.....and a few more. Got a headache. See y'all tomorrow.

Remember when I said, if I get an idea while I'm building that I can't resist just, doing it ?? Well, it's happened again. We now have a spider web net to go under the chutes to prevent them from getting hung up on the push bar. And speaking of chutes, I'm going to have the lines chained to the chassis. The lines are hangman's nooses. Each line is coiled 13 times. Not a requirement of the knot, just seemed appropriate, especially this time of year. I need to re-do the one on the right. Ewwww. Almost done with fuel lines and about to put on the body. I'm sooooooo jazzed. Dang !! Just noticed the oil leak under the engine in the last picture. That's the last time I count on glue to be a good gasket sealer.

Stretch Deora Hauler
Nitrozilla replied to Nitrozilla's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
This is what happens when people get old. Totally my bad Dave. You and Darryl look so much alike on the internet. Correction: The window idea came from Dave. I musta been looking at Darryl's stuff just before I posted this. Yeah, that's it !! That's exactly what happened. Well, guess it's time to stop yakking.............. -
What is everyones opinion on the I-Hobby announcements?
Nitrozilla replied to GMP440's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I think I missed something. Isn't Polar Lights due to release a pair of Funny Cars, Tommy Grove and Candies & Hughes, next year ?? I've seen them on hobby shop sites as "Coming Soon". Why no mention of them from Round 2 ?? -
Wow, that was fast, huh ?? I've got some pics to go with the text from above. If you go back to any previous pic of the engine bay, you'll see how much I had to take off. Also, of course, I wasn't happy with the belt I had, so I made a new one. Didn't have any half round stock for the belt teeth, but with paint and belt markings it should be good to go.

Stretch Deora Hauler
Nitrozilla replied to Nitrozilla's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Here's me poking my head in the door to let ya'll know that I will be back on this as soon as the Dragula stops playing games and will let me get some serious work done on it. For details, see my Dragula on Steroids topic in Drag Racing. I want to get back on this as bad as everybody following it wants me to. Two developments on the Bride of Deora: 1 - The window posts between the side windows is going bye bye. That will make the interior highly visible and I like the idea of a long side window. Thanx go out to Mr. Darryl Mistertwister for that one. 2 - The hauler housing will be enclosed similar to the Tommy Ivo Showboat hauler, without the room for storage compartments. That area will now be a sleeper section and a 3rd vehicle will be built as a support van of some sort or another. That's for later. Hope to see you all back here soon. Edit: Third development: I mistakenly thanked the wrong person for the window idea. Correction follows on next reply from me. Sorry Darryl and sorry Dave. Wait 'til you get old.......... -
Thanx John. I've always liked that anodized look wherever it's appropriate. Man o' man, this has been an exciting time between updates. The canopy was giving me fits, or more so, not fits. After 3 attempts to get the back to stop moving side to side, that is finally corrected. However, that correction also raised the back of the body which gave zero clearance for the headers. Now the engine bay sides are lower by 1/8th inch. A hair more than needed, but the bonus is that the headers will now be positioned more like an Altered or F/C than a Dragster. Fuel lines are ready to install, right after the belt. I may have to make a new belt if I don't like the look of the one I plan on using. I'll post pics later today when I have some real progress to report.

MATCO TOOLS '57 Chevy Pro Mod
Nitrozilla replied to Mister Twister's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
So here's my plan. I'm gonna hook up with Stewie Griffin so he can make a machine that will turn me into a butterfly, then teleport me to Darryl's house so I can watch him build in secret, then come back with all of his secrets so I can build models that will allow me to take over the world. I just have one quick question. Darryl, do you collect butterly's too ?? -
green underlined words

I got hit with one that would display coupons when I moused over it. I went into the tool section of my browser (Mozilla Firefox) and deactivated it. -
Anything that looks to have wall to wall slicks gets my attention. BTW, anything more than 2 engines per tire is overkill.

Strap in for another wild ride. Mixed emotions about using an award winning build to create another one. True test of intestinal fortitude. I've hacked on a finished area of a build, but never converted a finished one into something else. You keep finding new ways to raise the bar John.

