and Infected eco-friendly big block in there. But she'll still be a giggle giver wherever she goes. So don't gimme any more glue induced suggestions. I might take ya' up on it.

Everybody beat me to the really kewl remarks !! I gotta tell you when I saw first looked at the pics, the first thing to grab my brain and spin it around a time or two was the grill. Incredible build.

Over the top. That's how we likes 'em. Looks better than great. Y'all knocked yourselves out. And yes, we all want to know where the heck you got a decent flat red from. If you don't tell us, we'll tie you to the back of the truck and then we'll jump up and down on the airbrush button until you talk !!

Ready for some fun and silliness? I was digging thru my decals looking for a discreet little something or other to put on the doors. I came across some unneeded Batmobile decals. I've said it before and I'll say it some more, my builds tend to take on a life of their own. This Willys will now have transparent blue wheel covers that will each get a bat symbol. As will the doors, hood and tailgate. Notice on the decal sheet that that is 8 out of 10? The other two will go on the surfboard I just made for it. The one on the left came with the truck I took the front clip from. The bat I cut out is (I hope, obviously), the rudder. Um, Somebody check on Futurabat, I think he just fainted. Jacen, you okay man?

If you do decide to take Brad up on his idea, at least you won't have to make a jig for it. ...templates maybe, but not a jig... -
Wayne, you gave me a major "DOH !!" moment. It never occurred to me to print a duplicate decal to lay on top of the first one to brighten and solidify the image. Genius or common sense it works for me. Thanx man.

Here are some of my projects from the last 2 weeks
Nitrozilla replied to ratnasty's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Beauteous work Chuck. My favorite is the Charlie Allen car, although the Soapy Sales car is the best, but I like the Dick Harrell car more than any of them. What's your favorite? -
Alrighty then, we're still parts and pieces, but we're prettier parts and pieces than we were yesterday. Shot the body with Testor's Star Spangled Blue lacquer. Not exactly one coat as advertised, but that could be the conditions that I'm shooting under. It covered in one, but the gloss didn't come out until the second coat. Also going with new tires from the AMT Challenger F/C. They've been sanded on the tread and sidewalls scuffed to take some decals. The chrome on the wheels was terrible, so I stripped them. The chrome started disappearing the second the EZ-Off left the nozzle. The Challenger was getting ready to donate parts to the Deora build anyway. I had to laugh when I noticed the Challenger kit also has canards like I put on the Jungle Jim car. Gotta tell ya' I laffed and cried when I realized I had a set after I made those. lol Possible real live action packed non stop construction happening tomorrow. Ya' never know...... Thanx for the ideas on the 100% Hot Wheels stuff. I just had to go big or the Zinger Effect would be null and void. I'm not changing scale of preference at 1/24 - 1/25, this is a time filler 'til I can get back to the hauler.

Aft Power Transfer Gear Housing Torque Application Sub Assembly? I like rear end better. Oh, wait.......

The Russ Davis F/C is gorgeous. I was going to make a smart alec comment about the valve stems until I noticed 3 out of 4 have them. I like consistency in a builder. But seriously, I like the Mustang so much, I might actually consider thinking about the possibility that I might want to, sometime in the near future, consider building something other than a MOPAR. Maybe.

Doh !! He said, "...smooth seat". Hope the pilot has a wide seat. Precision plus on the engine details so far too Chris. I love watching other people work. -
Whacked out rides are the stuff of life. The bigger, badder and meaner it is, the more I like it. BTW, your typing style is so similar to mine it's scary. I thought I was reading one of my own topics at first. Great job Don, bring it on !!

" Mercury Rising": 49 Mercury Convertible / "Bubble Top"
Nitrozilla replied to John Teresi's topic in WIP: Model Cars
....and one more question. Do you get tired of seeing your huge grin in the reflection when you're working on it? Another unbelievably stunning master model from an unbelievably masterful modeler. -
Then there's these pictures too.

Since I don't have a reputation for normal builds, I'm getting back to work on a little project I was forced to drop about a year ago. Just started out with a curiosity as to how they put together a 1/64 die cast. Next thing you know, as usual, I'm outa control. So this is what's going to keep me busy until I can get back on The Bride of Deora. This shouldn't take too long. Pretty much just have to detail the back tires, make axles, mount the front end and blast her with some lacquer. I'll find a way to drag it out though.