.....and once again I make a prediction of having the build done by the weekend and fall through. But we're having fun, right ?? Installed the fuel pump, fuel tank and the distributor. Removed fuel pump because it needs to be gold, not purple. The frame is purple, the engine bay is purple, the pulleys are purple. It made the purple pump invisible in there. Glad I made it out of aluminum tubing. A plastic pump never would have survived the pumpectomy. Fuel lines will be handmade aluminum a/n fittings with .032 solder lines. 3 from the tank, including the by-pass, and two from the pump to the fuel blocks. Plug wires are one of the last items after the body goes on but need to be in place before the belt goes on.

You have to love life when it comes at you from out of nowhere and gives you a great big intergalactic group hug. I know as well as you do Keith, that things like this are all part of the cosmic plan and you just stepped into it with both feet. This is going to bring you a joy you can't comprehend yet and you're gonna love it. Do what you can, when you can and we'll help in any way possible along the way.

The flake in the clear is just one more feature that takes this build over the top Dave. What a subtle eye popping way to set off the stripes.

1969 Camaro outlaw prostreet updates 11/19/11
Nitrozilla replied to tyrone's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
Now THAT looks like a motor that WORKS for a living. Not some prettyfied show queen engine. Stopped me in my tracks. Actually, just seems like that when it blew by me at 200 + mph. -
Lots and lots of detail work and modifications today. I thought the whole idea of mock-up was not having to modify the stuff that's supposed to fit. I'm way happy with the canopy, but it needs more work (see?). Hopefully I'll be wiring the whole shebang tomorrow so I can get back on the Deora. I'm Jonesing to get to the hauler housing now that the ride height issue is no longer an issue. But, that's another Topic. Back to the subject at hand........

Charlie, surgeons do their best work under pressure. Chris is the type of surgeon who laffs at pressure when he says, "Ha Ha Mr. Pressure, I laff at you." That's not an exact quote, but it suits my purposes......... Keep up the good stuff Chris -
63 Pro Mod Vette.......Updated 09/28/14
Nitrozilla replied to 1320wayne's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
Great subject and a pro building a pro mod. Kinda' like robots building robots. You wouldn't wanna' give a sneek peek at the graphics, wouldja ?? -
Here we go folks. Here are all of the pre-assembled sub system assembly section group sub-assemblies prior to actual assembledge. BTW, I think everybody breathed a sigh of relief when the gold went on. .....and the rest.

It's okay Brett. You don't have to put in a Hemi as long as you at least WANT to put one in. It's the thought that counts my friend of little furry footed people. Bazinga.

Top Sportsman & Bracket Cars
Nitrozilla replied to Mister Twister's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
This is true and I would also like to see the molding process. I've heard / read that for tarps and covers, you put plastic wrap down, but what kind ?? Glad or something along that lines ?? And how to keep a chutes shape on the ground or draped over a spoiler / wing or what have you. Also don't know the glue dilution ratio. Sure, I could experiment but I've got too many running projects to slow down. LOL I will be the Patient Padawan I keep telling others to be. At your convenience Darryl. -
While trying to think of something clever to say about the progress you're making on the Outlaw Camaro, it hit me. Since Grandpa Munster is Herman's Father - in - law, you're building an Outlaw and I'm building an Inlaw. SEE ?? If you try hard enuff....Now as far as a clever comment for progress goes, I haven't made any progress on that. Sorry. As for colors my good sir, wadda' ya' think about me painting the torsion bars, stabilizer links, front axle and wing braces a nice shade of transparent blue ?? Would that be okay ?? I don't want to upset anybody by making it too kewl, right ??

Stretch Deora Hauler
Nitrozilla replied to Nitrozilla's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Finally, I have everything I need to take this project to completion. I'm totally happy with the Charlie Allen car going on here. It serves a plethora of requirements, the most important one being I finally get to build a car I built 45 years a go. I had about 2 years experience when I built the first one. I think this might turn out better. Thanx one more time to you patient, patient people while this thing sorted itself out. This is gonna' be a trip !! I should have the Dragula done this weekend, then back on this full time, no distractions.