Stretch Deora Hauler
Nitrozilla replied to Nitrozilla's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
PLAN C: Here it is, my current design for the ramp and housing. Another painful reminder of why I build, not draw. If anything is unclear, lemme know and I'll sort it out. Now, here's the other part of the deal. The housing is tall enuff as it is. I'm going to order my HHUG on the 1st and I'll get priority Starship delivery. I have to keep the housing as low profile as the front ride height of the car will allow. That means this build is going on hiatus. I am not one to drop a build and I will be right back on it the day that the model gets here. In the meantime, Look for another "On the Workbench" where I will pick up a build I was forced to drop when I lost my job last year. It's cute. -
Stretch Deora Hauler

Brandon, that's what it was until this happened: This is actually the second change because it was originally for the U.S. Dart. When you build the way I do, you have to be flexible and, as Phoebe on Friends would put it, "I'm very bendy." -
Stretch Deora Hauler

Thanx for the ideas men. I truly appreciate your input and I was really leaning toward the Silouhette, Silowett, Silly...., the red car. And the idea of flagging the canards got me to thinking about "putting a sock on it". LOL I also gave the shorty slingshot a serious consideration 'cuz I haven't built a rail before (not enuff potential for life altering problems as a full size car). Again I must LOL. Great ideas all guys. Mucho Appreciado. Did you ever have one of those dreams where you wake up, write down your world changing idea, go back to sleep, then in the morning you realize there's not as much need in the world for a velcro zipper on a railroad spike as you originally thought? That's not what happened to me. However, I did wake up and got on the web and started hunting for an appropriate subject for the Bride of Deora when I found this: Using the HHUG, I have easy access to aftermarket decals so the transport can have matching paint and graphics. I might even steal some old F/C headers to do this version. I love this shot because you can clearly see Bob Riggle's face peeking thru the floorboard and you can easily see the differential and transfer case. Yeah, I think I'm in love again. You'se guyz are the bestest. -
How in the name of Alvin and the Chipmunks did I miss this one? That's a riot !! I also like the idea of the rat motored Chevy. Here's a stupid idea. Instead of a Malibu, make it a Citation 'cuz that's what you would always be getting for going under the speed limit and being a general hazard to navigation. Did I mention the tickets for the exhaust "emissions"?

Brett, Dude, that's killer !! BTW, Modeler's ADD, is actually Modeler's Attention Deficit Disorder Osmosis Genroticulitus, or MADDOG. It is a very real mental disorder affecting millions across the globe. You're in good.........Oh, cool, check that out !! It's a ...........Where was I ? Right !! Dude, that's killer !! As for updates on the Horsemen Project, like so many others, we peek in, check progress and then may not comment saving our rapier wit for a more appropriate time. Boothill Express kitbash ideas
Nitrozilla replied to Jantrix's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Coincidence, a BHE took 3rd place custom at yesterday's Henderson Super Run model contest. I think a C cab is a great idea and as far as the engine set up goes, may I recommend a car I saw at the 1:1 show? -
Stretch Deora Hauler
Nitrozilla replied to Nitrozilla's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Funny you should show such confidence in me when this build is about to go thru an Identity Crisis. Here's the issue: With the canards (which are extremely permanent), the car measures out at 4 1/2" wide. The Deora is 3" wide. That gives 3/4" overhang on each side which means, even with truck mirrors, there's no way to see around the hauler housing. As a side note, looking at it from the front it just looks beyond inconceivably inconceivable. The original idea was for it to go with the U.S. Dart, but it had decal issues I wouldn't care to repeat (the stars). It's a possibility to use the Chi-Town Hustler, but that seems mundane to me now. What's a poor old modeler to do? I thought about going with a show car or custom, but after searching hobby sites and Evilbay, I'm drawing a blank. So, the build is stalled until I can come up with a suitable haulee for the hauler. Suggestions? Ideas? Comments? Anything will help from my Buds On The Board. My collection of unbuilt kits is non-existent, so I can't even offer a trade for something somebody wants to offer that I like. Sigh. Lemme know what ya' think everybody. This is your chance to tell me what to do and how to do it. How often does that happen around here?
